Bet, I'll check out Koikatsu then. If you have any advice or resources that you could share on using Koikatsu, I'd appreciate it!

Been following the development of AB for quite a while now and it has developed into one of my favorite vore VNs. Just came here to give a bump/shoutout and let the peeps reading this thread know it's worth trying it out. I'd recommend sticking to the AI art style (at least for AB) as I find it one of the unique selling points of this game. Something like Kisekae or Koikatsu while good enough will be comparatively more restrictive and less unique. AI tools are still evolving and I've seen some people on DA do some ridiculously cool things with it. Even if some art looks janky now it can always be patched or updated.
Hoping to see more updates on this game :D

Why didn't I find the arrow? I'm stuck with Leah now.

Leah uses the AV Mini-game. You'll want to hit Spacebar to lower her HP and balance stopping (i.e. regen health) and struggling (Spacebar). If you still have issues, lmk and I'll make it more coherent for the next build!

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I think some people have had luck translating this into different languages, but I know neither what they did nor how they did it. Tbh, I dunno if it's even been translated. I'd say machine translations for Ren'py?

Ty for the kind words and hype-up!

Not sure if it is a bug: cannot deliver pizza to campus gym (doesn't recognize completion when you go there), and then the campus gym is the only choice after returning to pizza store afterwards.

It is a bug, thanks for calling it out. It looks like I just forgor to put in the Pizza check. I've changed it on my end but it's just adding in a single line of code so I'll just post the code fix here.

Go to the game folder, then go 'scripts/Campus/Gym/gym.rpy'. Add in a break to the code on line 8, between the "This" line of dialogue and 'label gymTravel'. Then paste in 'call pizzaTime' (no quotes tho) into the code break. That will call the pizzaTime check and let you deliver the pizza successfully!

Another Bug: The WASD arrows in the Panic minigame mode seem broke. It brings up some console window on top that sits over the game, causes script reloads and other oddball stuff. You can complete the minigame, but all the flashing and console is annoying, feels broken.

Review of the game: I think this game is 100x better than the original. It's one of better games listed here and is properly fleshed out too. Very few annoying incomplete paths. I like how this game is open world, has quests, evolving story line and having to keep earning to buy reforms. In the game mechanics, I like how the mom gives you a few cheap reforms, and then after you use those up, you're on your own - game gets tougher like it should. I think the original game you go down each path and start over again rather than persisting in an open world. I haven't played it in a few years, maybe I'm thinking of another game.

The AI characters look excellent. Whatever you do, DO NOT remake the game in Koikatsu, those characters always look dead and bland, they all look the same - cookie-cutter style. Kisekae is better if done right and there is a rich storytelling/conversations, like egad's games or that game "The Company". Preferably, I like the uniqueness of the characters in this game exactly the way they are. Just make sure there is enough variety and characters don't all start looking the same, but with different hair color.

My favorite scenes are the more unique storylines and AI characters like: Administrator Topp, Syd ($10k trick), Wren, Jayline, Helena (UB), both demon girls, Kris, Elaine, Elizabeth. I really like the Administrator Topp interaction/scene, she's more realistic and intelligent rather than a typical mindless pred that gulps you down - with her trying to talk you out of it, having your back and supporting you, giving you every chance to back out. It's very different, which is why that is one of my favorites. The view of Negham standing over you after being let out from nearly being digested is really hot. I like seeing those views with power figures, you don't see them too often. The mawshot with Annabri where you are looking straight down and her legs/knees are showing, her hands are down is epic hot, like she's waiting for you bend down and willingly slide in. Normally, mawshots are either looking straight ahead, or down at boobs or her pulling you in, but I don't think I've ever seen one like Annabri. Keep up the good work with the unique looking views and scenes like that.

AV and furries isn't my thing, except for Kris. Not really a butt kinda guy either - I know others like it though. Would have liked to see more of Leah - liked her short hair look, but that was all AV. Would have liked to see more of the casino teller too, that was a nice looking AI - as well as the girl from the pizza store - all of them with some UB. The Helena's messy UB scene is pretty hot, something like that with the casino teller would probably be epic.

The AI/storylines ones that I thought were "meh" for me were Natasha, Alaina, Nurse Jackie, Agnes, Late Student, Mail Girl. Some of it is from the different style of AI that didn't look as nice and short scenes. I think the Mail Girl could have been much better with OV or UB - being a magical/power figure would make things interesting, like shrinking spells, mind control etc. Nurse Jackie, maybe too much of the wrong clothing on, can't put my finger on it.

