Taking a little break

Hey everyone!

First off, I want to give a huge thanks to everyone who has been reading and keeping with my story, Survival of the Fittest. It's just so gratifying to know that so many people are enjoying this story that I came up with. And I know having to wait for each chapter with no set release schedule can be rough, and that makes it all the more difficult for me to announce that I've decided to take a little break from Survival of the Fittest.

For the better part of a year now, I've been working on this story using the chain method, which, if you're not familiar with it, means I write a little bit each and every day without breaking the streak. Usually I try to write 200-300 words a day with 100 as an absolute minimum. And I'm proud to say that, since I started it, I haven't broken the streak once. But the downside of this method I've discovered is that it can often be fairly stressful as I'm constantly reminded that I have that obligation looming over me every day. And, frankly, I just need a break from it. Don't worry. This story is my baby and I want to see it through to the end, I just need a small break. And since I estimate we're about halfway through the story now (give or take), and with the end-of-year holidays coming up, I figure now would be a good time to do it. So for the rest of the year I'll be taking a hiatus from Survival of the Fittest to recharge my batteries, as it were. But come January 1st I'll be back writing saddle again, so you can probably expect the next chapter around mid-January (i.e. two months from now). I'm sorry, I know that's a bit of a wait, but I really want to take some time off and make sure I don't hit burnout.

And that's not to say you won't be seeing anything from me for the rest of the year. I've got another World of Witches comic commission that should be coming out at the end of this month, and I may release one or two more short stories (though I'm very much taking a "when I feel like it" approach to writing them).

Again, I really appreciate everyone's patience and I hope you all look forward to reading more of Roxanne and co.'s adventures as much I enjoy writing them. Take care!
