Elle's Beginnings 2 - Restful Days
No, not him! Why was he here?
I was completely freaking out, and my heart was hammering away in my chest. The man was here to kill me, and I couldn't get out of the tank to save myself, no matter what I did. The other girls were there, watching me as I went from one end to the other, scrabbling at the sides. As soon as I was pulled out and demagicked, it would all be over for me. My life would be...
Arms...Comforting arms. I could feel them around me. It was as if all my troubles suddenly washed away as I felt those around me, my heart and breathing returning to their normal speeds. I wasn't in such a horrible place now... I could feel someone holding me tight, and the warmth was absolutely wonderful.
In fact, the warmth only seemed to be increasing, and something was touching my ears! It was one of them! One of the ones who would eat me so often! No, wait... They never touched my ears like this. It felt so...so good... As they were touched, I could sense that feeling inside of me building, and before long my body released it with a shudder. Finally, I relaxed again.
Those comforting arms...that warmth...someone who cared...
I blinked my eyes, opening them and breathing deeply as I stared up at the ceiling. Was...was I really out? The events from before seemed almost to be a dream in themselves, though as I began to move, I realized that while what I'd just seen was in fact a dream, the events that it was based on weren't.
For the first time in a long time, I had clothes on. I could feel them brushing my skin lightly as I moved, and I put my hands on them, gripping them to make sure. They were as real as everything else, it turned out, and though they were only a simple pair of pink pajamas with white polka dots, they might as well have been silk clothing made for royalty with as much as they meant to me.
I couldn't suppress the smile and the wonderful, almost overpowering feeling of joy that suddenly washed over me. I was out! I giggled and rolled over, enjoying the soft sheets and mattress under them, rubbing my face up against that. It felt like it had been forever since I felt this wonderful sensation of waking up in such a warm bed.
There it was though! I was safe, comfy, and warm, and the smile would not come off my face! Not that I wanted it to all that much, but it might be a bit embarrassing if I couldn't get it off before I left the room! I blushed at the thought, though at the same time, I couldn't help but smile and giggle, pressing my face into the covers.
Finally though, I began to calm down a bit, and I looked around the room. It was a fairly small room with a bed, several boxes with things in them, and a window on one side, a door directly opposite. The room itself seemed to be made mostly of wood, and part of the ceiling was slightly slanted. I hadn't been anywhere like this before...
A bit confused as to exactly where this was, I walked over to the window and looked out...only to find myself way too far above the ground!
I hopped back, ears drooped and standing there for a second. Slowly I walked back up toward the window, making sure to hang onto one of the boxes on the floor. Sure, the window was closed, but it was still a long drop! Definitely not something I was used to...
When I looked out for the second time, this time I saw things OTHER than what was at least a 15 foot drop. People walked by on the streets below, some riding in cars, though they looked a little different from back home, and some on bikes. It really was a nice sight, and once I was sure the window wasn't going to fall out on me and let me spiral out onto the pavement, I relaxed some.
I pulled up one of the boxes and sat, watching people pass outside and thinking. The blue light I'd seen before I disappeared reminded me of what had brought me to that place at first, but they wouldn't have sent me away, would they? That didn't make any sense...
So, what exactly had it been that had caused me to end up here?
*Grooooowwlll...* Uuuuu... So hungry! I rubbed my belly, which growled some more. Well, out of anything, that made sense. I hadn't been fed right before I came here, and I hadn't eaten after. Getting up from the box, I hopped over to the door and opened it. Maybe I could find the...
That man! It seemed he'd been taking care of me since I'd been here, so maybe he had something to eat? As I left the room and found some stairs (finally I could go down a bit!), I could smell those wonderful smells wafting up to me, and I couldn't help my tail from waggling.
How could I be so silly? Of course he had something to eat; this was a bakery! I hopped down the steps, slipping on one and squeaking as I almost fell. Thankfully, I was able to stop myself by grabbing the handrail. I stopped for a moment before starting down the stairs again, this time making sure not to fall. He must have heard the squeak I made, since I found him looking my way when I came through the door to the front room.