Things that could be added/improved:

Disposal: I think there were many times in the text where the pred is pooping in the toilet and mentions it being completely full to the brim. Show it! Show the full 50lb of steaming muck/melted bones/skull so you can see what Professor Topp, Wren, Jayline, Annabri and the others turn you into. Always show the pred in the picture at the same time. Maybe show it with her still sitting on the bowl with her legs spread open to make room and in ecstasy filling it up/overtopping - or her finished and standing next to it with a post digestion look, tight pants/tight dress/thong on, or completely naked - the AI can test different views. Perhaps that could be a permadeath scene for each pred? It's one of those scenes you don't see often. I think I've seen it couple times in other games like "The Company" and "Caranina Creek" and both times with a filled bowl it was pretty hot. I think when people want disposal, they don't want to see regular-sized turds, they want to see something freakishly abnormal that would be expected with same-size vore. If people think it's too intense, they can turn disposal option to "off".

Maybe make random fight/encounters slightly more difficult over time, like 1 point more difficult next time. It forces you to try leveling up stats every now and then. They become a little more dangerous over time rather than repetitive noise. Maybe add more random encounters, and make some of them really rare/unique so it's not the same 2 preds every time. One scene I was expecting was the gaming supervisor at the mall that beat Rondo. I was expecting an older nerdy gaming chick. Instead of the furry route, add different types of species like elves, drows, fairies, green goblin girls, witches/wizards, alien/strange preds and such to prevent the characters from looking too repetitive. Looks like the "Gate" graphics are probably heading in that type of direction? Not sure how complicated it is to build that game. Is that something where you can add 100s/1000s of story paths and characters indefinitely, or does it get too complicated after a certain point?

Well, that's it for now. Game is highly recommended.

@nate99 Thanks for the notes and compliments! My main goal was to make more of a game than a straight VN so I'm glad to hear it's an improvement to the first.

For the sake of brevity in my initial message, I went ahead and posted my big response down here. Tho the top has a fix to the Console 'bug' so mb just pop that open and then bail if you want an ez fix.
Spoiler: show

The WASD 'bug' is an oopsie. In the main 'script.rpy', on line 10, there's a line of code that says "$ config.developer = True". I thought I shut it off before releasing the public build but ig not. If you comment it out, that'll turn off the console. You just need to put a '#' in front of the line of code (#$ config). Sorry about that!

As part of the .7 rewrite, I was going to 'finish' Natasha, Agnes, Late Student, and the Mail Girl's stories. I can try to add in a Leah encounter somewhere as well. The Teller is also planned to have an encounter in the Parking Lot, which I think I actually just got the idea for the scene I needed. Those were all some og test encounters (like An Older Woman) which still need to be cleaned up. Most of the fights need it iirc.

I can look into doing some hyper disposal. I can definitely do an overflowing toilet with the pred next to it. I had something like that in an earlier build called Wasted, where you'd get a toilet overflowing instead of the current toilet game over(if scat is enabled ofc). I never saw any preference either way so it didn't go anywhere too far and I nixed it out of precaution. If people want that tho, I can easily try it out again.

I can look into making combats scale. I'm currently trying to get a nice casual gameplay loop where stats naturally grow before you go against higher stat enemies in different areas (like the Quarter). I can make enemy stats grow each time you face them to make them more dangerous, I'm just a little wary about making them too dangerous, ya know? Rare encounters I can definitely look into. They're already used a lil bit with Ghost Girl Gwen but I need to implement more across the map.

The game is heading in the direction of more monster girls and fantasy elements. I've said it in the Blog Bog, but the current furry content is basically my limit. There's a few MGs planned inside the City but most of that content will live outside the walls. Idk if I'll do 100s/1000s of stories, but this game was designed to be pretty modular. Most encounters just need their variables defined and the mini-game starts with the game doing the rest. I'm unsure of how difficult it will be to build that game (or its file size), but I've also built like 8 random mini-games + stitched mechanics together thus far and I think I can do it a lil bit more!

Last thing, still undecided on when you will get to the Wilds. At first, I was thinking the Gate would spit you out into the Wilds after you escape, but then I wrote some other bits of the main story. Now I'm a bit undecided because I had a cool idea for a boss battle/end to 'season 1' of Acidic Boogaloo's story. So it'll either be climatic 'escape before it's too late, whoa where am I now?' type of thing or it'll be an over-the-top boss battle that'll be a bitch and a half to program. decisions, decisions

Thanks again for the notes and recommendation! Like I said, the Teller is currently slotted for a scene (eventually), along with... Joanne having a scene, Becca having the outlines of a scene, with Julia, Erika, and Lucy all being requested. I can add Leah into that list too! I'm always open to requests for characters/scenes or ideas for some new mini-games. Love making me some new zany mini-games
