Re: Hero - New Vore-Light RPG ( First release ! )

Ok, I think I've played the rest of the release to completion.

I got to our first dungeon delve - the eastern forest. The first two preds we encounter, MaBaa and Talonette, had cute designs but I didn't find their motivations too interesting ("You are a human, therefore food"). Between them and the neko shopkeeper who plans to eat the entire town, I'm wondering if this setting is going to have the vast majority of demis as innate preds - which is fine if that's the intention and all the more power to you, just not my cup of tea.

Tervagel seemed more of an interesting character - she held some sort of grudge and territoriality against humans as a result of their encroachment, which already makes things more compelling for me. Also a neat detail is that she ambushes you just as you're about to loot one of the chests that's laying around the forest. Kinda like, "Think you can just take anything you want, trespasser?" Humans in most fantasy settings claim something like 50% of the surface land so I can see her point. The angsty squirrel girl (it's a squirrel, I'm siding with Reona on this one) also wiped the floor with me in my first two tries, and I only beat her with a sliver of Reona's health on the third.

Speaking of difficulty, I'm finding myself backtracking to Reona's house over and over so I can use the bed and refill on health - the four potions I had on me at the beginning of the adventure were just enough to heal me and Ampelle from the first MaBaa fight. I could use the bloomshrooms since they respawn every time you re-enter an area, but the HP they heal is minimal - Reona could gulp down 20 of them and still be injured.

The combat itself is fun - I enjoy stacking Amped Up and Empower on Reona first turn then letting her spam double strike. When a boosted critical hit lands, it's a true nuke. One time I did 1200 damage on the second turn. At the same time, it's RNG dependent - one time I had Ampelle miss net shot three times in a row against the Mistress. Then again, hard to blame it on you, that's just the way RPGs go.

Also, I enjoy being greeted by that picture of Reona hugging a belly whenever I visit the title screen. Assuming Ampelle isn't a pred, I hope Reona gets a pred companion sometime down the line so that the title screen can come true. Speaking of Ampelle, I loved the way she assisted Reona should she choose to eat the first boss. I don't feel strongly about multiple preys, but if Ampelle got eaten together with Reona in some scenes, that would be fun too.

I liked both bosses. The captain was a bit of a hypocrite for calling Reona a ginger while being a redhead herself, hehe. I smiled at Reona's line about the most evil people digesting all the same. I also wouldn't have found the path to the pirates unless I had read your earlier reply about a buffalo jumpscare in the swamp.

...I also realized. Reona is wearing jeans despite living in a medieval fantasy world. Not too shocking, though - I saw a setting where druids had internet. Also lol at the neko scene where she's casually practicing Japanese.

Bug reports:
Spoiler: show
You can go out of bounds by reaching the "Deep Woods" area, immediately exiting back into the previous forest area, and going north. You can also walk on the north curtains in the woodlands tent.
After eating the harpy boss, I was unable to dash in the overworld even after completing all the digestion cycles, and I couldn't show the talon to the governor. He still said "Stay safe, Reona". Nevermind, I read the thread and apparently that's where the game ends for now.
Some of the pirate digestion scenes play twice.

So is weight gain for the MC planned at all? She looks great right now, so watching her get thicker and thicker would be awesome longterm.

I really enjoyed it. The dialogue was great, Mel and Reona are great together, and Mel is great for comic relief - especially with Ampelle.

I had a couple of thoughts:

- I found the wanted poster for Nya-chan before I found the Fairy shop. I didn't know I had to speak to her to continue the quest, so it might be useful to have "Come to the fairy shop to take this contract" written on the poster.
- As good as it is, seeing the same dialogue whenever you fight a monster gets a bit repetitive.
- If the apprentice is being set up to be a party member (which it seems like she is, but I might be wrong) could the catgirl join the party too? Also, if you can have preds in your party... maybe some willing scenes with them?

This is a great game, and I'm excited to see where you take it!

Thank you for your thoughts!

I'm working on a couple tweaks that may spice things up, and some changes to the . Unfortunately, neither Apprentice nor Nyaa-chan are going to be party members. But you can visit them anytime!

The shopkeeper has a couple unique dialogues depending on how far along you are with the main quest (going to the tavern, meeting mel, etc.) and you need to trigger one of those unique dialogues to learn about the bush behind the chapel.

If you are having trouble, try talking to the shopkeeper twice after Ampelle joins the party. This should guarantee that you get the specific dialogue that tells you about the clearing, etc.

Good job finding out though! I was worried it was too unclear

I think the reason is that I only talk to the shopkeeper before Ampelle joins the party. Anyway, I have got the scence of the catgirl :gulp: , thank you

And I have to say, REALLY FUN so far, I can't wait to play more :gulp:

i honestly found it by sheer accident xd i heard another NPC in the village mention there being a fairy shopkeeper, so as soon as i heard about that i dashed to her, and then just kept talking to her because i wanted to trigger some event that gets me eaten by her, and then after talking to her 2-3 times she spilled the beans about the cat, as well as tease me more about her being a potential pred...which perked my interest even more.

definetly hope well get some fairy pred eventually in the future~ fairies being my nr 1 monster girl pred obsession afterall xd

I'm happy you're enjoying the game ! Thank you for your support :D

Goldendevil21 wrote:First thing I will say is love the soft piano music at the start of the menu. This gets me excited to play the game. Also the artwork with a character laying against a huge belly is a great tease for what the game is about to offer.

One of my favorite little moments was when you talked to the guy at the river and he asked Bonnie what your favorite river is. A great way to show how boring this little town is to its inhabitants.

Liked how the game restricted you to the first part of the town in order to get the player used to their surroundings and are not walking around aimlessly for the first few minutes getting lost.

