"Spark"ing a Friendship
By Misterebony
For Sparky the Chu. Happy Holidays!

Tim was lost in a thick patch of woods. The young pokemon trainer had come here to find bug-type pokemon and perhaps a stray bird pokemon, but his hunt had left him hopelessly lost. To make mattes worse, the pokemon he had brought with him on his adventure were left behind at the pokecenter to recover. But now he was hopelessly lost, and very weak.

"No..." He cried, tears flowing down his cheeks. "I wanna go home... I want my mommy..." Tim curled up in a ball by a tree and whimpered. It felt like the end for him.

Not too far away, in a much better mood, Sparky was walking about finding tasty little berries to eat. He was in his feral form, looking somewhat like a very furry pikachu, with a pair of goggles on his head, which was covered in black hair-like fur. At present, he was slightly pudgy from berries and greens, and his tummy seemed to sing as he padded along, but he stopped when he heard the crying.

"Hmm?" He wondered." WHo could that be so far from the towns?" He followed the sound, until he saw a small boy, curled into a ball. He was painfully thin, and wore a white tank top and blue shorts. His cheeks were covered in tears as he looked up, staring at Sparky with his blue eyes. It was Tim of course, and he was quite suprised.

"Wha?" He said. "A pikachu!" He reached for a pokeball from his belt, but when he went to throw it, he couldn't do it. "Oh why bother... I could never get you home..." He started to cry, Sparky coming over to him and patting him.

"You poor thing..." He said. The boy looked at him with wide eyes.

"You can talk?" He asked some, coughing a little.

"Yup. My name is Sparky. Sparky the Chu. And if I may say so, it looks like you need some help."

The boy cried and nodded. "I'm out of food and water, and I have no idea where I am."

Sparky nodded. "No wonder you look so sickly. Well, I am afriad the nearest town is a good distance away, and as for food, the berries around here are poisionus to humans." He hmmed some, then thought of an idea. "Hey! Maybe I could help."

"How?" The boy said.

"You trust me?"

"Y... yeah?" The boy said, cooming closer. The pikachu smiled and began to show himself off some.

"Well, see, I am a very wel fed pika. Nice and plump, and lots of meat on me."

The boy was confused as to why he was saying this, until he realized! "You CAN'T mean...?!"

The pika giggled. "I sure do! I mean you can have a pik-a-cue!" he giggled at the joke. "I am sure I can find some things for you to roast me over a good fire. I'll even help you build it!"

"But... why?" The boy asked. He hated the idea of eating pokemon himself, and he hated poachers who did it without any remorse, as if pokemon were mere animals. Yet he had to admit, the pikachu before him did look tasty...

"Why not? I like the idea of being eaten personally. Besides, it would be kind of like a gift, not me trying to run away while you shoot at me, right?"

The boy hmmed some. Sparky had a point. "Yeah... I suppose so..."

"Then wait right here. I'll get some help getting some firewood, and then we can workout the cookout." He gave the boy a kiss on the cheek, and scuttled into the brush. Tim watched him depart with a rather funny look, wondering if this was really happening. But it was. He was going to get some wood for a fire. He sighed and decided to check his pack. He did not find any food of course, but he DID find some salt and pepper. He set them out, sighing unhappily. He felt terrible about this, but he knew that it was either helet this pokemon help him... or he would starve to death.

A few minutes later, Sparky was walking back with some wood, followed by a few more bits of wood carried by some Beedrills. They began to set up a decent fire pit, Sparky hmming some.

"Guys, you have some honey you can spare? THis boy should have a real treat!" The beedrills buzzed some, one going to get the honey, while the other brought over a nice long stick that could be used as a spit. TIm looked on, kinda nervous.

"You sure you want to do this?" He asked. Sparky nodded.

"WHy not?" He said, using some of his electrie power to get the fire started. "You need some food, and you sure cannot eat bugs or poisionus berries, plus the nearest town is..."

"But... you'll die. and a pokemon trainer never lets a pokemon die..."

Sparky hmmed some and giggled. "I thought you trusted me." He said, winking.

