Kura's Journey

The hot sun beat down overhead, as the dry wind blew the sand across the ground. Kura covered her eyes
as she skittered through the grass and sand, as not to get any in her eyes. When the wind stopped, she
continued running across the savannah. The savannah was like a desert and a field combined with both
hot temperatures, sand, and the occasional tree and grassy fields for those who did not know.
 
  Kura was a mouse, and at a hieght of 1.5" and a length of 5" to the base of her tail, a small one.
This was a huge disadvantage for her, as the savannah was full of huge animals. Hungry ones too, it seemed,
as she was always being chased around for food. But she always managed to escape, and luckily she hadn't
been swallowed yet.
 
  Kura had lived in the savannah all her life, but was always traveling to different areas, looking for
peace. However, the area she was in now seemed to be the most violent. Already today she had to escape
a lion AND an eagle who tried to eat her.
 
  However, she did find ONE goodd thing here. A short distance from here was a huge watering hole,
perfect to go relax by. And at this moment, Kura was very thirsty, and really needed to stop by.
 
  Kura walked through the tall grass for some time before coming to the lake. It was pretty big, too,
about the size of a large pond. The water looked perfectly cool, and glistened in the overhead sun. <Great!>
Kura thought, who was getting thirstier than ever. She ran down to the water, next to an elephant.
 
  Kura looked at the elephant, who was drinking from the watering hole. It was massive! <It must be at least
twenty feet tall...> Kura thought. It was the biggest elephant she had ever seen.
 
  She took her eyes off of the huge elephant, and back onto the water. She couldn't wait any longer, and
started drinking. The water was cool enough, and tasted great after her thirst.
 
  Suddenly, Kura's drink was inturrupted when a massive object wrapped around her. "Huh?" she said as she
was lifted up into the air. She looked ahead to see the huge elephant staring her in the face, holding her in
it's huge trunk. Then, it spoke.
 
  "What do you think you're doing!?" It asked, it's booming voice echoing out like a megaphone.
 
  "I was just getting a drink..." Kura replied, timidly.
 
  "Hah!" The elephant laughed, as if it were the most preposterous idea in the world. "And just what makes
you think you can do that?" Before she could reply, the elephant continued. "Your an outisider, and a tiny
one at that. You're certainly not worthy to drink from here."
 
  "But-" Kura began.
 
  "Although," the elephant inturrupted. "You DID already drink some, and you have to compensate for THAT..."
 
  "Come one!" Kura replied angrily. "It's just water! What could it possibly mean to you if I just drank
a little bit?!"
 
  This seemed to anger the elephant, and it began speaking again. "What?! This water is everything!"
the elephant moved her now, lowering her in front of it's mouth. "But if you really want it so bad, you can
go ahead in after it." Then, it opened it's mouth, at once revealing it's fleshy maw, dripping wet with
saliva. It's huge tongue moved back and forth, and it's breath washed over Kura, making her cough.
 
  "No! That's fine, I..." she began.
 
  "I insist!" The elephant demanded, and then tossed Kura inside.
 
  At once it began sloshing her around with it's tongue, coating her in saliva. It's teeth moved up and
down but didn't chew her, although rubbed against her as the elephant threw her around it's mouth. Kura
could see the remnants of grass stuck to it's huge yellow teeth.
 
  "Please! No! Let me out!" she sputtered, but it seemed the elephant had other plans. Instead of letting
her back out, it's huge tongue moved her towards the back of it's mouth. It's huge tonsils moved aside,
pushing her under it's uvula and hanging her on the edge of it's throat.
 
  "No! What are you-" Kura cried, but at once the elephant swallowed loudly. Kura yelped and fell face
first into the elephant's throat, which squeezed her down the tight tube. Finally, it pushed her into
a massive churning sack, the elephant's stomach. At once, Kura fell into a soupy mixture of grass and water,
resurfacing shortly after.
 
  Kura screamed out "Hey! What did you do!" to the elephant, but it seemed it could not hear from inside
it's stomach. Kura sighed, and looked around. She was in a huge green soupy mixture, which was sloshing and
churning around. <Am I really inside the elephant's belly?> she thought. Of all the times she had been chased
down, she had never actually been swallowed before. Seeing the inside of another animal's stomach was
completely new for her.
 
  The walls were thick and muscular, but felt soft and squishy to the touch. They were continuously
churning and moving the massive soup around. <It seems the elephant is at work digesting...> Kura thought,
also noticing that the stomach acids were not harming her. Since an elephant's digestive tract was only for
plants, it seemed that she would be fine, for now.
 
  Another thing Kura noticed was the loud gurgles, along with a farmiliar, dull thump that was obviously
the elephant's heartbeat. She also noted that the stench was utterly disgusting, it smelled like a mixture
of vomit and saliva. It made Kura gag, but she soon got used to it.
 
  Still floating in the soup, Kura had no idea what to do. She was inside an elephant's belly. Now what?
If it were any other animal, like a Lion's stomach, she would probably be digested alive and excreted later.
But it didn't look like the elephant was doing much digesting, so now what?
 
  Finally, Kura decided that the only thing she could do was wait for the elephant to digest everything
else, and allow herself to be passed through with it's waste. But that could take all day before she saw the
light of day again!
 
  The soft stomach gently churned and digested, growling softly. Kura sighed and relaxed - she was going
to be in here for a while.
 
  ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
 
  Hours passed, with Kura floating on the digesting soup as the digestion picked up. It seemed like an
eternity for Kura inside the elephant's stomach, although by now the fleshy walls were sloshing and churning
alot more powerfully, kicking up a huge storm of waves inside. The elephant's heartbeat was now blocked out
by deafening gurgles from all around, as well as the noise of the huge pool of liquid sloshing around.
 
  Kura was thrown around the elephant's belly like a ragdoll as it's huge gut digested more and more. What
was once grass and water was now just a greenish pulp sloshing around inside of the elephant.
 
  However, after hours of churning, the elephant's stomach began to slow down. All kinds of strange noises
were coming from lower down in it's body, towards it's intestines, Kura noticed.
 
  Finally, the huge stomach started to squeeze. The food inside was churning around again, and suddenly
the small hole leading to the elephant's intestines squeezed open. With a loud slurping noise, the elephant
began to squeeze and pump the contents of it's stomach into it's intestines. <Finally!> Kura thought.
<Something is happening!> The water level inside the elephant's stomach was starting to lower now, as it's
intestinal tract gulped more and more of the food into the slimy tubes. It seemed that Kura was starting to
be moved on a current towards the hole as well, and it seemed her time swimming around inside the elephant's
stomach was done.
 
  Kura approached the hole, and with a loud *SHLURP* she was sucked into the Elephant's duodenum. The tight
tube she was in squeezed tightly against her body, and she grunted as it forced her through. The moist walls
rubbed against her, moving to squeeze her further in. Finally, the slowed down, and it seemed Kura was completely
in the elephant's intestines.
 
  Kura was squeezed again, and it seemed the Elephant's small intestines were slowly moving her along. A thick
mess of digested food lay all around her, and was being squeezed along with her. Strange noises emanated from
just about everywhere - the intestines were making alot of noise pumping it's past meal along. Kura tried to
breathe as little as possible, as what little gas caught in the elephant's bowels reeked horribly, and almost
made her gag.
 
  As Kura felt her body slide through the elephant's intestinal tract, she soon noticed that the walls began
to be covered in tiny villi, which were sucking up and absorbing the digested mixture around her, slurping up the
nutrients for the elephant to use. She also felt the pulling on her, trying to suck up parts of her to absorb.
Fortunatley, Kura was still alive and whole, but that didn't stop the small intestines from trying to absorb
her anyway.
 
  This went on for hours, as Kura was dragged through the elephant's body. It's intestines seemed immensley
long, and she saw no end in sight. Just when Kura was beginning to think that the elephant's intestines would
never end, Kura saw something up ahead. It's small intestines seemed to end, and the food waste inside seemed
to be squeezed through a small opening. Kura was moved to the opening as well, and suddenly squeezed in.
 
  Kura was pushed out of the elephant's small intestines, and finally into a wider tube. It seemed she was
in it's large intestines, finally. From the moment Kura was pushed in, she noted that this new area in the
elephant was much different. While the elephant's small intestines were very tight, it's large intestines were
a good deal wider. Also, the villi were more scarce, and there was one more thing - the gas smelled alot worse.
 
  It seemed that Kura was finally nearing the end of her journey through the elephant's digestive tract, as
it's colon marked the last leg of the journey. The waste around her was more solid now, and a different color
than when it was back in it's stomach. Still, however, Kura felt herself surely moved along, although at a much
slower pace than it's small intestines.
 
  It seemed that the elephant's colon was much shorter, however, as she soon neared what looked like the end.
Up in front of her was another small opening, which she was quickly approaching. Kura braced herself as she was
pushed through the opening, but wasn't quite ready for what happened next.
 
  Kura quickly slid through the opening, but was immedeatley pushed down into a small chamber below. She fell
into what seemed like of vat of the elephant's waste, as it was almost completely filled with brown feces. She
quickly surfaced, gagging at the smell inside. If she though it's stomach smelled bad, it was nothing compared
to what was in here; the elephant's rectum. Kura would have passed out, if it were not for the single hope that
she were almost out.
 
  Kura looked up, only to see more solid waste slide in on top of her. <Disgusting...> Kura said, revolted.
However, it seemed that the chamber was full now, and the elephant could only wait so long before it had to
release her. She didn't wait very long, as she soon heard a loud sucking noise come from below. The level of
waste inside began to lower, and she could now hear what seemed like loud farting noises coming from below.
 
  The waste was slowly drained from the rectum, and Kura soon approached the bottom. She closed her eyes
tightly as her legs were sucked in a very tight tube, bracing herself for what would finally come.

  Outside, a large pile of brown excretement sat on the sand as the elephant continued to push more out on top
of it. It felt something large release from it's rectum, and wondered if it was the corpse of the mouse it had
eaten. Then, the elephant wondered if the mouse might still be alive. Finally, his intestines were empty as the
last of the waste was pushed out. Forgetting about the mouse, the elephant stood up and walked away.
 
  Down in the pile, Kura climbed out and squinted at the bright morning sunlight overhead. She walked out
and onto the ground, and regained her composure. Finally, it seemed Kura had gone through the elephant's entire
digestive system, and had been excreted alive. She took a few deep breaths - the fresh air tasted sweet after
the disgusting fumes she had been inhaling all night and morning.
 
  Kura took a few steps, and noticed she was covered in elephant poop. She really needed a bath... and then
she had to get out of here. It just wasn't worth it. Then again, she really didn't want to move again; she hated
searching for new places to live.
 
  Kura skittered off towards a nearby puddle. She might as well stay here for now... atleast she hadn't been
digested.
