I had to downgrade, I had to install older versions of mods, I had to fiddle around with all kinds of things, I had to re-install mods, I had to delve into the Q&A here (search all the comments and such).. and just.. after legitimately trying to get this thing to work for who knows how long, I somehow finally got it to work.
The problem is, I have.. No idea how I managed to do this as it was pretty much by accident.
Long story short: some mods have to have very specific versions installed when the game has been downgraded, and it looks like they have to be installed in a specific order (at least with Vortex), and obviously, don't forget to tick the little box when in bodyslide. I was going for cold's bellies, so I also had to find that mod.
But yay! it actually works now.. ahahaha.. passes out in coffee
can you kindly show what versions you did? im wracking my brain getting this to work
Uh sure, considering I probably spent 12+ hours on this.. I might as well.
For starters; Make sure to downgrade Fallout 4 and turn off automatic updates (Go into updates and set to update on launch and go to Steam > steamapps; and find appmanifest_377160, rightclick & properties and set to read-only)
Cool, you have achieved step 1 and made the game compatible with the 70% of mods last updated before April this year that were no longer compatible with the "Bethesda effect" It just works~
Now install: Bodyslide v5.6.3 (I grabbed the hotfix version), F4SE 0.6.23 & LooksMenu v1.6.19. These are the 3 that Needto be downgraded since they were updated for the most recent ver of Fallout 4. If you want to get the Coldsteel Bodies to work, you'll also want to install "Fallout 4 Weightgain SSBBW mod v1.8.58 (just google Fallout 4 coldsteel ssbbw, it's the first result and found on DeviantArt. Scroll down to where it says "8. Download and install my "Weight Gain mod" and click either the mediafire or googledrive links. There's also a link to CBP Physics on the same page, which you can grab as well, it'll add physics to hair, boobs, butt & belly but it might not work until you save & reload after getting everything to work at the very end and the Coldsteel bellies option enabled in MCM) But make sure you disable the plugin that comes with Fallout 4 Weightgain SSBBW since it conflicts with the vore mod's "THICC vore"
I didn't have to install older versions of CBBE, HUDFramework, MCM, Ponytail Hairstyles by Azar or Waster Armor (I did not get the waster armor to work, I think you need to install an update patch for Coldsteel's mod, I'm really not sure) So just install the most recent versions of those mods. I also suggest grabbing "Rusty Face Fix", just in case since apparently I've seen people complain about "blackface" or something here and.. just get the mod.
Finally, install "Fallout Vore Coldsteel Bodies", any additional mods you wish to use at this point (like skin textures, QoL and so on) and install Fallout Vore Last.. I cannot stress this enough, if you are using Vortex, install this mod last. If you installed it earlier, just re-install it at the end. If you're using a mod manager that can control load order? Just have it at the back end. Resolve any conflicts (Generally it'll be CBBE, just have that load first, any texture mod, Physics and finally weight gain is what I went with.. but I don't know if that's the best, it's just what worked for me).
Finally, while it *is* in the installation instructions for this mod, I'll re-mention it here; Open up Bodyslide & if you have both "Fallout 4 Coldsteel bodies" & "Fallout 4 Weightgain SSBBW", Top left corner, click 1ATrueVore, Vore Zero Sliders (only mess with these if you want every female to have big tiddies, butt & thighs), click the checkbox next to "Build batch" so that it has the been checked and click Batch Build. When it asks you to pick which ones you want to set, type "Vore" into the search bar and hit Enter and it should also check every "Coldsteel Vanilla outfit". (Also, while I was looking through this, I couldn't find the waster armor in Bodyslide, which might explain why it didn't get effected by this)
Now, if *everything* worked as it should, when you launch via F4SE, and start a new save (you HAVE to start a new save, you might even have to restart game/save a few times), everything should work fine and nothing should blow up. I literally passed out in the middle of the day after I got this to work, I have no idea how I got it to work, I am not mod tech support. I tried to explain this in the best way I could, and if something went wrong, you're better off not asking me.. I am terrible at explaining.. and I am not good at talking to people in general. All I can really say is to avoid installing mods that would conflict with anything already there.