"I do, it's just..."

"Then don't worry about it and get those taste buds ready for a real treat!" Even as he said this, the beedrill that flew off before had returned. From its stinger was fired globs of the sticky honey all over the chu. THey biuzzed in a way like a laugh as the chu spread it all over himself. "There. Ok guys, tie me to the spit, and help set our friend up for a feast."

One beedrill began to use a string shot on Sparkys wrists, tying him ever so carefully to the long pole. The other helped the boy up, tying a napkin around his neck, causing him to giggle.

"Are these your friends?" The boy asked as the beedrill looked in his pouch for a plate.

"Nah, they just are like me... unwilling to let a boy starve." He winked some, his legs being tied to the spit. "THere. Now, you mind putting me on kiddo? THe beedrills will do the rest."

The boy sighed and helped the beedrills, putting the pole onto the spit poles so it could be turned over the fire. In his state, poor TIm was wore out by just the simple action. The beedrills continued to squirt Sparky with honey as they turned him. Soon, a tasty odor filled the air.

"Mmmmmmm..." The boy said, unabe to control himself. Sparky only laughed as he turned slowly over the fire, his fur being singed away, replaced with the sight of his roasting meat. His goggles were removed after a bit so they would not melt.

"Why don't you hang on to those for awhile kiddo." He said, sighing happily. "Ahhhh... you cannot imagine how nice this feels. How do I smell?"

"Er...um..." The boy managed to get out, embarassed.

"Come on.. only fair to let the chef know what you think of the meal, right?"

The boy blushed. "Yeah.... Well... you smell... yummy..."

"There, was that so hard?" He said witha sigh. "Oh, I think I am about done here soon... too much longer and I will be cooked to death, and I want to see you eat. Just to make sure."

The boy sighed some. He WAS going to try and avoid it somehow, but it seemed he had no choiuce. The beedrills carefully took him off of the flames after a few more minutes and untied him, letting him lay on a platter. Sure enough, they DID find an apple which was put into Sparky's mouth. All done, they flew off to return to their dutes. Leaving TIm to eat in peace. He sighed some and decided to take a bite of the tummy meat, nervous as he took a bite.

His fears were confirmed. the pikachu was DELICIOUS!

Sparky giggled around the apple, watching as the boy ate, and at the fact that he was trying to hide his delight in the meal. He heard the happy gurgles of TIm's belly, and knew he had saved the boy's life. He drifted off to sleep, happy that he wold fill the boy's tummy, giggling at every bite on his tender form the boy made.

As for Tim, indeed the chu was delicious, and he could not keep from eating the delicious meat. TO him, it was like a big pork roast! He actually smiled as he ate every bit of the tumy meat, moving to the limbs, neck and all over. He saved the head and tail for last, wanting to preserve the look of his friend in his memory. After a good while, all that remained of Sparky was his bones. TIm sighed and rubbed his now bloated belly.

"THanks friend..." he said sadly. "I wish... I wish you were here to thank."

"Wish granted!" A voice said, a form popuncing him from behind. When the boy turned around, he eeped as he saw the pikachu again, giggling some. The boy was wide eyed, until he realized just how silly it seemed for a pokemon to want to be on the menu, unless...

"Why didn't you...?"

"WOuld you have believed if I told you?" the pikachu said, hugging the boy's tummy. "besides, I was unsure how much longer I had when I saw you." he hmmed. "id you enjoy it?"

The boy nodded after blushing red for a bit. "It was unlike a poaching... I was sure I could taste your kindness."

Sparky giggled. "That is the joy of a willing meal... and why I would like to go with you." He smiled. "After all, I don';t know the way myself, and as long as I get the berries, we will be alright."

The boy was wide eyed. "You mean you want to...?!"

"Sure!" He huged the boy, not letting go even as the boy stood up. TIm returned the hug he was given, smiling at having caught a pokemon. But Sparky had to admit one thing. When he smelled the boy...

Well, that was for another day. For now, he was happy to have saved his life. Moreover, he had "sparked" a friendshuip.

One that grew even as they walked from that cooksite.

THE END.
