Re: Does Non-fatal bore you?
I think the main one is when people come out with things like this chat profile with comments like "if you don't like digestion you're underage or a virgin" and the like. The smug attitude of "my preferences are superior", essentially. It's the same attitude that you see from MLGPROGAMER types dumping on "casuals" for doing something they enjoy that isn't what the gamer enjoys.
My lil' monster character digests the absolute hell out of people on a regular basis and I still wouldn't want to play with the author of that profile. Not because I disagree with them or anything, but 'cause their attitude and tone makes me think they're an elitist prick.

Good lord. If that was half as witty and charming as the person who wrote it thought it was, it'd be twice as witty and charming as it is.
Anyway, you can have boring digestion and compelling non-fatal, everything's about context and quality. It's certainly not very impressive being smug and superior about your specific tastes in niche fetish pornography, at any rate.

Goodness me there are some odd people on this site.
I think it's particularly ironic that his profile has scathing things to say about guys pretending to be girls online, considering he's an extremely obvious case himself.

I find non-fatal vore boring and useless. My main vore turn-on is feeling that I'm (or other character) is going to be digested. The reality is that there's no non-fatal vore and it's impossible to get out from the stomach alive.

I prefer it. I like the ways people come up with to make it possible, like predators with specially evolved digestive systems.

Currently I was thinking about gastronautics - scientists who travel inside human digestive system with special devices and suits which make their jorney safe. Or at least, not THIS dangerous. Probably this counts non-fatal vore:)

Re: Does Non-fatal bore you?
Yeah, usually. I mean, sometimes I'm okay with reformation (depends on my mood, as well as the characters used), but the finality of the fatal route is a huge part of what turns me on so much about vore--like, once you've been swallowed, there's absolutely no going back; you belong to the pred forever.
I'm also just bored by a lack of digestion scenes in general. In fact, it's almost impossible for me to find anything that actually includes the things I seek in vore, and it's really frustrating.

Ofc it doesn't, it's the best part of it. But sadly there is never anything like it to find anywhere. I just can't seem to find what I'm looking for in vore, and it's really frustrating. I guess I'm the only person in hte world with my specific fetish!

Totally, 0 interested if it's non fatal. That mean regurgitation, reformation, safe stomach are off for me. Once the prey is eaten (whole and alive), it's gone forever never seen again, 100% dead. If somehow the prey characters is reused somewhere else it's bother me too.
I'm really picky for that. That's why I like random prey, so that I know it's over for it once eaten.

I have to admit even in my little one shot stories I prefer to use a different prey rather then the same. In a story of numerous chapters I'd use some of the same but not for one-shots.
Intriging answers from everyone, I see a few common reasons why and they do make sense. I can see a huge personality difference between fatal and non-fatal folk and that's interesting in-itself.
Edit: Oh wow I missed some stuff I see lol. Wow that Common Sense fairy profile.... How did Eka not ban that yet? That has to break some sort of rule, common courtesy at least?

I'm kind of in the middle. Fatality is a great ending to an RP, but it's just that. The end. An RP that goes straight from being eaten to melting away has begun and ended in the same breath. In the same vein though, there isn't a large list of things harder to sell to me than willing prey that are totally cool with being eaten. That's the truly boring premise to me. Non-fatal's fine as long as I still get to feel like I'm dominating the prey. I don't find anything satisfying about dominating a corpse.

Absolutely, for me vore has nothing to do with domination or submission or anything sex related so all the thrill comes from the fatal aspect of it and everything afterwards.

Even as much as I love fluffy soft non-fatal vore, I have to agree that I do not like prey that is willing for no real reason, no reassurence from the predator or anything and they are overly willing, sometimes even more willing then the predator. I like a layer of realism and a feeling of worry from the prey of what the pred COULD do to them.
No offence to peeps who like totally willing prey, I used to like it myself but slowly began leaning towards the sense of possible danger.

Re: Does Non-fatal bore you?
I'm honestly surprised at how strongly so many prefer one side over the other. For me, they're both just different tools in the same toolbox that have different uses depending on what a story needs.
Fatal is good because it's more animalistic and really drives in the fear for the prey.
Non-fatal is good because it allows for things like full tour and "flesh imprisonment" (aka. being trapped and imprisoned indefinitely as if the pred's body were a cage/jail cell of sorts), or even if you wanted to simply feel the closeness to your pred that vore implies but without the horrifying dangers.
So - probably right smack dab in the middle for me.

This. Plus, the extreme emotions of fatal stuff can be exhausting sometimes. And casual vore is something I have to be in the mood for.

I have nothing against those who like non-fatal.
It's just I like the idea of digestion and weight gain too much.

Weight gain really depends for me. I hate it when people make the pred gain tons of visible permanent weight just from one meal - even people eating 6000+ calories won't bloat up into a blimp in one day.
I like it best when the pred is entirely unencumbered (aside from maybe a little bulge that is typical even in IRL of someone who has just had a hearty and very filling meal) by their prey, and can go about their day completely naturally afterward with no discernable difference to outsiders. If they had the prey for lunch, they should easily be able to have dinner that day without being too full - that sort of thing.

That's where we differ, then. My primary fetish is weight gain, and I like the idea of a pred carrying heavy layers of fat.

I escape reality in two ways, by venting and relaxing. I vent by playing video games and vore is a better tool for relaxing and enjoying the idea of a nice fictional character. There's already too much selfishness from others going on irl to bring it into fantasy as well.
As for the discussion about willingness, I agree that willing prey only works if they know the pred beforehand. In fact, willing prey only exists for established romantic partners in my world.

Dominance can also be expressed through non-fatal, though. The dominance/submission part is also part of the appeal for me, I guess.
The posessiveness, finality etc goes out of the window though.