"Hey! Feeling any better?" he asked, giving me a smile.
Now that I got a good look at him, I realized he wasn't quite as old as I thought he was at first. At the time, I'd thought of him a bit as a knight in shining armor, though now that I saw him, he was actually quite a young knight. He wasn't nearly as young as I was, but he might have been right out of high school. His eyes seemed to glitter as the light bounced off of them, and his hair...
Oh, that smile of his had me frozen and blushing.
He smiled even more as I stood there, tilting his head a bit. "You okay there?" he asked, and I quickly realized what was going on again. I'd been staring! My face went hot with embarrassment.
"Um, y-yeah, I-I'm...fine!"
He chuckled and walked over, patting and rubbing me on the head. The pressure on my ears made me squeak and blush a little more, feeling like I was burning up by the time he pulled his hand back and leaned down to speak.
"So, how are the pajamas? My sister left them behind with some other clothes of hers when she was staying here a while back, but I don't think she'd mind someone as cute as you wearing it."
These were his sister's pajamas? Well, that explained why he had them around. So he'd dressed me up in... Wait, he...he saw me...n-nake...
My face suddenly went bright red, and he squinted with a curious look, smiling and laughing a bit more at me. "You sure you're okay?"
I nodded quickly. Of course he had. I'd ended up here without any clothes in the first place, so he would have. It was nice of him to put me in the clothes in the first place, so he wasn't a bad person, but still, he...he saw me...
"I'll assume you like them then," he said, smiling and shaking his head as he got up.
"Ah, y-yeah, I do!"
I nodded as quickly as I could, making sure that he didn't take it the wrong way. I definitely liked them! My clothes before had been mostly for covering myself up, but these...well, these were really cute! I wondered what the other clothes were like...
"Here, let's go find you something better to run around in. I don't think you'd be comfortable running around in that, would you?"
Was he reading my mind? I blinked and looked up at him as he started away, going back upstairs again. I hesitated, watching him for a moment. I hadn't liked the boys back in school, but if there'd been one like him...
"You coming?"
Ah! I forgot I was supposed to follow! Hopping forward, I followed him up the stairs and back to the room I'd woken up in, watching as he began to go through the boxes. Soon enough, he pulled out a little white top, pink skirt, and a pair of white, cotton panties with the cutest cat I'd ever seen on them.
"Here, I hope you like them, though it's all I have right now. If you like, we could go and find some better clothes later. Um...I'll just let you change then."
I could do nothing but stand there, watching him as he set the clothes down on the bed and patted me on the head, soon walking out the door and closing it so I could get dressed in private.
My eyes stuck to the door for several seconds before I shook my head. Stop it! I couldn't be falling for a guy! Guys were so...yet, he was... My cheeks went red again, and I slapped my face to try and get rid of the image. Clothes now, swooning later!
Amazingly, as I began to put the clothes on, I found they fit me extremely well. His little sister must have been very close to my size. I wondered if I'd get to meet her sometime... Still, there was just one problem with them, and that was the lack of a tail hole. My puff of a tail held the skirt up in the back, and it felt like I was exposed...
Maybe I could fix this if I had some sewing supplies? Hopping over to the door, I opened it and glanced out. It seemed that he'd gone back downstairs again.
"U-um... Is...is there um...a needle and thread anywhere?" I yelled down, hoping that he'd hear me and I wouldn't have to go all the way down and get him.
"I think my mom might have left some sewing stuff," came the voice from downstairs. Good, he heard me... "Check the boxes!"
"Thanks!" I yelled back down, closing the door. I could hear him yelling something about being careful as I did.
Sorting through the boxes was a task in itself, all kinds of books, papers, clothes (mostly his, including some...underwear...*blush*), and other things were inside of them, and I dug through each to see if there was anything to fix the skirt with.
