The Werewolf and the Lean Dog
A cool evening breeze could be felt across the countryside that was slowly filling into darkness. The sky was quickly becoming an almost sinister black canopy void of any stars, with only a pure white full moon and grey clouds to spread across it. The scene was probably fitting though on this night though for tonight it was Halloween and on the earth below a bizarre was about to unfold and one beings life would be changed forever…
A solitary wolf emerged from the dark forest, his yellow eyes gleaming with the reflection of the full moon above. But there was also another more sinister gleam in those bright eyes though, one of excitement and anticipation for what was about to occur. A shiver ran down his spine and his chestnut body shook from the thought.
He could remember the previous scene clearly: he had approached a dog, a black Labrador to be exact about a week ago. It had been surprisingly warm for an autumns day then and the dog had foolishly taken the opportunity to sunbathe outside of the safety of it's masters back garden. He had left the forest, much like he was doing now, searching for potential prey and had noticed the dog. He was going to take the opportunity to eat the dog there and then, but the dog had `persuaded' him to delay his feast, having made a very good point: he was far too skinny and lean at the time and would surely taste terrible, to put it into the dog's words.
So he had been offered an ultimatum; he would delay in eating the dog in return that the dog would promise to gain a few pounds by this Halloween evening. The wolf hadn't decided on this date for any old reason though, he had a very good reason for choosing this date, for on this night, 3 years ago now, he had contracted werewolf disease. Since that night, every Halloween he had transformed into one of those beasts and had been driven by an uncontrollable, overpowering instinct to hunt for prey and only until he found a single that would satisfy his hunger, he would remain in that accursed form.
So it had been an convenient moment for him when he had come across that lean dog a week ago, for now he was assured of a meal to satisfy his hunger tonight and hopefully, his experience would be over quickly. He knew the dog would obey for he had warned, that if he did not give himself up willingly, he would be torn to shreds and die a horrible, painful death, but if he did give himself up willingly, he would be devoured while and alive, without the threat of digestion, he would be sustained, inside the wolf's stomach, until one of their lives came to an end.
Patiently, the wolf waited for the dog come out and meet him at the edge of the forest, for that was the deal. He knew the Labrador would come, he was a fool if he did not, he had already warned him, that, should he attempt to run or come forth willingly as planned, he would be torn to shreds. Though he had to admit, although he might've used the excuse that he was a werewolf to justify his actions, he probably would've eaten the dog anyway had he not contracted the disease.
Sure enough, the wolf's suspicions about the dog were correct, he was no fool and he soon smelt the dog's…enticing scent on the cool evening breeze. Soon after he had caught the scent, he noticed the dog's black silhouette approaching from one of the houses on the hill. He found himself excited by the dog's approach, whether it was his own behaviour and feeling or merely a sign that the time for transformation was approaching he was unsure, though it was probably the latter, he could feel his heart and pulse rate increasing steadily by the moment and it was taking quite some self restraint not to show it.
Finally the dog made it to the edge of the forest after sometime, it was a long stretch between the houses and the edge of the forest though, it was evident he had merely been delaying the inevitability of what was going to happen. Still though, he had come willingly and so the wolf would try and show as much restraint as possible once he transformed and ensure the dog was not harmed.
Although he couldn't see the expression on the dog's face when he arrived, it was evident that he had also kept his end of the bargain and was considerably larger than he had been a week ago. It confused the wolf somewhat; he had not expected the dog to be able to attain such a satisfying girth in the space of a week.
“My master's daughter was married during the week and there were plenty of scraps to be had.” The dog said, apparently sensing the wolf's surprise. “Not that I mean to rush, but now I am here, I would rather we get this over with.”
The wolf grinned widely after the Labrador spoke, it seemed that they were both eager to start as soon as possible, albeit for very different reasons. “But of course, what need is there for pointless delays?” The wolf replied licking his lips somewhat unnaturally. It was almost time he could feel it. “But first, let us proceed deeper into the forest, I would rather we be safely out of sight, now, if you would be so kind as to follow me.”
The dog doesn't reply, merely follows obediently without question. It was amazing how you could control people when they are faced with there own death, the wolf thought. He didn't waste anytime in making it to his den in the forest, for it wouldn't be long until he transformed. In truth, the reason he had decided to proceed into the forest was for the protection the trees offered. They stood tall, all around them, towering far above the dark ground of the forest and offered some protection from the menacing light of the moon, he could even go as far as to consider them temporary guardians, while he used what self-restraint he could, to stall the transformation. When they finally reached the entrance to his den, the wolf turned around to face the dog, his pupils already starting to expand menacingly as he prepared to let go of all restraint.
