Plan of Attack Posted 5 years ago
Good morning! I thought I'd give you a small bit of info about where I'm headed, how soon I plan on being back in an apartment, etc. It's useful because the sooner I'm back and settled, the sooner I can get to work on a regular schedule again!

Right now I'm staying with a friend in Columbia, South Carolina. I'll be leaving tomorrow morning to head for Georgia to visit another friend, and then down south near Texas for a family visit. Once I've done that, however, it's pretty much a straight shot up to Oregon and back to my home city where I can apartment hunt on the regular. I'm hoping to hit Yellowstone National Park along the way since it's been another one of those bucketlist items for me, but if I do I'd only be staying a day or two before getting back home.

Going Back Posted 5 years ago
So this is something that, as far as I am concerned, is pretty difficult to share. I'm sorry if it gets too mushy.

I applied for an RV loan, and I got denied. Not because I don't have good credit or a large enough deposit, but simply for the fact that I don't have at least 2 large loans on my credit history. I was denied because I have not, in the past, taken out any large loans to purchase vehicles (or anything similar.) I was literally denied for having lived my life within my means and never having taken a risk like that before. That, as you can imagine, is not something I can fix overnight.

Tobi and I have had a long and thorough discussion about the situation. I've been sick with a monster of a cold for over a week now, and have been having trouble sitting up...

I have depression. Posted 5 years ago
That's not news, and neither is the fact that I have a slew of health problems that get in the way of work. But in the last month or so, I've been having a lot of trouble getting work done. Not mentally, mind you, because trust me the drive is there, but when it comes to the physical... it's a pain, to put it lightly.
In order to work, I need a few basic things. I need somewhere to sit, somewhere to put my tablet, wifi to upload my work, and power. Currently, I have none of these things.
For anyone not in the know, I live in my van. That means that I have a bed and a small shelf, and everything I own stuffed in there with one other person. Not the worst, right? Except the bed is too high and I have to hunch over in order to sit up on it, the shelf is too small and in the wrong...

I've been living in my van for an entire month and holy hell this is hard. It's getting easier, though! I just think I've been needing some time to adjust. The workload is getting a bit easier and this last month I even managed to get some progress done on my next comic, which is great. I wish I had a bit more to say other than "Hey! I'm okay! I'm still working and I'm adjusting to the new lifestyle but I'm here!" except I don't :'D

Patreon
Patreon has gotten TWO new tiers and a small pile of reworks. I'm now offering postcards to folks that want them and separating the deluxe art packs from the basic stuff. If you want to check it out or you've been considering supporting me sometime, hey guess what now would be an excellent time!

June 2018 - IM MOVIN Posted 5 years ago
I don't have a whole lot of new stuff to say, just a reminder that I'm currently MOVING and will be both sporadically available and have a slight delay on any messages. Below is a set of reminders and a bit of an update on what my Patreon work entails, but other than that it's all business as usual.

Patreon
Currently, Patreon work will entail a large focus on comics. I want to be able to put out two new comics by the end of the year, and this next month is gonna be full of focusing on those projects. I've got plenty of ideas so I hope you'll stick with me and consider pledging to make that happen. It'd be great!

Commissions continue, for the forseeable future, be patrons only. Additionally, no commissions this month!

March 2018 - Not So Healthy Posted 6 years ago
Finally! February is over and I couldn’t be more thankful. I ended up getting pretty sick a few days into the month and have been desperately attempting to recover ever since, which is still going slowly. It’s gotten to the point that I’ve had to work while laying down, which is both uncomfortable and slows me down a ton. I’m still hanging in there though, as best I can. And being forced to lay down so often has left me thinking quite a bit lately, about the way I upload and the workload I’m putting on myself. It’s caused me to really sit down and take stock of what I’m capable of, what I’m not, and more importantly, to think about what’s important to me. So in light of that, I’ve made a few decisions that I’d like to share.

Patreon is now my main...

February 2018 - Yard Sales Posted 6 years ago
Congratulations, we all survived January 2018! I hope that, for the most part, there’ve been a lot of positive changes in your lives. I know I’ve made some good strides going forward (for instance, I’m working on being more patient with myself and others) and if I’m lucky, the lesson will actually stick this time.
I’m actually writing this journal update while sitting in my future home, parked in a Rhododendron garden. There’s a beautiful view of the city from up here and I actually saw two extremely rare woodpeckers together during my short walk around the grounds. It’s so quiet up here and nearly completely surrounded by huge trees; I feel pretty peaceful.
Lately almost everyone I know is wrapped up in the new Monster Hunter, which is really cool to watch! I chose to pass...

January 2018 - Happy new year! Posted 6 years ago
Good evening to those of you that are stumbling out of bed after a lovely new years' party! I myself celebrated by driving 4 hours to get to my favorite fast food chain (In-N-Out!) and it was totally worth the back pain and leg cramps. You do what you have to when you crave California but you live in Oregon.
I've already gone into greater detail about what to expect for this year in this journal update but here's a brief rundown of what to expect in January specifically.

Commission Dates
January 8th for Patrons, January 15th for everyone else.

My Store has been updated, with a good chunk of art that's available for purchase....

End of 2017 - Important Posted 6 years ago
Hey everyone! It’s almost the new year and I’ve been doing a lot of thinking. I haven’t… had a choice in that, considering how sick I’ve been the last few weeks (my health took a nosedive but I’m pulling back up!) and I think that there’s alot to be said for the coming year.
As I’ve mentioned earlier this year, I’m going to be moving into my van in the next year, a few months from now. This is by choice, not due to financial straits or anything! But this is also going to mean that I, as a person, need to make some changes to my art and the way I do my work. This is going to be a really long update but I hope that it explains a lot of things and leaves us all refreshed and ready to move into the new year.

Vanlife
I’m moving into a van! And it’s hard for a lot...
