You don't understand what you're talking about; I know exactly what this is, and I also know the difference between projects driven by enthusiasm and those created for business.
I am familiar with MMOs and their pros and cons, but that doesn't mean you should take all the worst design choices and use them as a foundation. Creating an infrastructure for hosting private servers—accessible via the client distributed by the author—would have been a great idea, but the author chose to pursue a monopoly instead.
I think the goal here is a traditional business model. Games built as businesses tend to launch well but then deteriorate, as priority shifts to product placement rather than the game itself. The creator's staunch refusal to open the source code or allow players to host their own servers is a major red flag in this regard.
I can already picture myself being constantly hounded by "uber-whales" who have spent every last penny possible on the game.

dude, it has already been stated that the only paid content is cosmetic and minor QoL, so unless you consider Team Fortress 2 to be pay to win because it also has paid cosmetics and minor QoL then neither will this
there will be no "uber-whales" that spent every last penny possible, instead you sill just get players with a bagillion cosmetic effects

This is just funny. This is also what I meant about keeping up with the project despite any misgivings you have with people. I'm not trying to chase away players, but these comments are... eh. Please don't let them get to you.

Regarding elements I'd like to see... day/night cycles, farming, hunger meter, pve against both animal and humanoid predators outside of players, with toggles to disable being swallowed by animals. I also like futa's cuz I'm perpetually weird and horny, so that would be cool too. Magic system and the ability to multi-class would be awesome. Professions and predation related items would be awesome too. Player capture and such would be awesome via items like rope, shackles, collars, nametags, etc? This could all fall under a bdsm toggle. Animal taming system maybe? Capture some unwilling prey to feed to a pet snake? I'm not a pred but I'd be down to see someone gurgle in something I tamed. Maybe a currency and bounty system to encourage trade between members and hunting large scale predators?

As far as races; Mousefolk (can be tiny or short like dwarves), Foxfolk, Dogfolk, Elves, Dwarves, Catfolk, Nagafolk, Fairies? Each race could give leveling bonuses to different professions. Humans could get a taming bonus and gain extra currency added by server in trades (like imperials in Skyrim), while some others give basic combat bonuses, that way every race can have some sort of playstyle they benefit or encourage you to branch into? Maybe races like Mousefolk and faeries have detriments to certain statuses, to get a larger bonus in others?

Anything you can do to implement skill based struggling and achievements on how many bellies you escape or achievments for ending escaping streaks would be awesome, as I like to struggle.

All of these are suggestions of course, so feel free to blow me off, as I don't know the coding requirement for what I ask. I would also recommend scouting for someone to manage server disputes, as when you throw enough perpetually online people with few social skills in a blender and hit the mix button some like to cause problems.

In order:

Day/night cycles and farming are not in the game yet.

Hunger meter, PvE against humanoid and animal preds, futas, magic system, multi-classing (sort of), player capture with ropes, taming, currency, bounties: all in game.

Mousefolk, foxfolk (kitsune), dogfolk (Canids), Catfolk (Felids), Nagafolk (Lamias), fairies are all in game. Elves and dwarves not yet.

Skill-based struggling: yes. Achievements: no.

This reminds me alot of the old horse MMO game about shrinking and eating stuff. Good to see someone trying to do something similar again.

And anything in the planning for more playable anthro types or can we just slot in our own pictures for character sprites?

You’d have to be blind not to notice the whales—the ones with their "minor quality-of-life improvements" and heaps of "useless" "cosmetic items."
Just how little self-respect do you have to consider this sort of thing acceptable when it comes to you?
As I said earlier, we very often turn to games seeking equality, yet even there, we are segregated based on financial status.

Hungry Dungeon is probably the most ambitious vore game ever made. This is a full-scale MMO with quests, dungeons, and an open world, all with vore tightly integrated into the game loop. You can eat enemies, but they'll try their hardest to escape - so swallow a friend and have them fight the enemy inside of you.

Organs are full game worlds, whether that's oral, anal, cock vore, breast vore, or unbirth, and you can do anything inside of them that you can do outside. If you're out of lives, respawn in a friendly womb, or use it to reset your skill points.

Your capacity starts out small, but you can train it over time, stretching yourself with bigger and bigger prey. Pick your favorite organ to digest with and take it as far as it can go.

