Creating Videogames is a pretty hard task, especially when you want to create a smooth, fun experience. Sometimes it's best to take a break and look at your plans after some time have passed.
Perhaps it would be beneficial to release a demo version first and look at feedback from the community?
And of course, if it is too much, then you shouldn't burn yourself out. Your own wellbeing should always come first!

It'll be disappointing if this never gets a release, but also highly understandable. Making games is a lot more hard work than a lot of people realize

Solo dev ain't easy, especially if you're trying to pick up stuff that you would give to a programmer when you have a background as an artist. While I wouldn't blame you for giving up on this game, that doesn't mean you have to give up on making any games. Most artists with very little programming background lean to visual novels(renpy seems to be the primary choice) and we have a number of good examples of it working out well even for solo devs.

Same here, If you need to take a break every now and then kernac then your free to do so, take your time with this every now and then, you can also try to find someone to help you with the stuffs for your game as well if you need to, no matter how long it takes you always have a friend that can wait.

Feel free to take a break whenever you can. As what many other people saying, making games is a very difficult task to overcome, and I understand that as a person myself who's been trying to make a 2D game as a solo-dev.

Entirely up to you if you want to continue with your project or not. Just make sure that you should take care of your mental wellbeing first than anything else. ❤
