Eva's initiative in the sex scene is determined in large part by your affection. You may need to burn off some affection to take the lead yourself.

If you haven't yet, check out My Discord. A couple of the guys put together a fun extension to Zoey's scene, a good way to get your fix, with additional benefit of prodding me to work on this more.

A word of advice to anyone who is new to Discord, if you are using the Web version you should only use the invite link once and once only as this tends to create cloned users, for your 2nd visit just travel back to the main Discord page and log in as normal and your linked servers, including this one, will be available.

Is there a trick to the practice games at the higher levels? I find the random number god to be quite vicious and spiteful whenever I try to grind EXP. Also, what is the trick behind Zoey's stat grinding. Sometimes she says she can't raise a stat, other times she can. What determines whether or not a stat can be raised?

I think with Zoey it doesn't let you upgrade the same stat twice in a row. As for the practice games it all depends on your current VP level as well as that can both detract and help you in the Manuever and Massage bonuses.

For Zoey, there is a hidden cost to upgrading a stat. It is loosely related to your Zoey affection levels. The basic premise is that you shouldn't be able to upgrade multiple times in a row, unless you've neglected raising that stat through Zoey for a while.

For practice tricks at higher difficulties, I've found that spamming the Concentration game tends to be the most efficient, as the stomach strength doesn't scale with difficulty, just the distraction chance and potency. So you can conceivably do the concentration game pretty regularly at high difficulties, even with middling stats.

By the by, as it's been a long time since I've mentioned anything in thread, been chatting up in Discord . . . Progress has been very good. Motivation has spiked and I am a solid 50%-60% through the next scene. I am unsure as to whether the next release will be with the one scene, or if I'll push through. There are only 2 mainline scenes (counting thew one I am nearing completion on) until the game's main story is complete, plus one side scene that I want to have ready before the game reaches it's finale.

As always, if you want more details, or just want to hear me complain about how badly I've spaghetti coded my game, feel free to join us in the DIscord, information on the OP.

Yeah, you haven't seen my games. Eva will go 2 hours in a row without letting me regain SP. Also I keep getting the message where I lose SP for screwing up so much.

Depends on which game you're playing, the Concentration game and Gwen visit do have rest sp blockers.

What is empathy used for game mechanics wise?

Mechanics wise I don't think it has a purpose yet but it does end up unlocking another practice game with Eva and likely is involved with various endings the game will have at completion of the main story.

Empathy does in fact have an impact on mechanics, however it is slight. When you perform a Maneuver your chance to get a VP related trigger proc is normally a 1 to X chance (I can't recall the max bound value off the top of my head). If your the randomly generated number is less than your VP value, you will get VP dialog, whether that be low scaled penalty, high scaled penalty with choice for voluntary digestion, or forced "voluntary" digestion is then based upon your VP levels.

Empathy serves as a counter to your VP total in the first check. So instead of the check being to your VP, it is a check against your VP minus your Empathy. So if you have Equal Empathy and VP, you will NEVER see the VP related dialogues, while still having all the benefits that VP gives you, primarily a higher Massage Bonus.

If I get around to it, I will probably change the way it works just a little bit, such as having Empathy lower the chances for forced VP digestion. For now that is pretty back burner. I intended for Empathy to have minimal gameplay effect, but to still be a nice little bonus for people that wanted to do the special scene with Gwen.

Also, as UBFanDrake mentioned, Empathy will be directly linked to what endings are available to you. I personally recommend preparing a save with 0 empathy as well as a save with higher empathy before proceeding to the next progress game (which I promise, I am working on).

If it is any consolation, low empathy will only be needed to find one of the endings, and it will not be the true/best end that you'll miss out on.
