Notice: Planned downtime for hardware installation
So that everyone knows, we will be having some downtime sometime either tomorrow or Wednesday ( Dec 5 or 6 if everything according to plan, during US Central time Business hour) for some extra RAM and Storage installation.
You guys might be noticing some occasional outage on our server. Mostly a result of SQL access saturation, which is due to a year-to-year 25%~ increase in traffic since 2012 when this server first deployed. Which means we are processing about 300% traffic compare to 5 years ago.
We overspec'ed the server quite a bit back then, but it is still not enough especially for the amount of RAM and I/O. So we are adding a new SSD to replace the aging spinning disk for Database and doubling the RAM. That should last us at least two years. Which we will most likely opt for a new server at that point.

Is there a place we can throw money at to make the new server transition in two years easier? I don't make a lot, but I can throw in a couple of bucks.

The site has to be offline for a bit and there will be outage. I often check the site for any new messages.

Hopefully it won't be for long, and it sounds like a useful update, I've had a couple of those errors myself recently.

So I assume Aryion.com and all related services will be down, then? Or does the chatroom run off a different server?
I hope everything is backed up. I'mma cry if our profiles and gallery submissions disappear due to an unforeseen mishap. D:

Everything is run off the same server except Discord at the moment. So everything will be down.

Re: Notice: Planned downtime for hardware installation
I was experiencing the SQL errors myself and was quite confused about them, but I didn't think much of it at the time (thanks to a certain other site which throttles the amount of none-paying members allowed to use it at a time if there's too many on at once), but I'm glad to hear the site is getting a hardware upgrade. I hope everything goes well, Eka.

You know. Commenting. Engaging with discussion. Keep it friendly and helpful and encouraging. Etc.
Also server should be back. More work will be needed later.

Yes it already happened. We are using all the new RAM.
Will take some time to move database to SSD but we will get to it later.