Also loved the accidental vore when you go into the basement of the Town Hall. Just really love seeing accidental vore. And in a nice surprise, you can actually survive the encounter. That is rare for a vore game and do enjoy that.

Also like how when you are in the forest, you can actually pick up berries and other items. This is a nice little touch that I wish more games did where they rewarded exploring. Maybe later in the game, you can combine these ingredients into potions yourself. A great way to amplify their affects of healing and mana recharge. Though maybe balancing it with once you go into the forest and strip it bear of fruits and mushrooms, the items do not replenish until you go to sleep.

Also love all the artwork for this game. The swamp bison really does look like a swamp bison. And the artwork for the ladies is also great. Especially the vore. My favorite was when Renoa ate the buxom harpy and your helper had to help you force her down her throat.

Though if I had a suggestion, add a feature that when you rest, you digest anything still in your belly.

Another suggestion is give your companion more lines to your actions. I just ate a harpy queen and she doesn't look at your belly with jealousy. No blushing as she is turned on. Or even a casual remark like, "Wow. Never seen a creature defeated like that. Are you human?"

And think I ran into a but when after digesting the Harpy queen, that your character still moved slow, despite waiting for digestion to kick in.

Thank you for your thoughts!
We're looking into more companion interactions. Please stay tuned for the next updates. Hopefully we'll have more content out soon!

I'll look into the harpy queen scene. It may be a bit wonky, especially since it's a different format than the others, so please let me know if there are any other issues with it that you find

I'll look into that. Hopefully we'll be able to put in a weight game system sometime in the future updates. Until then though, I hope you've been enjoying the game

We'll look into those bugs, and I hope the jeans thing isn't too immersion-breaking.

Either way, we're hard at work on the next update, and we hope to have it out sometime soon ! Thank you all for your support, and stay tuned !

Hello everyone !

Sorry for the quiet as of late. I've finished up a new update for the project, and I hope you all would be interested in trying it !

A couple major changes have been added which I should mention ahead of time :

- A new quest tracker, which you can find in the menu

- Fast Scenes, a new (and hopefully helpful) adaptation of Player-as-Pred Vore scenes in the game. If you choose to, you may enable them by interacting with the book in Reona's house. They're much faster, and applicable to all Player-as-Pred scenes currently in the game. Please let me know what you think of them if you choose to enable the option :D
circled.png
circled.png (69.18 KiB) Viewed 3723 times

- Some new Post-Drivieren content and a nice peak at the world map (3 new areas, 3 Player-as-Prey scenes, 2 Player-as-Pred scenes). I hope you'll have fun exploring these new areas !

- Some minor changes to stats, some interactions, and grammar/spelling errors, which I won't bore you with

Please let me know if you find any bugs/glitches, and if there are any other quality-of-life changes you'd like to see in the coming versions !

Thank you for your support, and I hope you enjoy this little update :-D

Fenna's scene seems to be unable to be triggered under normal situations, because the object property of the bottle that triggers the scene seems to be set to impassable, resulting in Reona being unable to step on it. x

The writing in this is...strange, to put it best. The tenses are odd and the dialogue is often formatted incorrectly. For example, sentences often end with a comma instead of a period in dialogue, and actions happening at present are described with "Would". Visiting the grave by your home is the best way to see an example of the broken sentences immediately. Examples:
" She passed away , "
" Okay , "

Aside from it being formatted weird, it's also just incorrect. It needs a '.' not a ','.
I don't see any mention of English not being a first language, so I'm not too sure what to attribute this to. There is a LOT of additional space in-between words, sentences, and commas, and it's all very odd. All of this is pervasive throughout the game, so 5 minutes will show plenty of it all. It's not a one-off typo or error.

As for the use of "Would" so frequently instead of having a more present tense, that could just be from personal preference and style. I'm not a fan of how it sounds, even if it's not wrong in any sense.
"Then she would draw her sword, preparing for round 2." As opposed to "You/She drew her sword, preparing for round 2."
"The slime would lose its strength." As opposed to "The slime lost its strength."
Not a fan of how it distances you from the events. Again, that's entirely personal preference, of course.
Please stop simping for scammers. It's not a lot to ask.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm working on fixing up any misfires/new bugs as they come, and a new patch should be out sometime this weekend.

I can't really guarantee an exhaustive list of scenes that will be kept up to date with every update. It's just a bit too much housekeeping work for a comprehensive list that would already be in the double digits

If it serves a similar purpose, I can list out each of the scenes added in with every new update in the log, just to make it easier to figure out if you have missed anything.

Thank you for the feedback ! Unfortunately, a full grammar overhaul really isn't that easy to do for a one-man army, but I do understand where you're coming from.

As things gain traction, getting another head willing to take some of the time to remaster the writing so far may be a possibility, and that may warrant more substantive changes in how scenes are written / punctuation / general style and prose. Currently, however, that isn't high on the priorities list, and there's an abundance of things I would like to finish gameplay-wise before entertaining the idea of taking on a writer. We'll have to discuss that prospect when we get there :D

Game is great, there are some minor bugs like e.g. you can get on Fennas house but generally pretty solid early game version. Hope in future we will get multiple preys :) or at least character THICCENING.

If I could suggest something I'd put some rpg pov on eating/sparing minibossess and bosses like Harpy Huntress and Pirate Leader. What I mean is provide some minor bonuses to stats if player decided to eat miniboss/boss but later add some importance to that character, like if you spared Harpy than e.g. she will come with aid in some hard encounter, or beating and sparing pirate leader would make you bit known amongst shady society of world giving you access to some services that could be useful but not available for goody heroine in that stage of game.

Once again. I wish you all best and I am waiting for further releases.
