Might Be Leaving, Maybe?

Posted by IrateLiterate 4 years ago

Have I lost passion in working on art? No.

Have I lost passion in posting art I do online? Yes.

I just haven't been happy in so long, I've been irrelevant and forgettable and past what I could charitably call my "prime" for even longer. Maybe it's a sign I should just delete my stuff and leave. I feel so disconnected from the community that it just makes me wonder why I'm still forcing myself to try and stay, in the hopes that I might fit in somewhere?

I wish my complaints about you leaving weren't as focused on myself. I've felt disconnected from this community from day 1, and that's why I've spent all these years just lurking. Now I'm finally trying to reach out and get involved, get connected. I can honestly say you always seemed like a pretty down-to-earth person, and that's really saying something when it comes to this website.
So I guess I hate to see you go, because I never got the chance to talk? Maybe that's not as weird as I'm making it out to be.
Hope you find a reason to stick around, and if you don't then I hope you find what you're looking for elsewhere.

Many of us here will miss your work, but you shouldn't feel pressured to do art just to please other people, your enjoyment comes first. Maybe one day you'll change your mind and want to share your lovely creative work with the world again, but until then I don't think anyone here would want you suffering for our sake.

If you want to leave, then I wish you the best. Have a wonderful life, I want you to know I've enjoyed your work and the time you spent here.

And in that sense I beg you not to delete anything. We've lost so many wonderful pieces to artists who up and merk their profiles, I want to be able to look back fondly on your work and enjoy it years later.

I ask that you don’t delete your art. While it isn’t much I don’t forget you ever, nor your art. I am a watcher of yours for a reason. That said if you feel the need to leave then that is your choice. A sad choice but your well being matters more than me enjoying what you share. Whatever you choose I hope it will help you feel better

Irrelevant? That's surprising to me. I've got lots of watched artists but yours especially is art I get excited to see in my feed. Is there anything your fans can do to make you feel more welcomed and connected?

Losing passion for posting art online is something a lot of artists go through. I myself have as well. There is a lot of stress associated with putting yourself out there.

That being said, let it be known that I would be quite sad to see you go. Even if I may not comment on all of your work, I always look forward to what you put out. I think appreciation and recognition are what we all need in life, especially as artists. I only hope seeing all the people here on this site that admire your art lifts your spirits up some.

I'd suggest just doing things for the people you love :3
Find some happiness where you can and try to stay positive. Everything I would have said has already been said by others.
Life comes first, if you don't enjoy that, there's not much you can.

The community will always love your art though.

Well, it's up to you at the end of the day but I would stay. I felt like you do now a couple of years ago. I was just going to drop out and give up since all my work never seemed to get enough attention. But, you have to remember you do have fans and friends who would miss you and your work. Maybe you need to try somthing new to spice it up here? I started a new series of images and more than 2/3 of them are well liked by old and new people here alike. I have been here for ten years to and in march I will be 33 and the people who run this site may even be as old or even older than me. You should not let your age worry you and just draw what you want to share with other younger people here who you may inspire! I am not telling you what to do, and you can do what you want, but don't do somthing you may regret later on down the line. Plus, I told one of my friend this before "even if you only get one fave or comment that is a win and you made someone a bit more happy due to it ^^"

I would prefer it if you stay. I love your art. As for community, I'm not connected in any way and personally don't want to be but it's up to you.

It sucks that you've lost your passion for this sort of thing, but I've never cosdidered you to be irrelevant or even slightly forgettable. You've been posting for what, 6 or so years on this site? A lot of people here, lurkers or not, remember you and your art.
If you feel unsure about the quality of your work, then by all means take a break or work on other things if that's what you want, but I need to assure you that some of your recent work has been some of my favourite pieces from you, and honestly it was always a bit exciting to see you pop up in my feed.

I would ask you not to nuke anything though, it always sucks to see someone go but if you take your stuff down as well, it's harder for us to appreciate what you created, and it's almost like you were never here for those who are new or haven't seen your material yet, and it just kind of pours the last few years of work down the drain. Plus, artists who take a break do occasionally get their mojo back, and if they've already razed their entire galley it can be disheartening for them and their audience. As far as I'm aware it doesn't cost you anything to leave the gallery as it is for however long you don't feel like touching it, so if you wanted to walk away from it, you could just do that.

I'm just a lurker here tbh, so I can't say much for the community. It seems good and supportive of people's art, but I don't know if I'd aim to have too much of my social life here. Up to you, that one.

I'll be sad to see you go. But if leaving is what you truly want, then I can't stop you, no one can. I wish you a happy life, if you choose to leave, and that you can continue doing the artwork you love.

