A simple but effective organism, worms have existed on Skyvale since the Primordial Era. Over the hundreds of millions of years since, they can be found everywhere, and come in many shapes and sizes. Some are used for gardening, bait, or food, while others are regarded as dangerous predators that lurk in the murkiest depths of Skyvale’s forests. These predatory worms have had many adaptations that make them a different threat for any niche. Some will use their weight to crush their prey, others snare potential food with strong tentacles or sticky slime. There is even a species of arboreal leech which has learned to glide. With rubbery skin too thick for most claws and blades to pierce, many adventurers have met their ends in the bellies of worms, hoping they suffocate faster than they melt.
A peculiar genus of tentacled worms, which includes the tentaclus and flesh pit, keeps its prey alive for years as it feeds on sexual fluids. It is presently unknown if this method of obtaining nutrients is a natural adaptation, or if like yokai, they were genetically modified to be a bioweapon.

Might’ve been genetically engineered but not intended as a weapon until they escaped and bred in the wild and grew much larger than originally intended, with their creator becoming their first victim to her great satisfaction.

I see I forgot to comment on this picture when I originally looked at it. Sorry^^
To begin with, I will say I like the action pose in this image. Something dramatic is going on (pretty obviously when 2 of 3 are in the process of being swallowed whole and alive) and the distressing situation is reflected well in their faces. I like th tentacle worms, and they seem to fit neatly into the fauna of Skyvale. And I really like the sexy outfit the neko has, she looks hot in that gear :D

The outfit the center neko is wearing is actually based on a swimsuit design.
