VScroller by Pthalo (2D Pixel Furry Metroidvania)

Postby VirtuosoViking » Sat Dec 28, 2024 1:50 am

I recently found an artist that is making a 2d platformer game, and they aim to make it into a Metroidvania. Here's the link to their Furaffinity, as well as the game page on itch.io

It's currently only a demo right now. Version 0.1. You play as a bunny girl (I presume), and as of the moment, you can play the main game up to the first boss, and along the way you can encounter 4 different enemies, from male to female to feral, each with their own way to eat you. Such ways are oral vore, anal vore, unbirth, and cock vore. The artist has mentioned they plan to add more into the game down the line, including but not limited to things such as transformation and sex. There is also a sandbox mode where you can summon all the enemies, including the boss, and even more enemies that have not been implemented into the main game yet.

One thing that you can do in the game is toggle certain content. For instance, there is scat in this game, but you can go into the menu and change it to off and have it not show up. There are also plenty of other toggles you can change, but most of them are not currently in the game. But you can check them out to see what the dev has in store. Seems they have been working on getting a demo out for sometime, but I do not know how frequent they plan to update the game.

Yea, looks very promising, great pixel art and options for different kind of vore and aftermath too.

Some great pixel art animations and I'm a fan of the simple platforming and metroidvania style when plenty of focus can be put on the different enemies and traps.

The little icon in the corner on a game over showing the melting is a particularly fantastic touch, probably my favorite part of all animations so far combined with the fun little name change when digested. Although I could suggest it be a little slower on game over so we can get a better/longer look at the bunny turning to mush~

On the side, they also do pretty excellent 3D animations. One of my favorite artists in recent months.

I'll also point out that they have threads on the game on the itch.io page as well, including one where you can throw a suggestion for the game to Pthalo. No guarantees, of course, but you never know.

I hope they aren't too overwhelmed by the attention, because this looks great! :-D
Finally, a 2D platformer vore game I could get into! ❤

Played and it left weird static audio playing on my pc. I think a restart will fix it but that is inconvenient.

Edit: Nvm I'm just an idiot.

This is exactly the kind of game I've been craving so much. My focus has been on the Sandbox mode mainly, very simple environment but it's nice enough!
I've played a little bit of the actual game too (surprise), and it feels pretty nice but there were spots that looks like they would have secrets. I was almost hoping I'd be surprised with something popping out of the wall and nomming the bunny. Platforming was pretty nice, a bit slidey but I didn't have any issues with it. It'd be easy for me to get too hyped up about this.
Great that the vore animations have loops that wait for player-input before moving on to the next step. You can kind of set the pace for it a bit and enjoy your defeat.

As far as bugs I noticed:
1) When interrupting the vore action (escaping) it doesn't always reset the predator's dialogue or the character's avatar state (free, swallowed, digesting, digested). Gotta defeat the enemy to fix.
2) Not sure if this is intended or a bug, but with "Non-vore animations" toggled OFF in settings the rat predator's initial grab animation doesn't even play even though it looks like it directly transitions to AV (and I have AV toggled ON).

I'm so stoked for this game. I'd support it even if the creator put 100% of the effort into the sandbox mode! The animations are wonderful, it's clear to see what's happening and the sounds were such a surprising bonus. The variety in positions and "vibe" of the vore between predators is so refreshing too.

No game updates at the moment, but if you check out the artist's furaffinity profile in the first post (will probably need an account), there's animations for 3 upcoming enemies: A sap slime, a female bunny mage, and a male gazelle guard.

This is a really promising game they've got here. With the many toggles, it might as well become the most customizable experience in a 2d platformer, and I live for it.
It's.. crazy to me how much a change in dialogue and a different ending to an animation does for me. I'm not saying all games should be this extensive with their preferences system, because that's a big ask, but the mere existence of an endo/digestion toggle is enough to get me on board. Granted, out of the current vore types, only one appeals to me, but that's sure to change as more things get added.

Speaking of, each of these predators have a sense of personality to them, like.. I'm not sure how to explain it, but I dig the variety a lot.

Dev, if you happen to check this topic, please, I implore you, keep doing your best and don't burn yourself out. We need more games like this in the community.

They've been around since late 2000's, so I doubt that they haven't forgotten to do so.

Does anyone know what to do with the wolf lying in the infirmary? I figured there'd be a special scene if you land on her while jumping down from the floor above, but that seems to not do anything special.

I had a lot of fun with it for a 0.1 demo. Thanks for doing a sandbox mode, thats exactly what we should see in a demo!