If you prefer getting eaten, we still have something for you. Hide in an allied belly and cast spells from inside, dive into an enemy gut and rip them apart from inside, or just let yourself get turned into nutrients for a hungry party member.

Right now, we have three dungeons, five boss fights, 8 playable races, and 35 perks and unlockable abilities. That number will go up in the coming weeks.

We're not ready to launch to the public yet, but when we do, it'll be at https://hungrydungeon.com. If you want to help fund the servers (seriously please help, I've spent like a thousand dollars on this) we have a Patreon at https://www.patreon.com/cw/v_team_games, where you can see development logs and get perks when the game actually comes out.

To be fair,if you'd have better artstyle, like bucky o'hare snes game for background tiles and stuff at least then i'd try the game out 100%,proof of concept is nice,so when artstyle gets to quality then i'd gladly try the game out cause i love the concept of the game.

I do not understand why so many people are giving you shit for the cosmetic stuff and so on. Even if you make money off it, it still doesn't make sense to me since almost every single game I've played on this site has some form of donation incentive in the form of early access to content, extra characters, and so on. Like, actually powerful benefits that directly impact how you play. It's not like you're charging a subscription fee, you're just asking for help maintaining server costs which seems completely reasonable to me.

I would just ignore the lemmings in the chat or block them. They clearly don't have your best interests in mind. It's not like you're paywalling important game content according to what's posted.

It's just one guy who seems to have a raging hate boner against any project that has monetization in it. Like no shit, it's an MMO, money's gotta be earned to keep the lights on and large servers running. Though I don't suspect this game will see hundreds of thousands. Perhaps a few hundred at peak hours? This is more due to things being a niche fetish and not game quality. The biggest thing that seems to be "pay-walled" is a +5 to number of characters you can have according to the patreon. And pay walling character slots is just standard practice because characters eat up server runtime even if they're just sitting there doing nothing. And I'mma go out on a limb and guess the free play is anywhere between 1 and 3 characters.

Anyways, can't wait for sunday, I have one poorly made naga just needing to be colored to assail the image uploading system for this game. >:V

Alright, the playtest is live! Everyone have fun, but please remember that this is just an alpha. There are lots of bugs, and most content is unfinished. If you find an issue, please report it here or on our discord bug report channel.

Do you distinguish between a "donation" and a "purchase"?
While the former is a gratuitous contribution to a cause, the latter is a straightforward sale-whether it’s for access to special services, preferential treatment, or, as in this case, the explicit sale of "premium status" that unlocks advantages in an MMO.

I don’t mean to offend you with my wit, but nowadays, people have forgotten how to tell the difference between an act of goodwill and a trip to the store. I am a very generous person by nature, but I wouldn't "help" someone if the return was special treatment or premium status; that’s simply because it’s a sham—it’s nothing more than a standard sale of services.

I have a patreon tier just for that: you get no benefits in game, but you do get to help pay for development so others can play for free.

Let me reiterate: maintaining one's own servers-unless you are purchasing services from external providers (which is highly unwise)-costs next to nothing.
Your arguments are odd; there is a 98% chance that offline characters are nothing more than a line in a database-data that costs virtually nothing to store.
The most significant contribution-the one that truly matters-is the work the creator has chosen to keep hidden from the public eye. Ultimately, we are left with a closed project featuring paid perks for paying players (I fail to see how you consider this acceptable; perhaps for major corporations, though most sensible people have no interest in their projects anyway).
Even if I were to invest in this project, all our community would get is a "live service game" tailored to our fetishes. I haven't stooped low enough to tolerate in-game inequality, even in a game designed specifically for my "quirks." So, this isn't about making a donation; it’s about purchasing a service from the creator, with the money going straight into their pocket. If the project were open-source and support were provided on a voluntary basis, I would consider it worthwhile-but under the current setup, I do not.

As the game's creator previously stated, the graphics aren't very advanced at this stage, so for now, the focus is on evaluating its technical qualities—something I strongly recommend you do.

Right now, the gameplay feels something like this: I press a button and wait for the character to do something, but he either does nothing or does whatever he pleases—just not what I intended. There is no response to my inputs. Meanwhile, the enemies do whatever they want to me, and I’m helpless because the controls simply won't obey me.
I thought about ditching the character and starting over. But no, I couldn't find any buttons for that.

Reconnecting? Again?

