The bell rang, preceding a thunderous cacophony of movement by a mere second. Teachers sighed, outwardly disappointed by the end of their class, but inwardly glad to be read of their students, either stupid and sullen or intellectual and pedantic. Rarely was a student that combination of intelligence and humility, and it seemed that their numbers dwindled in every new class. Nostalgia took over the teachers, eroding memories of past events into a saccharine mess unrecognizable from reality.
