Game Update: Nonbinary Player Characters

Posted by heromc 2 years ago

Hey y'all!

With the choices in the new start screen, you can now finetune your character a bit more. Better pick your gender identity, looks, and naughty bits!

Play as a lady with a big shlong, a gender neutral chubby person, or however else you'd like to customize yourself.

As a cis dude I can't say that I'm the most knowledgeable on the subject, but I hope that I've done a reasonable job at giving people the options they need to play as the character that they want to be :)

Just as always I hope you guys enjoy the game, and if you wanna chat about it, come say hi in the discord server. We bite, but gently ;)

Wanted to try the new version, but I get a "Potential Version Conflict: 0.6.1.7 - 0.6.1.8" message even on a brand new save. Do I need to erase my other saves to avoid issues?

Also, speaking of saving, I can't seem to copy a save file into Slot A. Tapping "Save File A" under Settings does nothing, unless I'm already on file A.

While I'm on the topic of bugs, some minor ones I noticed in the previous version:
• I have a save file with 45 Fight and Feast, despite not putting any Achievement points into those stats, and not eating anything with Feed above 30. Should that be possible?
• I can't get "A Hungry Bee - B" under "Who Has Eaten You", even though I fed myself to one twice without any character in my party eating a bunny.

And while I'm posting, spitballing an idea: An option to get the Slurpable trait (or some equivalent, like "Appetite-Stimulating") as an Achievement bouns.

Thanks for all your work developing the game.

I'm working on the save issues, but not having much luck. It's a very clunky system that needs a rewrite.

That should be possible if you'd gained any appetite.

Not too sure why, I'll give that some testing soon.

"Wiki Guide" wrote:
Increased Appetite improves max stats including HEALTH based on species.

That would explain the stat boosts. Don't understand how it interacts with "Max Stat = Starting Stat + Feed Stat of devoured"; but I won't worry about it.

Hope you can resolve the other issues.

On further testing, saving to Slot A works fine in Incognito mode, and on a different device. Must be some kind of cookie issue. Can I export the data and PM it to you?

Also, another odd issue: Feeding myself to a companion gives messages like "Woooo!!!" or "Victory" on my phone; but on my laptop, I just get "Game Over".

On that topic, a feature request (low priority): a "Retire" or "Give Up" option on game-over screens, that erases the save file and takes you back to the main menu.

Just tried a new game in an Incognito window. No more "Version Conflict" message there; but it still appears on my main profile (whatever the word is).

Somehow managed to erase slot A on phone, so now I don't have the Version Conflict message there; but I still can't copy other files to that slot. Haven't managed to repeat the phenomenon elsewhere.

Strange phenomenon on phone:
• I load File B.
• I tap Settings.
• I tap Save File A. Nothing seems to happen.
• I tap Load File A. This takes me back to gameplay, in the same place I was on File B. Nothing seems to happen if I tap Save A at this point.
• I tap Settings, and Load File B. This takes me back to game play, in the same place, naturally.
• I tap Save B. This brings up the usual save menu, and seems to show that File B was successfully saved to Slot A.
• I refresh the page. Now the same data that was previously in Slot A is back.

Save issues seem to be recurring. Almost seems like there are particular "unsaveable" tiles and/or encounters. Wish I could send you my saves so you could experiment with them. Hope you can sort it all out regardless.

Is it possible to get a Willing harpy inside the harpies' castle? I've had no problem with drow and wolves, but with harpies I must have tried about 20 times, and the first harpy I find inside is always Unwilling.

If you aren't finding one, then probably not. I can't remember any special coding for that effect though.

Guess it doesn't matter much.
