Technically if you know how to mod, go to the loverslab page and watch the tutorial over there from Forgetful Hatter.
If you have never been modding skyrim before, you'll need:
1. Skyrim: Special Edition, preferably the Steam version. Doesn't have to be Anniversary Edition, but can work with it.
2. I don't know if you need to, but you will probably have to
downgrade the Steam version of skyrim from the current
version to 1.5.97 because of some of the mods needed for Devourment and probably also Devourment itself. You do that by getting the
Downgrade Patcher from Nexus or if it is no available for the current version of skyrim, you'll need to manually download the 1.5.97 version of Skyrim and replace the needed files in your Skyrim installation directory, which you can find through steam, if you haver never done that before. You can find videos on Youtube to do that.
3. You'll need a mod installation programm if you don't want to completely fry your normal installation of Skyrim SE, i recommend it because removing mods would become hell if you don't. I highly recommend
Mod Organizer 2, while the programm from Nexus Mods works well enough fo surface level modding, it's been kinda complicated with load orders for the mods, so just install Mod Organizer 2.
Some mods will have to be installed manually, but usually it will say so if you have to.
4. You'll need to download
all nessecary files for the mod, all
dependencies and better yet, some optional stuff for crash prevention. While the official loverlab page has the mod listed with all it's requierments, which you will have to install more or less in order. For installation you can also use theis Mod list which SHOULD have everthing, with some extra stuff like the Mage Armor Skyript Fix, which is not listed on the original side, tho you probably don't need the skin mods. You'll find it by searching for "Devourment Base Install nexus mods".
5. You'll need to install all mods through the mod installation progamm (hopefully Mod Organizer 2). In MO2 everything that is lower on the list is overwriting everything above, so usually patches go to the bottom, and everything that needs certain patches needs to go below those. I also highly recommend to watch the installation guide that is shown on the loverslab page, made by Forgetful Hatter who shows how to install everthing in tutorial videos on youtube.
(6). If you want anything more, you can always install more community made mod addons for Devourment Refactor, like armor mod patches and additions for how certain things work. You can find them on loverslab or on this forum.
I've thought about making actual mod lists and more indepth guides in my free-time for Devourment Refactor, with how to properly install it with other
related mods like other race mods or make changes to character meshes and textures, but i've been kinda meaning to go over to just making the game look like TES6 instead of installing these kinds of mods and step away from them and this stuff in general.
