July 13, 2015 - Goodbye, Mr. Iwata

I was at work on my break at work last night when I heard the news. It feels like a piece of the world is missing now.

What's going to happen to Nintendo?

To be honest, nobody knows at this point. Nintendo just lost their president (and he was probably also their most inspirational dude) and I highly doubt they're going to find a president with that kind of ability.

So let's hope that Nintendo has prepared well enough for this to not affect them as greatly (although knowing the major companies, that likely hasn't happened) and can find a new president in time to save themselves, because if they don't it's only a matter of time before they fall apart.

RIP, Mr. Iwata, and may your soul find eternal peace and enlightenment.

Yaeh, this was a huge bummer, i've been listening to Earthbound music since I heard, and letting my Ness and Kirby Amiibos beat each other up in honor of him. R.I.P Mr. Iwata. He left us some truly great games to play.

Regarding leadership, judging from their current Representative Directors, the only candidates for company president are Shigeru Miyamoto and Genyo Takeda. Miyamoto isn't going to want to be president, so it looks like Takeda is going to get it. And I know nothing about him.

I wondered if any on the Yamauchis are kicking around. They founded the company back in the 1890s, but their last president, Hiroshi Yamauchi died a few years ago.
