A new addition to this thread, thanks to GBBG: Seagulls!

You think this gull can't handle a dry swallow of a young rabbit half the size of it's body? Think again! :gulp:

I'll share another gull video, this one if you turn up the volume loud with headphones on you can hear eating sounds and a gulp at 0:23.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tbf7oYHkGxU

Of course, since the chicken isn't alive anymore, it's not really the best for this thread, so I'll post this one as well. You can see the fish struggling inside the bird's throat!

That's worth an embed! Wow, I wonder what it feels like to have something that strong thrashing inside their bodies. Excellent find, GBBG.

Another old video that I don't think was posted yet, and it's a good one. An egret takes advantage of a bucket of live mullet left unattended - and swallows two live, wriggling fish one after the other.

I've found some rare seagull videos. I noticed out if you memorize the words for "seagull" and "eat" in different languages you get different results from google :)

These are some video results from the search, posted because they were difficult to find.

Great Black Backed Gull Gulping what I presume is a cygnet, but not sure: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ewD-BtNgHfE

Herring gull eating some kind of bird: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P1fpDhTFKt4

Big Fish: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pg3D2jpxChg

Another bird: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f60r0vXBCU8

Pigeon gets swallowed (It takes a long time to get it down) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CMrHGF4Pbfo

And one I liked, even though it's not whole prey, you can see the throat bulge sliding down at the end of the video. Too bad it cuts before the gull was finished swallowing >.> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ceEJPerWlwk

That's it for now :gulp:

Here's an interesting video - a very determined gull swallows a live snake! It takes him a couple of minutes to work the reluctant meal past his beak, getting some applause from his audience when he finally manages to down the wriggly reptile. :-D

The applause is funny. I like how he had a drink afterwards to wash it down.

Here's one that I haven't posted yet: two GBH's spend the afternoon feasting on hefty gophers. I like the soundtrack to this video, too. I just wish there were more close-ups of the swallowing.

Here's one I know GBBG will like... A LBBG downs a very large chick without much trouble. I love the way they toss their heads as they gulp their prey down. :gulp:

There are a few good swallows in there, but it's too bad they cut away during some of the scenes :|

I've seen the gull video before, I do like that one :)

Here are some videos I haven't shared on this thread. You can see Skuas (gull like seabird) eating chicks, really well in the videos. I like the way they bolt them down. :gulp:

Alright, I'm going to bump this thread, even though I think Fallenfox and I are the only ones posting now...

Here's a young seagull gulping a crab in slow motion, at 0:28. You can see a nice throat bulge as it goes down, although the gull moves out of the frame before he's finished swallowing.

Here's an eagle, for a change (sorry if it's not appropriate for this thread), if you turn up the sound on this one you can hear the bird eating :gulp:

Nice one - what a symbol of vorish freedom! :-D
The audio is good too... kind of a slow and quiet "CLK, CLK, HLIK, HLUK, HLOK" rather than the very fast and greedy "CLM-CLM-CLMMPH" of the seagulls.

Yeah, I love videos with sound. Unfortunately I don't know of any other good bird videos with sounds like this, I think this one and the one with the gulls were filmed by cameras with especially sensitive microphones.

There is this one from the same poster, but as the gulls are eating potatoes and spaghetti it's kind of disappointing. You can hear sound, though.

Stumbled across this video the other day of a pelican swallowing a large fish. It has a bit of a hard time trying to swallow it sideways then finally gets it down towards the end with a bit of help from the fish flopping at the right moment. :3c

Awesome find, I'll embed it.

I just love it when the prey "helps" with the swallowing process. :gulp:

Here's a video of young herring gulls swallowing multiple tiny fish at once. I thought it was interesting how many they were eating in a single bite.

You know, that is a really great idea! :) I went on google and looked through images and found a good source image of a Pelican about to catch something in mid-air if someone wants to use this for collaging or whatever. With very little effort someone could edit that fish to become a Mermaid, which the Pelican had nabbed out of the water and tossed up into the air.

https://i.pinimg.com/originals/97/d9/5b ... c3e642.jpg

Another good idea could be to replace the fish with a skydiver or a group of skydivers in formation, or whatever. A good backstory for that could be some prankster with a shrink ray decided to play a prank on the skydivers by shrinking them and it was just meant to be a joke and they would restore them back to their normal size, but things go awry because a nearby Pelican just happened to be witnessing these events and though the Pelican did not understand how such a large target suddenly became so tiny, its instincts immediately kicked in and it went to capture this shrunken person or persons in its pouch. And before the mortified prankster can do anything, the Pelican flies off with its meal ready to be digested.

In this awesome clip a seagull subdues and swallows a good size squirrel despite an attempt by another squirrel to intervene. The two other squirrels watch intently as their friend is swallowed whole. Thanks to the camera guy for zooming in a bit as the gull works on getting the furry prey fully into his crop.

Cool, I haven't seen that one before. Interesting that the squirrels didn't seem very afraid of the gull even though it swallowed one of them whole...