I hope you don’t leave, or delete your work, since I very much enjoy it. But do take a break if you need to, even a really long one. I know that in my almost 20 years of hanging around the Portal and its predecessor forums for unbirth stuff, I’ve had times that I’ve disappeared for a year or more without posting, and have spent the vast majority of my time lurking, but that hasn’t made me any less a part of the community than the times I was writing something new every couple of weeks. Take some time away if you need it, do your art for just yourself for a while, and we’ll be glad to have you back anytime, whether that’s a month from now or a couple of years.

Like folks have said before, your decision is yours to make. While upsetting, it would be far greater for you to pursue happiness than to stick around and be miserable. And while yes, we would appreciate it if you didn’t delete your art (it’s made it’s own reputation here, don’t you forget <3) we would be completely understanding in your decision to remove it, as simply having art being posted that was made while you were miserable may still be an emotional burden.

Regardless, I hope you’re able to find happiness with whatever decision you chose. You’re a human being, a person, so you deserve to be happy!

I'd love to see you stick around, but if you do leave...I'd really recommend that you make it absolutely clear that you're leaving but NOT to delete your stuff. If anything it would prove that people around here still have interests in it as a gallery.

sometimes, even years after you've posted them, i do come back to your older art pieces, i always appreciate their cartoony, friendly take on vore, and your original widowmaker/tracer pic is still one of my favorites, along with the shorts of your mini-giantess characters interacting with the normal-sized plebeians of day-to day life

it'd be a shame for all of it to just be gone. i hope for your sake that you'll be able to figure out whats keeping you down and move past it.
having recently seen youtube animator Scottfalco's reflection on the year video, its shown me that focusing on the view numbers all the time can be detrimental to one's health at times, and maybe if you're feeling that none of what you make for the community seems to capture the same views that they used to, that's ok, maybe you can make stuff that YOU yourself wanna make for the internet, not just the vore community or whatnot. maybe going back to your roots and making more MLP stuff and the like can help?

i feel the site as a whole has slowed down a fair bit, so dont take it on yourself if you arent getting the same views as before, your art page has a total views of 5 million, and thats nothing to scoff at.

I don't quite understand the idea of a "prime" that you can be past in the endeavor of creating vore artwork, and I don't believe that you should view your own current trepidation regarding posting your art as a failure to fit into the vore art community.

While I would like to reaffirm what others here are saying that you're your own person and should never feel obligated to produce for an audience, I also wish for you to know that if you choose to go, you will be missed. If you do end up leaving, please drop us a link in another blog post so that some of us can continue to give you support from time to time.

And you'll always be welcome back in if you reverse that decision later.

Hey as a person who loves the work you do and bring to this community, I hope you don't leave us. Most of all it would be a really big disappointment and bummer to have you remove your entire gallery if you were to leave. In a sense that's part of your history, you can't remove it because many people have no doubt downloaded it all, but those who want to see it in the future will be unable to. Plus it's a mark in a sense, because your style as a artist has, without a doubt, changed and even gotten better.

I hope you don't leave this community, your content is something I look forward to and perosnally....I appreciate your artwork here on Eka's.

I think taking a break from something is never a bad thing. Find your chi (so to speak) again, then reevaluate if leaving is really something you want. Maybe you are just not feeling well right now (emotionally) and need some time to regather yourself. Nothing wrong with that. Just don't make a hasty choice, because take it from me. When made in haste you regret it far more then had you thought about it and taken some time to breath. :)

It's all up to you. While I don't always connect with everyone, that's OK. The thing I would suggest, if you leave, don't take everything down, just leave it up for those who come after to enjoy. That is what I will do if I ever decide it's time for a change.

Choose whatever feels best for you, but don't delete your profile. 1- you may want to return to it one day, if you leave, and it'll be hard to start from scratch to build up people who look at your stuff. 2- there's always at least a few people who enjoy your stuff! It feels sad when someone who's work you admire suddenly removes it off the face of the Earth.

But take whatever time you need to better yourself, find people to help make you feel happy. At the end of the day it's your choice, but no matter what you choose, I wish you the best. :)

Don't leave, maybe take a break, but honestly you're not past your prime in my opinion you're still going strong, your art is still incredible and you're one of my favorite artists on here and have been a huge inspiration to me and to my friends. You're in a bit of a funk but with time and a fresh perspective on things you'll realize you're not being forgotten or left behind. To start with post for yourself not at the expectation of others, post when you want and what you want, and look at all the comments you've gotten on here. Clearly we all still love you think you're one of the best!

So please take some time, talk with some people, do things you enjoy, but don't be rash and delete everything, you'd only regret it later. We all love you and want what's best for you.