Some of the books I found were different from the ones I'd seen before. They had pictures, like children's books, but the words seemed to be at a higher reading level, and some of the books even had pictures of girls falling and ending up quite...exposed. I quickly tucked them away in the box and tried to focus on the task at hand again.
Soon enough, I found the box, complete with a sewing machine, plenty of thread, scissors, and other necessaries for sewing. The sewing machine hadn't seemed to be touched! This was almost as much as we'd had back home, but it seemed that he didn't even use it... What a waste!
Well, it would be getting some use tonight! After all, this skirt definitely deserved to have a good job done on it, but for now, I wanted to go downstairs. I went ahead and made a quick and simple tailhole. In a few minutes, it was back on, my tail sticking through the hole perfectly. I waggled it and smiled. Perfect!
Hopping back downstairs, I found him sitting on a stool next to the counter. He looked up as I came through the door.
"Oh, so it fits then?" he asked, looking at me with a big smile, "Turn around real quick..."
He spun his finger in a circle, and I did a little circle for him, my tail waggling behind me as I turned. My tail just didn't want to stop! When I got back around, I smiled up at him, wondering what he thought.
"You're just too adorable, you know that?" he said, to which my face went its reddest, my eyes traveling to the floor. Adorable? I was adorable?
Just then, however, something dinged behind me, and I jumped, turning around. Of course, the reaction was a bit much, and I soon realized that as he laughed behind me.
"A little jumpy?" he asked, getting up from his stool, "Well, I need to take care of this, so if someone comes for that cake over there, just have them sign for it. Once I'm back, we need to talk a bit."
I turned around to see where he was pointing, and there was a cake sitting up on top of the counter. I nodded to him, and he rubbed my head again, the touches to my ears making me gasp lightly. I turned to watch him leave, and soon he was around the corner in the kitchen.
Looking back at the counter, I saw the stool and the cake up where it was. Part of me wondered what type of cake it was. All that took was a quick hop up to see, right? And I was on duty anyway right now. Maybe he'd even let me work here for him? It didn't seem like it was too unlikely. He already trusted me to watch the cake, or at least whoever was coming knew what to do in the first place.
Hopefully it was more the first one, but there really was no way to know.
Once I made it up on the stool, I looked down at the cake, and both the wonderful smell and the icing on the top told me exactly what it was. "Carrot cake!" I smiled, looking at the little frills of icing around the edges and that orange carrot in the middle for a minute, taking in the wonderful scent. I closed my eyes as I did, inhaling deeply and focusing just on how wonderful it smelled. Maybe I should ask him for one...
"Hey there, cutie!"
"Kya!" I squeaked, opening my eyes and finding someone only inches from my face! I pushed back from the counter, and soon I found myself spinning and hitting the ground face first. Whoever it was seemed to be having a fit of the giggles the entire time... They weren't helping, but I still managed to get up and started to brush myself off a few seconds later.
"You really should be careful, or you might not even last until the snake," came that voice again, still mixing with a giggle.
Snake? What about a snake? I pulled the stool back up and got back up on it again, a bit embarrassed that I'd just tipped myself over backwards like that! The whole time I was rubbing my head, so I didn't see who it was until I pulled it away.
What I saw I wasn't quite ready for, though. The young woman there (both things being there in large quantities) was probably about the same age as the baker in the back room. I still hadn't gotten his name yet! That didn't matter too much at the moment though. What was on my mind was her body. Though I could only see from the bust up, that was pretty much all I needed to see.
Her face was absolutely beautiful in a soft, cute kind of way. Her long, blonde hair hung behind her and her blue eyes stared what seemed to be straight through me. She had the most beautiful smile as well, though there was a little...mischief in it.
However, her face was just the tip of the iceberg...much more in the way the tip of an iceberg is to the rest of the iceberg than usual. Her chest was huge! It wasn't disproportionately large by any means, but each was easily as large as...no, wait. They were larger than her head! From what else I could see of her upper body as well, she was very...full bodied. She wasn't fat by any means, but extremely shapely!
