id love a more realistic one where she was found alive
ikr it would take like a week to digest a human for a lion!
an otter i dont even know if they can digest meat
Otters are extremely carnivorous and do eat things besides fish. Muskrats, for example, are eaten by otters, so they could digest human flesh. Bones are another matter but most vorish preds are assumed to be able to digest those. This is a very old story but Otto has retroactively been made one of the Project's predators and they are almost all modified not only to be able to swallow large prey but to digest bones. Otters are an extremely fast digestive system, so two days for one his size to digest a human is about right - only some of the larger bones would be left after that long.
It takes a snake about a week to digest a really big meal, and snakes are cold blooded with a slower metabolism. Snakes DO have a specialized digestive system that goes into overdrive when they feed, but it's not unimaginable that a warm blooded pred with similar adaptations might digest even quicker.
In reality it's because most people don't want to read about week long digestive processes, though sometimes it takes days or longer in my stories for really big meals.
X-rays have shown pythons digesting and passing proportionately large meals of alligators in 7 or so days. After an days a rat 50% as massive as another python was reduced to a mat of fur in the stomach. This does scale somewhat with larger snakes and more massive prey but a week is a good guideline.
I was talking about pythons as well, but yeah, there is sone scaling when you are talking about large prey like deer since their volume increases faster than their surface area.
this was one of the first vore stories i read back in 2004 and i'm always coming back to it.
so otto thinks katie is a fish throughout most of the story. but what bothers me is when we got to his pov sometimes he calls her an it and others times a she. if he really saw her as a tasty fish then all the way throughout he would be seeing her with more fish like features. he would be calling her feet and legs a tail from the start not just after he swallows her head. when she puts her hands into his mouth he would think they are fins etc.
It's an old story and it's entirely possible there are typos. I've found that even when a story is "done" I can look at it later and find typos, grammatical errors or story structure errors.
