Digestion is not currently occurring. You can speculate that the wolf will get out of this with a whole skin or will be rebirthed as a Mer hybrid at your convenience.

Strega - 6 days ago

Maybe that's how she convinced him to stick his nose in. 83

Strega - 6 days ago

Just some. Our hero Lars simply got unlucky, he ran into an UB pred who presumably led him on into getting slurped.

Strega - 6 days ago

As seal fat?

Strega - 6 days ago

It depends on the predator, but the general rule is that an UB pred basically has a second stomach (the womb), can’t have kids due to the above, and has a connection between the womb and intestines to allow processing food eaten that way in a fairly normal fashion. Large indigestibles are spat back out of the pussy but the rest goes through as food typically does.

That is always the safer approach. It's how all three of Natiq's lovers were able to confidently approach him, actually.

Strega - 8 days ago

The issue may be that the odds of getting a smart kid are better when you aren't boinking a full animal, though the odds of getting a talking kid are quite good even when the kid is only quarter Mer.

Strega - 8 days ago

A plain old non-talking leopard seal bull, all battle scarred and very willing to hump her whenever she shows up. Which is apparently all she needs or wants from the relationship. 83

Strega - 8 days ago

Mer are well known for getting it on with humans, but that's generally the classic merfolk variety. There's no reason a man couldn't get it on with Calliope there, but she's quite large and hungry and it would likely end badly for her human suitor. 83

How Mer hybrids are made 3

Strega - 11 days ago

Mer are well known to fuck pretty much every sea mammal, up to an including orcas and baleen whales (though with the really big ones the whale either barely notices what's going on if female or is being jacked off by one or more Mer if males). Seals, sea lions and dolphins are the very top of Mer to-do lists, with orcas and polar bears one step down and a whoooole lot of critters filling out the rest of the list. Mer are basically even hornier dolphins who live a long time, get bored easily and like variety.

Strega - 11 days ago

Lots of them. We see a lot of critters who can talk (at least to each other) but there are plenty of critters that are no smarter than normal animals. Consider Norbert and Charlie the sea lions, as well as some of the ones we see in my beach series, and in general any pred that doesn't need to talk to its prey like a lot of my bears.

Strega - 11 days ago

Other possible disagreements: Natiq pointing out that if she keeps eating her lovers she'll run out or him disapproving of her banging some critter that isn't able to talk. "I'm not visiting with him for the -conversation,- Dad."

Strega - 11 days ago

Or repeating his mistake with the wholphin and ending up beached for days as she slowly digests a too-large meal.

Strega - 11 days ago

I could see her not listening and then learning the same painful way her dad did that swallowing certain of man’s things leads to a very uncomfortable few as whatever it is tries (and maybe succeeds) in leaving the back way. 83

Strega - 11 days ago

Cleo was very cautious around Natiq at first and for good reason, but their daughter brought them together and as you see she trusts him completely now. He already had a reputation as someone who can be trusted not to eat people under certain circumstances, and this just confirmed that "If he wants to have sex with them" is one of those circumstances. Maybe there's genuine love involved, maybe not, Mer for their part are pretty flighty and maybe Cleo just likes sea leopard dick, but however you shake it they seem to have a working relationship now.

Strega - 11 days ago

That is also likely to be of small consolation to the man whose legacy is to be a burp and some new mermaid hybrid fat. 83

Orcas eat plenty of dolphins in the Stregaverse, but there’s a lot of other stuff that goes on too. Including dolphins who like their lovers big. 83

Oh, and she’s a she. Seal bits are so far south nothing shows from this angle.

Natiq eats lots of people. On three separate occasions he's has sex with ladies after eating their suitors or lovers. He sort of makes a habit of it. Blame the dolphin that got him started on it. 83

It's simple enough. Hybrids like to bone full ferals or other hybrids because the bits line up better. Hybrid daughter gets it on with random leopard seal male, taur results.

Strega - 2 weeks ago

I’ve considered that the leopard seal Mer-taur may be the result of Nariq getting it on with his own grown hybrid daughter, but incest is a bit much. 83

A lot of attempts at harmless fun end very badly for the Mer. The leopard seal hybrid and taur we’ve seen recently sprang from a Mer approaching an unusually friendly sea leopard. Many such attempts to court big, dangerous predators end in a burp. There are a few polar bear-Mer hybrids but rather more Mer have ended up as polar bear fat trying, for example. 83

The ocean is a big place. The beaches where the preds keep things secret (Slide by the sea) may not be in the same setting as the ones where people laugh as their friends are eaten (One thing leads to another). And then there are the intelligent polar bears and other animals such as the ones at Tame Camp. I guess they can all fit into one blurry setting. 83

This pic has a pretty good take on a seal-Mer hybrid: https://e621.net/post/show/117701/2011-anthro-anthro_on_anthro-big_dom_small_sub-bod

Strega - 3 weeks ago

I should draw a quick primer for Mer. They appear only rarely in my work but there is one who's shown up a few times, Qilal the dolphintaur. A sketchy drawing of all three times (classic, animalistic and hybrid) would help clarify matters. I also need a better word than 'animalistic.' I might just call those hybrids and have taurs as a rare offshoot.

Strega - 3 weeks ago

The root species of Mer have more or less human upper halves, the classic merpeople. Animalistic Mer are ones with animal-like features on their humanoid half. Some of them look like orca or dolphin or shark merpeople, which is probably a result of some of the aforementioned "very good relations’ a few generations back. Otter, sea lion and seal merpeople are almost as common, because Mer in general are pretty broad minded about who they’ll hop in bed with. 83

The implication is there is no real time monitoring of the suit, which means they just don’t know what happened to the scout. By the time they send another our hero will be thoroughly digested And there simply won’t be any evidence to show what happened. I’m sure there will be speculation that sending someone that fond of the setting was a mistake.

If real time monitoring is developed and appropriate predators are found, something like the Tame Camp system may develop in which people get sent in specifically because they want their visit to end in a burp. 83

Snake can, and a lot of reptiles, and a lot of fish, and there are some mammals who are pretty good at it (like hyenas). Most of my swallow whole preds digest bones just fine because it's a bonus superpower they get with the gulping ability. 83

In at least one story the characters mention finding clothing "disocolored by exposure to sea water" which of course was discolored by something else. Recovered wallets and cell phones are also mentioned. Presumably the wildlife poops in the ocean so there aren't great piles of used-to-be-human around.

It's not unheard-of in nature, fish eating birds sometimes have a fish tail hanging out waiting its turn and I saw a video of an alligator swallowing an iguana that ended with the iguana's hind legs and tail hanging out because the gator's body cavity was stuffed full of food and it had to wait for digestion to make room for the rest.
