Current context

After finished my second animation, I felt burned out: tired of doing sketch-like frames from time to time, I couldn't keep a constant pace as to do most of work in a few go's. Wanted to take some breath and try continuing/making commissions, but I fear I can't do that without prolonging the process. I want same "free" time I had when making my first works of this year, "Make it fit" (my four pages comic) for example, didn't take too long because I had enough time for it, same for first commissions I've done.

Things are different now: a person I'm working (actually helping) for, asked for "vacation" to their boss so they could have more time to advance on home projects that you'd mind calling professionals to do them. That means I have to spend more time away to help that person. Quarantine (even though you have this clear) has caused serious struggles everywhere and you hope to atleast find some help from your close ones, this being the case.
I'm not obliged to explain this, but I let you know. My last (three) works were simple stuff, but why do I make such content this moment? My two LONG hiatuses (one before getting my tablet and other overtaking most of last year) leave me a bad taste considering all content I would have done. May sound like I'm forcing myself... right? Actually, no. My last drawings came to existence because I was in a good mood and got a bit of free time between "work" days (and I kinda wanted to speed paint too), but they were single flat panels, not complex with shadows, lights and backgrounds, and I'll keep doing that kind of stuff when I can as a way for me to relieve myself.

I'm postponing commissions, not canceling. I don't feel in a good position to deal with serious business since I can't find proper time for it.

...I feel like making excuses, it's annoying to be honest. I just have to wait the solution for all this, I can't push it.

Hey, sometimes life happens. Nothing wrong with that. Explaining this to everyone isn't making excuses, at least it doesn't seem like to me. Take care of yourself first and foremost, work/life issues second, and art third.

I think you should just relax and do art when you feel inspired. Don't push yourself!

I understand exactly what kind of place you're in. I know I'll look back on this year when the crazy is all over and think to myself, "I could have done so much with all of that free time," but the simple fact of the matter is that it's difficult to really drum up the inspiration and the drive when your Hierarchy of Needs is failing in the Security bracket. If you can't work, then you can't work, it's really that simple, and I think anyone who really values the work you put out will also appreciate the fact that you're willing to stand up and say, "I'm sorry, I can't work right now, I'll post when I can when I can but I can't do commissions yet", rather than falsely claim that you won't have a problem and then make some troubled pieces that you'll feel pretty rough about later on.

Take all of the time you need, Dolphy. Loyal fans like us will be behind you all the way. You return when you're ready. ^O^

I can understand, take a rest if it's too hard. If you have too much job you will be unable to make a good draw. Even commissions are hard to draw.

No problem post-poning. Forcing yourself just risks burnout and then there won't be anything getting done, people should be able to understand that and remain patient. Like you say, you aren't canceling people's slots. Just pushing them up a little further.
I don't think there's someone here pushing 90 years of age and can't wait because they risk dropping dead any week now.
