Nothing super specific on what kind of octopus girl. Admittedly with the backstory I had in mind for the character I would need to take some time to properly hammer that out.

Great piece. I love how in control the pred looks - lifting the larger mermaid easily with her tentacles, lowering her into her mouth like the tasty morsel she is, standing there unfazed by the huge belly she gained, licking her lips in satisfaction, smiling over her meal's digestion... And her hands rest confidently by her hips the entire time.

The mermaid struggles helplessly (for quite a long time too, relative to the gif's overall length) but in the end her silhouette disappears, and she becomes fat to pad her predator's body. Oversized breasts are not my cup of tea, but everything else is so great I don't mind.

I'm also partial to octopus girls (does she have a species? Tags mention mermaid prey but nothing about the pred), and preds who are slightly smaller than their prey are a big win for me.

Honestly, as long as you had fun doing something, that's more important with a hobby, right? Remember what I said earlier now.

Now, far as this pic here is concerned, always a fan of weight gain. Her wings, the part with the feathers connecting to the muscle part, to me it feels as if they could be a little thicker or more distinct. Along with that, I can tell you don't do side profile shots very often, your harpy's face looks a tad unusual with the nose bridge and how it relates to her eye placements.


So hey, even for something rushed, you did something new; an actual part 2 followup of sorts. And again, so long as you enjoyed drawing, don't sweat the small stuff.

I dig this one. It's got a cute harpy girl making a great expression with a belly bulge type that I really enjoy.
The only part that I'd challenge is the shading/shapes on the bulge need some work to better match the prey's possible positions.
Anyway, good to see more stuff from you, always enjoy your expressions and cartoony charm!

I'm sure you can find the answer. It'd be a shame to see someone with such a charming aesthetic leave, but part of me thinks once it can remain a hobby for you, it'll feel WAY more appealing. This happens to my buddy NAC and many others I know all the time, so you aren't alone feeling that way.

Real life responsibilities are more important than online ones. Do what you gotta, nobody could fault you eh?

In the case of the thighs, I would say it's not necessarily conveying distance, though improving that isn't a bad thing to do. I think just improving your understanding and usage of shapes will do more for you in cases like this.

Hands are, like I said, always tough and will never be a comfort area. But it's worth investing time looking into how a hand's muscle and skin can stretch n' stuff. Composition of a hand too. It's more than just a ball with 5 cylinders attached.

Arm length being too short is usually the sign of an artist who's none too familiar with realistic proportions. Like the human body is typically 8 heads tall, hands and arms should reach mid-thigh, etc. Big name artists on here make this mistake too, so you aren't alone. But, it's also easy to avoid too. Same goes for any proportions.


And hey, anytime. I'm no artist myself, but one look at my favorites and you'll see I collab with quite a few. I've pointed out errors before, and I sure won't anytime soon.

I approve of tiny nagas, but object to the practice of calling creatures without headsneks a gorgon. Also object to calling creatures with a snek tail rather than some sort of legs gorgons, but the lack of headsneks is the bigger problem.