The game forces me to constantly watch the damn timer; I can't minimize the window, or else I get disconnected. Reconnecting is a lost cause—you just have to reload the page and stare at yet another timer because... well, you messed up and ran out of lives.
Just great.

Well, in the end, my naive attempt to find an opponent who didn't outclass me in every way resulted in my character dying due to control issues—pings and reconnects, wonky pathfinding, and unresponsive UI interactions. All that just to escape the area—but no. My character only moves when he feels like it, and he doesn't feel like it.

I suppose this was to be expected. The server is likely so far away from me that it can't function properly, and its bandwidth is severely limited by the internet connection.

At the moment, I see the following issues:
- Pfft, paid services, of course—lol, that problem is probably here to stay.
- There is no immediate response to controls; the handling feels very "sluggish."
- After setting a direction, there is no visual indication of the character's path-like a line connecting the character to their destination.
- When combat starts, the player needs to be notified not just by an enemy appearing in the list, but also through a visual cue to grab their attention—perhaps a red glow around the screen edges.
- Buttons should provide feedback after being pressed to confirm they’ve actually registered the input.
- Post-combat regeneration isn't intuitive; if "Catch Your Breath" is the only method, it would be better to add an auto-cast feature and prevent the player from being disconnected from the server while the ability is active.
- There are no alternative language packs.
update:
- If you leave a location with a live enemy still in your stomach and enter an area teeming with foes you aren't prepared to fight, you’ll find yourself in a hopeless situation: the game won't let you leave the area because the enemy inside you is still alive, yet you cannot win the impending battle since you weren't ready for it. All that remains is to die a slow death, as there is no time left to take any action.

I consider the testing complete.
All in all, not bad. There’s something to it.

The game is great even at this early stage. Lot of fun just running around snatching monsters and an occasional fairy :D .
Just out of interest, what kind of an art style do you wish to have in a finished product? And will players be able to customize/create their own "resource packs"?

Looks like players can upload their own art assets. I just have to redraw my own so it "fits" the present round/toony style.

Just want to preface my comments with the fact that MMOs aren't really my thing, so that bias might seep into my feedback no matter how neutral I try to remain.

Congrats on the public playtest! I'm sure an insane amount of work went into this, and your efforts are seen (at least by me). Despite the early stages the game is in, it feels like the basics are there and are being well thought out. Once I actually figured out how to play, things flowed smoothly, although that's my first bit of feedback. A little in-game tutorial might be nice. You can figure things out by clicking buttons until things happen, but the first few combat encounters, and even just trying to explore, was just me going "damm idk man". The UI didn't really clue me in as to what to expect when I clicked things. At the least, I think action buttons should tell me how much energy they consume. Also, I don't know if the tactics pick up to the point it's actually necessary, but the 0:20 action increments felt really long to me.

I like the current art style. It's got a causal cutesy feel to it. The artstyle is also easier to conform to if you're creating your own sprites. Speaking of, the ability to upload your own sprites is a neat idea. If it's not capped already though, I'd definitely set an upload size limit though. I saw a 5KB suggestion quoted somewhere and think that's reasonable.

A slight suggestion regarding accounts, a password option would be nice compared to the magic link. This might be a security choice on your end since most people don't use secure passwords, but waiting 1-2 minutes for the magic link is slightly annoying. Not sure if the login system is entirely in your control, but passkeys could be another option if we're trying to avoid passwords.

Your plan to keep this game financially healthy is perfectly fine. There's drama every time a game monetizes in this space. There was also drama when that one card game dropped months back and said the same "gotta cover the expenses" line. Even hosting a server at home costs money in the form of electricity; I selfhost a Matrix server with 24/7 uptime and definitely notice it on my utility bill. Ignoring that, even if there were no hosting costs at all? Making a quality game still costs money and time. Asking for literally anything in return is reasonable.

Hope this game lives even if I'm not an MMO fan. We need more innovation like this.

Also one little question, is the connectivity diagnostics setting exclusively for debugging with a developer's help, or is it a telemetry thing I can turn on to contribute to statistics or similar?

This is for diagnosing serious client lag - it will slow your browser, so don't turn it on unless I've asked for it.

i look forward to playing this. my only issue i've encountered is the pages to even get to the creator creation let alone the account to link patreon are insanely slow making it unfortunite for me that i cant really even get past the forever loading character creation screen
