Review of ひぐらしのなく頃に Posted 14 years ago
Hi!

There are various reasons for me to do this review and to do it here, including that there are some aspects that may be interesting fetish-wise for at least some members. But let's stick to the proper order:
My first reason for writing this review is probably because I really like ひぐらしのく頃に (Higurashi no naku koro ni; Literally: When the evening cicadas cry; suggested in the original: When they cry). I first encountered it in the anime version (only the first season), and in my opinion, it is the best anime series ever.
The second reason for writing this review is the phenomenon of ひぐらしのく頃に. The fact that there is an anime version is quite...

Emotional perception is a strange thing Posted 14 years ago
Hi!

Finally making the move, I bought the sound novel ひぐらしのく頃に(Higurashi no naku koro ni). I had seen the first season of the anime quite a while ago, but at the time, I couldn't buy the sound novel as they are using one of those copyprotection thingies. Now, with a computer of my own that is online, I was finally able to make the purchase.

For those who do not know Higurashi, it is probably one of the best anime series ever and I greatly enjoyed it. I am currently in chapter 2 of the first sound novel, slowly getting close to the catastrophe of that chapter. The sound novel was there first and the anime was based on it and follows it relatively strictly (although the sound novel does not use any...

Happiness and Christianity Posted 14 years ago
Hi!

I know, this is a rather weird and misleading title, especially if you consider that I am a genuine atheist (meaning that I actually believe in atheism rather than only leaving institutional church while still believing in their God), but I couldn't think of a better one. This entry has two focus points, which are, of course, the two items mentioned in the title. Thus, it is not solely directed at people concerned with Christianity, but also anyone who has something to say about happiness.

EDIT: The two focus points are Happiness in general and Happiness in context of Christianity. I do not wish to discuss Christianity in its entirety as that would be a discussion filling thick volumes and thus exceeding the limits of a simple blog. I am sorry about any...

Things trickle on Posted 14 years ago
Hi!

Well, no new productivity to report, but things are still looking good.

The Japanese forum seems to see some tentative activity, which I hope will get more intense.

I just finished going through Danger Angel (a non-freeware title I reviewed for a minor hint of vore in my thread before). Unfortunately, there was no further vorish content in it, but at least it was fun. It was a fairly standard RPG story, mixed with a lot of sex, and a really hilarious main character. Towards the end, there were a few scenes I found rather sad, but in the end, I am happy with it.

I am also glad that people were understanding when I retracted from a discussion I was involved in.

Currently, I am thinking about Albinator427's...

Just some loose thoughts Posted 14 years ago
Hi!

A lot of things have been going on, so I feel the need to express a few things.

First of all, I am grateful that some members allow other members here on the community to help them. That is something I feel should be the spirit of this community, so please, if you need help, do rely on us. We are happy about it.

Secondly, while there are people for whom I have gaining appreciation, there are also people about whom I have learned things I would rather have not wanted to learn (thanks to discussions on the forums, NOT in blogs or PM). But then again, given that we are sharing our art and feelings here, knowing that they are so different from me may help avoid deeper mischief.

Third, I am still thrilled that I got productive again. Sure,...

Things are looking fine Posted 14 years ago
Hi!

I am glad that I can return my blog to its original purpose after the rather bleak entry last time. While the thing from back then is still not over for my heart, I am moving forward, so let's not talk about that anymore.

Instead, I want to express that I am really feeling good right now. Getting involved in conversations here on the forums, I even drew two quickie images, one of which was at least enjoyed by people (the other has not been around for long, so I am still full of hope). I just have to watch out for The_Prof and his beating stick (shouldn't that be a paper fan?) :) :) :) :) :)

I decided to tell my laptop's hard disk to get defragmented... well, I guess I have done smarter things before (^_^;;. Fortunately, the browser software...

EPWG Blues (Warning: Ugly Rant!) Posted 14 years ago
Hi!

Originally, I didn't want to use my blog to rant, but this here is something I want to say somewhere, and this blog is probably the best place to dump it. Yes, it is a rant, and it is not really useful, so move on.

Anyhow, I finally got around to participate in our Writing Group - and now with all things said and done, I am a bit disappointed.

Okay, I knew that my writing is not really something for the masses, but given that I got a sugar deal for it (since I was to receive only 2 official reviews, I was also only obliged to write 2 reviews myself, fair enough), that was not really what was bothering me.

As far as I can tell, the deadlines have passed, and the second official review I was supposed to get is nowhere to be seen. Okay,...

Things progressing slowly Posted 15 years ago
Hi!

After getting so many supportive responses, I should try more to keep people up to date. Things have been going rather slowly right now, though.

First of all, university has devoured a lot of time last week as I had to give a presentation (10 minutes) on Australian colonial history - a topic I first had to read up on. Now, I am "looking forward" to reading the 280 pages of Truth and Bright Water until next Wednesday (^_^;;

Secondly, MTS released his first game at DLSite.com and besides enjoying the game for its own merit, I also felt obliged to spend time on getting a good impression so as to write a proper review of it here (I had to reduce my expectations in that field due to time constraints).

Anyhow, I have...

Game programming - hooray Posted 15 years ago
Hi!

Okay, I know I shouldn't do this, but I am just too happy to keep things to myself. Besides, if things do turn sour, I might still have something to pass on.

As I mentioned a while before, I have been having a close look at Wolf RPG Editor, a genuine freeware RPG engine.

After a little break, work on a small RPG has been progressing quite well - or at least as well as could be expected. However, I am taking full advantage of the possibility to program most core routines myself and am still preparing the basic system. Still, the way things are progressing is making me quite optimistic.

I already created the basic inventory handling routines (without item usage, though (^_^;;...

Female self-marginalization? Posted 15 years ago
Hi!

While I still believe that Amalia's effort to create a place supportive of female members of the vore community here at the Portal, its somewhat aggressive stance had me worried. But I had told people concerned and people interested about my worries and had kind of sat back and decided to watch how things develop.

However, the recent discussion there has raised some points I feel I can not simply ignore.

First of all, I think there is a small misconception there about "man's fantasies". Just as women are a diverse group, so are men. And given that vore itself is a very diverse fetish without a clearly defined boundary (just recalling how some discussions about what is vore and what isn't tend to develop), our community, and...
