There are lots of animals in the Stregaverse who only sate their sexual, not physical, hunger with people. They just don't get as much press. For example there's Bart the badger in my D&D world, he hasn't eaten a person in a story yet, though he's threatened to. He's sure boned a few though. 83

I’ve used the "butt against floor and so unable to keep pred from forcing its jaws over you to the waist or so" in various pictures and stories over the years. In a couple I’ve even had a pred pushing the victim’s feet against something, having swallowed them to the knees. It’s an old favorite. 83

So far I've done an orca, a sea lion and a dolphin. Maybe a sea otter?

I often include some stomach light source, usually a partially digested cell phone from a prior victim. It's nice for the prey to be able to see a bit and the phosphorescence kept the sea lion from having to pass an IPhone. Not that it would mind given the size of the thing, it would barely notice. 83

The xsir are brutally pragmatic and not everyone likes them, but they aren’t like the Arachnids form Starfire who ate everyone they beat. Most people accept that you need a dispassionate hand at the tiller when you are making the really big decisions and that is,one reason they are the "most equal of equals" in the Commonwealth.

What happened to them Hestans is mentioned in this story: https://aryion.com/g4/view/350845 basically the Enemy made the Hestan core worlds the focus of one of their main offensives and while they were eventually beaten back, the hestans suffered such massive casualties that after they are a shadow of their former selves.

Strega - 11 months ago

They've all gotten drawn at one time or the other except the xsir. The xsir are a semi-hive-mind race (the more that are in direct contact the smarter they get, an individual one is pretty dull). They are the most populous of all Commonwealth races and one of the three founding races, the other two being trisstans and hestans, the latter of whom who suffered very heavily in the Great War and are much less prominent these days.

Strega - 11 months ago

Again, depends on the situation and how illegal eating people is where it happens.

Strega - 11 months ago

Mwee are all about body mods. Even vanilla swallowing whole of a man-sized creature takes a mod and UB and CV take multiple mods. Painless digestion is high on the list of mods practically all mwee get and it's certainly in their ballpark to have bodily fluids that enhance prey behavior they enjoy. It's pointless to have prey stress out when they are going to be reformed anyway and most mwee aren't into violently struggling prey.

Mwee don't eat just everybody, or it's more proper to say they don't eat the same person randomly unless they are considering hiring them, at which point the prey will be allowed to remember its experiences. Adja is considering offering "you" a job just as she did with the man in the Spaceport series.

Many Commonwealth officials know exactly what is going on with the mwee but a strong independent trade network is very useful and in a society with over six thousand species there are weirder things going on than liking to (relatively) harmlessly eat people.

Strega - 11 months ago

Depends on the situation. Non-mwee crew on their starships and mwee employees in general are usually willing prey and remember everything. In other situations they have to keep it on the down low and erase memories.

Strega - 11 months ago

Mwee have the best medical tech in the setting. They've invested a lot of time and money into transporter-based reformation since they really like to eat people but aren't keen on killing them. 83

There are magic devices and spell that could protect you. In fact they appear in a story I've been working on. A dragon would most likely spot them and take them from you, though, and this dragon has no interest in being nice to you.

Strega - 11 months ago

Digestive systems do not work that way without a lot of magic or an invulnerable prey creature. You'll go through them all right, but you won't look much like you when you come back out. 83

Dragons are a law unto themselves and one difference between a good and evil one is good ones are more selective about who they eat. Evil dragons will eat anybody they want to and on the other end of the scale the more Good ones will make sure you’re a ne’er-do-well before they swallow. 83

It's called tame camp for a reason. Hundreds of people cycle through it and none get eaten. Getting eaten there usually requires you wanting it, like this woman, who for her own reasons preferred a hyena's digestive tract to living on.

Strega - 1 year ago

There is a safety briefing when you get there and one of the first things they say is "Don't offer yourself up as a meal to the animals. They may take you up on it." The people that do get eaten are usually ones who went to the camp with the express plan of having a new fur coat. A lot of them do change their minds halfway in, but once the offer is made the animals will do their best to make sure it can't be retracted. 83

Uvuzi is far from the most powerful person in Monstertown, she's a small fish. Even in her stories she is considerably weaker than her sister and usually has to use trickery to get the drop on tough prey.

She has a pretty robust stomach, I expect dragon spooge won't cause any issues. She was very very careful to swallow every drop since dragons are notoriously fertile and she doesn't want any of that getting near her sex. 83

Strega - 1 year ago

I could see it happening with an animal that isn’t happy where it is. Cheetahs in general have pretty miserable lives and get stolen from by everybody, so they would be a good contender, or a male hyena since they are the bottom of the totem pole in their society.

There are a number of deep sea fish that do that. Some swallow prey so huge they can't digest it before it decomposes and the resulting gases bloat them, causing them to rise to the surface and die. That's how we first learned about them.