For some reason my face went red, and though I opened my mouth, no words would come out for me. What was I supposed to say to such a beauty? Not that I felt anything other than admiration to her looks!
Then something else struck me. Not only was she so beautiful, but...she had ears like me! I hadn't seen anyone with those for what must have been months now, and to see another bunnygirl, and one so beautiful...
She laughed a bit more. "Well, I'd normally let you touch, but...mmm..." she tossed her head to the side, her hair flowing, and she pulled a clipboard from nearby. Her other hand reached between her breasts (yes, between them!), pulling out a couple of pens or something. "Let's see, I just need to sign here and..." she said, quickly signing the clipboard and putting it down. My eyes didn't want to stray from her the entire time.
"Um...um, I..." I started to say, but what was I supposed to say again? She seemed to know what to do, and meanwhile my face felt like it had caught fire. Maybe I should ask for some water?
She just picked up the cake and turned to leave though, shaking her long, flowing hair as she went.
"I would stay, but...well...I have other things on my menu right now. Have fun with the baker boy!"
She said all of that without even so much as turning to see me, though her hand did go up in a little wave, walking out through the door and disappearing down the street. I blinked a couple more times and felt my face starting to return to a temperature that wouldn't melt things when it touched them.
The sight of her leaving wouldn't leave my mind though. It wasn't just her bust and above that was so amazing. Her entire body was curvy, and she had a tight rear e- Wait, why was I thinking that?
Clothes though, clothes! Her top was some kind of tank top it seemed, though the neckline was low and the bottom was high... Actually, it was more of a bra, wasn't it? Her shorts weren't much better, being just enough to cover her rear end. In fact, had they not been made of denim, I might have called them panties!
There was something else that stuck in my mind as that cotton tail of hers had gone through the door. On each of her shoulder blades, she seemed to have a tattoo shaped like a little wing. It seemed to fit the rest of her though, being quite cute itself. I couldn't imagine myself getting any tattoos myself, but if I did, it would definitely be like that...
Finally, I took a deep, shaky breath, rubbing my face with my hands. With her gone from the room, I seemed to be calming down a bit. At the same time though, I wondered who she was. If only I'd been able to ask her while she was there...
Wait! She signed her name, didn't she? It wasn't like I could tell much about her that way, but at least I'd know her name. Maybe I'd be able to find her later with it? I picked up the clipboard, turning it around to see what was on it...and my heart seemed to skip a beat.
On the paper was the name Elle.
Okay, so it said Elle Adeline, but still! While my last name wasn't Adeline, and in fact I didn't even have one, to meet another bunnygirl like I just had, not to mention one so beautiful, it seemed like it must have been the biggest coincidence ever for her to have my name!
Now if I could just grow up to be like that! I looked down at my chest. Why was it so small? My hands cupped over where there should be something, smooshing against the fabric. It wasn't like I didn't have anything though! There was definitely...something there... Oh, who was I kidding? I'd never be like that...
I sighed a deep sigh.
"Hey, did she come then?"
I jumped, blushing at realizing I'd still had my hands on my chest! Had he seen when he'd come through from the back area?
"U-um..." I started, though it seemed my voice was giving me trouble again, so I just nodded to him.
"Really? Darn, I was hoping to get to see her..." he said, walking over and picking up the clipboard, "When she called she sounded like she might be a cute girl, and by the way she signs..."
He was studying her signature apparently. I hopped off of the stool and scooted over to look at it too. Once there, I saw that he was totally right about it. Everything about her was beautiful, including her signature.
She signed in black, and the inside of each of the l's in Elle was filled in with pink. In the end, it made the l's look like two bunny ears. It was kind of cute, but the lines themselves were overwhelmingly beautiful at the same time. The curves were large and smooth like...well...like her... Still, the thick black outer lines seemed to add a bit of...mischief to it somehow, though black was a fairly normal color to use.