“I have one last question I must ask you before I begin.” He said to the dog, starting to pant and drool heavily. He knew from experience, that the transformation would be painful. “Head or feet first?” He didn't intend to mock the dog, it was a genuine question, a reward if you will for the Labrador coming willingly.
“Wha-er-feet first.” The dog replied, his eyes widening as the wolf finally let go of all restraint and allowed his body to do what it may.
The transformation was not a pretty sight or experience. The wolf's fur steadily extended, growing in length into a thicker, courser double layer and his eyes turned a bright menacing yellow, his pupils forming into long, black slits. This was not the painful part though, this was tame, it was nothing compared to what was about to happen. A sickening cracking sound emanated around the forest, bouncing off of the trees as his limbs began to grow at an unnatural rate and his muzzle extended to twice it's normal length, his cheeks and jaw widening. This was pain in its truest form with the bones and muscles of the body forced to an unnatural size, beyond that of the body's natural limit. Finally though, the transformation ended, with the extension of the wolf's claws.
The werewolf stood now on all fours, looking down at the dog before, him, licking his lips almost obscenely as he examined his prey briefly, needing to satisfy the hunger that now controlled him. There was one thing though, one last shred of control that seemed to arise behind the hunger. This creature had made a choice a choice of how he wanted his freedom to end. Feet first, that's what he seemed to recall, this creature did not want to see where his freedom would end.
Even if the dog had not been frozen on the spot with fear, he would've been unable to move in time to escape the swiftness of the move. The werewolf pounced to position himself behind the dog before scooping him up in his large jaws, his rear legs folded onto his underbelly. Part of him wanted to simply tear the dog apart and be done with it, but another larger part felt the need to devour this canine alive, for that way it would be more filling.
With the size of the werewolf's mouth, it didn't take long to finish the dog, or at least it wouldn't have done if he had not wanted to savour the flavours. He gulped to pull the rear end of the dog to the back of his throat and ran his tongue over the dog's underbelly, taking in his flavour. This canine did not have much fur and it was easy and immensely satisfying to taste the flavours of the dog's skin. He savoured every part of the dog's body as he gulped, pulling the dog further inward, enjoying the sensation of the dog's foolish attempt at struggling. Eventually, the dog's head was the only part of his body that was not halfway down the werewolf's throat. The werewolf couldn't help, but smile at the thought of the image for someone who was watching for the side, a muzzle sticking out of the muzzle of a larger creature.
The werewolf then ran his tongue over the face of the dog, wetting his face with saliva and once he was satisfied he had taken in all of his flavour, he used his tongue to lightly push the dog's face into the back of his throat, before he made one final, powerful gulp.
Inside the dog was pulled backward by powerful throat muscles that pressed hard against his body, soaking his fur with warm saliva. After what seemed like an eternity, the dog felt his head pulled backward through a ring, and the fur around his neck was made to stick upward uncomfortably. He was quickly forced into a fetal position and found himself in a tight, yet warm, pink coloured chamber and realised that this was the wolf's stomach and from now on, his new home-or his prison.
The werewolf licked his lips long and hard once he had made the final gulp, attempting to get every last bit of flavour trapped in them he could. Once he felt the dog filling out into his stomach, he knew he would be forced back into that wretched weak form, for this creature had been large enough to satisfy the hunger that drove him. Before he did though, he tossed his head back and let out a single, blood-curling, cringe-inducing howl, as homage to the moon that lay above behind the treetops, that was the source of power for this unique form. The howl steadily became quieter, with less power as he began to shrink back into his `regular' form.
The coarse fur over his body began to retract and become finer as it did, his claws began to retract and lose their sharpness and finally, his bones and muscles began to shrink back to their usual size and his muzzle began to return to it's usual shape. Finally the howl subsided into nothingness and the feral wolf, now back in his usual form, fell to the ground, exhausted from the transformation.
He did now though, have a large and rather satisfying bulge in his stomach and could feel the soothing heartbeat and breathing of his prey inside. Shakily he stood up and trudged toward the entrance of his den. Once inside, he collapsed, panting onto a bedding of dried grass. Every muscle and bone in his body ached and throbbed painfully as he attempted to rest, the transformation was not gentle, it greatly exhausted, both the body and mind. He belched suddenly and loudly and couldn't help, but lick his lips as he tasted dog on his breath. It seemed to drain the last of his physical energy though and he was forced to fall asleep, without time to contemplate what it would be like having to feed two mouths now…
