Smuggler's Fun
Story by KavenBach July 2009
“You... you can't be serious?”
Jerrit stared calmly back at the girl, his mustachioed expression hard and motionless. He was used to incredulous reactions when he first explained his plan to his clients. Truthfully, the young raven-haired woman's reaction was tamer than the norm, but he wasn't going to let her know that.
She stared at him for a few seconds, her blue eyes wide, before swallowing audibly and turning away.

The next morning, having had a pleasant afternoon and even better evening in town, Uragh trotted back out of Verbobonc's west gate and made his way to the caravansary. This time he wasn't stopped at the entry, though it was a different set of guards on duty. Maybe they spotted the sticker on his gambeson as he loped towards them, but more likely they'd just been told about him. "Big feral wolverine in a red gambeson" could only really describe one person hereabouts, after all. They'd been told ab

His name was Gavis Trent. He was the third son of a rich merchant family and a minor noble in his own right. He certainly thought of himself as one. He had more money than sense and liked to fight. His father sent him off to a military boarding school to try to instill some discipline in him, but while the training turned him into a decent swordman it didn't curb his ego.At twenty years old he returned from the school, was given a position in the family business, and went back to making trouble.

Now she was a senior at college and it was a short walk from the dorm to the beach. There were normal beaches, the sort she went to. Then there were the weird ones. Friendly Beaches, they called them. She heard the rum

No one paid much attention when the nondescript van rolled by. It was a battered old Ford Econoline, big enough for someone to live in, and the bearded man behind the wheel looked like the sort to do it. The two guards outside the house kept an eye on it until it went around the corner, drove halfway down the block and parked. One walked to the van to make sure nothing strange was going on, but nothing was. No unusual antennas, no obvious cameras, just a probably-homeless man leaned back in the

It was an overcast day over the town of Freistadt. A thin human girl had made her way to the Guild building to take a quest, she wasn’t that high of a rank or anything, and most of her party would be out for today due to weather, which looked like it would rain soon. The blonde girl just needed a bit of money for more food so she decided a simple quest would be nice to just go and get over with so she can come back before the rain comes in. Around her, buildings were arrayed in rows. Fresh