"So, how was she then?"
I looked up at him, taking a moment to realize the question, but as I opened my mouth to explain what she'd been like, I found my face getting that bright red glow again, and nothing seemed to come out.
"That good, huh?"
I nodded. Seemed my head was still moving...
"Mmm, I hope she enjoys the cake then. Maybe she'll order another sometime?" He was looking up into the air, as if he was imagining what she might look like. There was one thing he probably didn't know though.
"Ah! ...Um...sh-she had...um..." She had those huge bre- No! Mind off the chest! Eyes up! I couldn't seem to get it out of my mouth though, so I instead put my hands up to my own ears, holding onto them.
"Bunny ears? Like yours?" he asked.
I nodded. My head moved, so why wouldn't my voice work so well?
"Hrmmm, a bunnygirl..." He had a grin on his face, though his own cheeks were starting to get a little red. What was he imagining? I could understand if he'd seen her, but...well, maybe he was trying to imagine her. Still, anything that he might be imagining would likely pale in comparison... "Anyway!"
He seemed to be trying to get his mind off of Elle...er...the other Elle I mean! There's no way he'd ever look at me... Not...not that I wanted him to! But...it's not like I don't li- Or... Um... Never mind!
"So, I don't think I ever got your name. Mine's Jeff. I took over at this bakery a little while ago when the baker here retired. I'd been working under him for a while, but working here alone's been a bit rough." He smiled a bit, rubbing the back of his head. That smile...
"Oh, my...m-my name..." Now that there'd been another Elle like that who'd come to the bakery, my own name didn't seem like it fit any longer, like I wasn't worthy to have it. How could I stack up to her? Still, I had to say it. "I'm Elle..." I finally got out, looking down at the ground. I didn't really want to go into how I got here.
"Hi, um...Elle..." He glanced back over at that clipboard, as if to make sure. Then he looked back at me. "Well, sorry to be blunt, but did something happen? I found you lying in the middle of the floor here yesterday evening, and I've been a bit worried..."
He really did look concerned, but...well; maybe I could give him a simple version. "Um...I...I was...was k-kidnapped, but...but I got...got away...somehow..." I muttered. Well, it was the truth, and I was confused about some things, so it wasn't like I was lying. I really didn't want to have to tell him what all happened...
"Oh!" I heard him say, though I couldn't see his expression, as my eyes were looking squarely at the floor now. "Do you need me to help you get home? I know a few people who might be able to help you get back."
I shook my head. Home hadn't really been the best place for me anyway, with so many others around. It had seemed like I was one drop of water in a lake, no different from the rest, though maybe a little less noticeable... And the other drops stuck together... Maybe more like a drop slowly disappearing under a leaf where nobody could see it, soon to be where even fewer could...
"Ah, well, I guess you can stay here for a while." I lifted my head up a bit to see him half smiling above me, as if he didn't know whether to smile or not, having just heard what I'd gone through. "After all, it would be nice to have an extra set of hands to help out around here. Oh, only if you wanted to of course..."
Was he really offering to let me work here? At a bakery? What was with this situation? Not only had I gotten out of permanently being eaten, but here I was being asked to help out at a bakery of all places! I nodded, and he seemed to be smiling about something. I didn't realize what it was until he pushed my jaw up with his finger, shaking his head.
"Well, if you're staying, I guess we'll definitely need to do some shopping for you. I might have a couple of sets of clothes my sister left behind, but I definitely don't have an apron that's your size or anything else like that..." He nodded to himself. "We'll go tomorrow then. Since you handled the last order so well, you can take care of the front for me today, alright?"
I nodded to him quickly, feeling a smile returning to my face now that we seemed to be getting farther away from the dark past while moving toward a bright future. I had no idea what was in store for me ahead, but with a little time and practice, I was sure that this would be great!
