I could never be a professional writer.

I would never meet a deadline because I only write a paragraph a week. For some background, my first story took me 7 months to complete. I guess what I'm saying is that while my motivation wavers, I still stick with it in the end. I'm also saying that writing is a surprising laborious task for me. I used to look down on fanfiction as "too easy to do" compared to fanart. It's clear to me now that both activities are a huge pain in the ass that require a lot of skill and patience. Thankfully I don't have a huge following of people begging for more content (shoutout to all 4 of you!). I'm sure everyone will have forgotten about me anyway by the time I eventually submit my next project (which I am working on). But that's okay though. One thing I kept in my mind as I write stories is that I'm doing this for myself on my own time. If others like it, then it's a plus. But I do it all for personal satisfaction....

And maybe the attention, admiration of my peers, and the possibility of meeting new friends. But yeah, totally for personal satisfaction too.

Silver lining is you're still doing better than George R. R. Martin who likes to keep fans waiting for five plus years or Valve, which dropped all plans for Half-Life 3.

Ha! Yes, unlike Martin or Valve I can confirm I'm still working on a project. However, like Martin and Valve, I have no idea when it's coming out. Hopefully soon. And by soon I mean some time before the new year. Hopefully.
