Interview
With the Giantess
By

It
was the opportunely of a lifetime, as far as Trina was concerned.
The strange, otherworldly creature who semi-frequently 'visited' her
world of Selmkip never stayed long, and predicting when or where it
would appear had proved all but impossible. But tonight, luck was on
her side. It had appeared practically across the street from where
she had been working, and commenced with its usual behavior.

91 – part 2
It was
late afternoon, a pleasant glow bathing the forest as the fading sun
gradually dipped between the trees, casting its peaceful, dappled
light through the canopy.
Four
women and a child sat gathered in front of a wooden hut nestled in
the depth of the forest. Four of them, including the child, would
have looked human if not for their gigantic size; the fifth was a
naga, human down to the waist, below which stretched a long, curled
serpentine tail.

Story
91 – part 1
The
mid-morning sunlight streamed through the canopy of the Felaryan
jungle, its warm rays finally unhindered as earlier clouds gradually
scattered and faded away. Shining down between the branches and
leaves of a sorbalier tree in the north of Tolmeshal forest, it fell
upon a tangle of sleeping fairies, their bare bodies cuddled up to
one another in a blissful, lazy morning nap. The sun, scintillating
prettily against their insect-like wings, warmed th

of Warmth
The
alarm clock buzzed beside the mattress, rousing the two humans from
their sleep.
Outside,
it was still dark. Within a few minutes, dawn would cast its first
glow on the horizon, just visible between the neighbouring buildings,
through their east-facing window.
Isham
groaned, opened his eyes, and yawned. Lying on the mattress, which
rested on the floorboards, he was facing the clock, which blared its
annoying noise right into his face. He disengaged an arm from beneath

going to be a long flight. Further than Hanah had ever flown.
Accustomed though she was, professionally, to interacting with
tourists from around the world, she had rarely travelled as a tourist
herself. This would be a rare opportunity, and she was, in
consequence, secretly rather pleased that the contest was taking
place right on the opposite end of the continent.
Seated

Legend
of the Becky
The
vastness of the Topazial sea, to the uninitiated, might have appeared
monotonous, an unchanging expanse of bright, mostly calm water,
reflecting the sunlight. A deep blue surface, mirroring the paler,
clear blue sky. It was flat, unbroken, unmarked by any feature that
might have guided a lost traveller. By contrast with the rich,
diverse sceneries of dry land, it appeared to be a an emptiness, a
liquid desert, a maze without walls.

this was a world inhabited

Ajab had never, in his
long life, felt quite this awful before. Nor, if he was being
perfectly honest with himself, quite so afraid. Not for his own
safety, of course; but for the well-being of someone he had come to
care about a great deal. Someone whose life had become inextricably
intertwined with his. Someone that he was about to hurt a great deal
– that he had, in fact, already hurt, though she wasn’t aware of
it yet. Now he had to tell her.

85: An End
It was a pleasant
evening, a golden sun lingering, suffusing the darkening sky with
warm shades of orange and soft pastel yellow. The moon remained
hidden, perhaps behind clouds, as though not yet sensing its hour,
and the stars, distant pinpricks of light, timidly began to add their
shine to the heavens’ dome. Down on the ground, the forest of
Tolmeshal still basked in the sun’s late, life-giving glow. Nestled
amidst the trees, seeming almost a part of nature’s design, a

Ur-Sagol.
Not the most popular of destinations, the awe-inspiring ruined city
did attract its share of somewhat unusual visitors – from
risk-seeking tourists to bold archeologists accompanied by well-armed
guards. Most of them arrived and departed via the safest route,
minimising their time in the Felaryan wild. For that purpose, they
came through the great Sagolian gate, a circle of unblemished dark
stone mounted on a pedestal to the city’s west, out in the forest.

Fairy's
tale 1: treat to a fairy
There
were stories told about the Fairy Pond. Few of these stories were
first-hand accounts, but that only added to the mystery, the
legendary aspect of this inaccessible place, the sense of wonder.
There were stories told close by, among the nekos who dwelt in the
forest but who dared not approach, other than a few foolhardy
individuals who, seized with its intoxicating atmosphere, found
themselves drawn in despite all peril. There were stories

Dark
skies rumbled, heavy with clouds, high above the flat lands of the
Great Rocky Fields’ north-western edge – an area of Felarya
wisely ignored by most humans. In the tense, ominous sky, a lone
giant harpy flew, her sharp, chesnut-gold eyes focused on the
swaying, windswept blue-green grasses below. She did not fear the
storm which seemed to threaten above. She knew these lands – a
comparatively narrow stretch of wild field between the thick forest

Enchanted

The whole world
seemed to be made of soft edges. Everything slightly blurred, as
though from a peaceful dream. Except for those eyes. Those
beautiful eyes; so huge and depthless, like violet oceans, filled
with playful interest, yet somehow also seeming to hide some deeper
wisdom. Deidre had always felt her sexual orientation was quite
nonnegotiable, but looking up at the impossibly beautiful, sensual
creature before her . . . even the magnificent waterfall and

Everything hurt, and her vision was
still blurry. Bruised, scraped, tangled and hanging upside down from
the overgrown foliage of a foreign land, Rachel spent several long
moments just being grateful she was not being digested by a giant,
killer mermaid. She had never anticipated the need to be grateful
for this, but after her compatriots suffered that exact fate, she
found it easy enough. They hadn't exactly been close, but still, the

realm
Unpaved but
well-worn dirt paths extended out beyond Negav, well past the
protective range of the Isolon eye and into the untamed forest,
before finally tapering out somewhere in the savage jungle. The
tracks of feet and hooves and wheels were thick-set in proximity to
the fortified human city, then spread more thinly as they approached
hazardous ground, indicating that few adventurous souls cared to
travel an obvious route when exposed to the perils of the wild.

Finders Keepers

The blue woman and giant skeleton were
late. Hours late, which in Felarya is never a promising sign. But
Lisali waited just the same, not yet willing to give up on her very
first real expedition. Well, technically second, if she counted her
test. Her thoughts drifted back to those tense moments only months
ago, singing her heart out even as it thundered in her chest, legs
shaking the whole while. The look of approval on the mermaid Ehwea's

conundrum
Lucilya zipped her way
cheerfully through the warm morning air, swerving between the giant
trees, taking fun in this simple activity.
She was, as most
often, in a good mood. She had woken to find it raining, warm drops
catching the rays of the early sun, which had provided her with a
pleasant shower to cleanse away her lingering sleepiness. After a
quick breakfast of sweet, juicy berries, she was ready to discover
what the new day might have in store.

Out in
the ocean, surrounded only by pure, glistening waters as far as the
eye could see, lay an island. It was not a large island, which
perhaps explained why it had never been colonised by giant sapient
predators, though the latter were not generally known as seafarers in
any case. It was, however, quite beautiful, and seemingly serene, a
splash of green amidst the boundless blue. Along most of the
coastline, the forest reached almost to the water, and continued
