What is your opinion about Choose Your Own Adventure books?
Have you ever read one yourself?
(I've read quite a few goosebumps books.)
Inspired to make this topic after I read:
http://samizdat.cc/cyoa/
Do you favor medieval fantasy, science fiction or ordinary Slice of life?
If you could see a vore one, what do you think would be a good ending?

Re: What is your opinion about Choose Your Own Adventure boo
I remember there was a goosebumps one where the protagonist turned into a mouse and got swalowed whole and alive by a snake in one ending. Read that when i was a teenager, I was just like 'holy shit, vore" the whole time, was cool.
hey, can we call them "Chews" your own adventure? because sorta vore-pun?

There’s one called “Help! You’re shrinking!”

I love choose your own adventure books and interactive fiction in general. I would love it if we can customise the main character even more though...

I like them a lot, and always have. Besides enjoying the medium legitimately as a cool way of making a story interactive, I've also become very interested in the various demises that they can bring to the protagonist.

I read one or two of the "D&D" CYOA books. I found them mildly entertaining but strictly limiting. IE, they almost never offered the choice I wanted to take as an option.

Re: What is your opinion about Choose Your Own Adventure boo
They're great, I've mostly read the Lone Wolf books.
The problem I expect with trying to make a vore CYOA is the same problem that keeps cropping up in a lot of the amateur games in the game forum: putting in "you got digested" endings where the game (or book) stops, interrupting the flow. This creates a contradiction between "see the vore content" and "keep playing".
Remedies:
-IC try-again and carry on due to reforming or similar
-OOC try-again of "turn back to page 227 and pick something else"
-predator-oriented game
A good ending might be one where the protagonist is fat and happy and has eaten all the enemy bosses.

A good ending is one in which the player's favorite character has eaten them, and thoroughly enjoyed doing so.

I visualize the ideal online choose your own adventure story as having a fixed number of story options and outcomes, but in the beginning you can customize the character to fit the way you want him or her to be. One story chain would be for preds only, while the other chain would be strictly for prey.

I also read the Goosebumps ones when I was a kid. They were the only books I wanted to read. My favorite was the carnival one. I also read some Nintendo ones. One was based off of Wario Land 4. Another was based off the GBA remake of English Mario Bros 2.

They're a lot of fun, but the fetish stuff is never intense enough for me because they're not meant for that sort of thing. That's why I liked Writing.Com so much, but they've kind of screwed that up with their newer policies.

I used to read those books all the time, since they were sort of my groove. I've since always enjoyed interactive stories such as the type on Writing.com, and I would not be surprised if these books were a major inspiration to my current Roleplaying and Writing Styles in general. The idea of Choice is always a potent one I love to see expressed.
Always hungry, never enough~!
