Hale had spotted the glint of morning sun off the hook from half a mile out. It had been a long time since he'd seen any fishermen out this way. Word had almost certainly gotten back to shore that those who fished these waters were less likely to pull up nets full of fish than they were to be pulled down and fill up a fish.
Hale rubbed his belly, which gurgled at the memories. Good times.
