backed up, his feet unsteady upon the trembling earth. Shaking with
its stalking approach. It glared at him, eyes yellow in the moonlit
cityscape. Seeming alight with their own irreverent menace. In those
eyes, he felt his passion fall dark, his bravado wither and his
dreams decay. Step by step he drew farther back, and for every two
steps he took, the beast covered the distance in one. It lifted a
black paw high and Jeremy gasped, his back found the alley wall. The
