  * Prey1: Ratnard - A slightly anthro rat
  _________________________________________________________________
20:32:11 Ratnard: Along with the usual food and bobbles he found on
his last round of pilfering, Ratnard found a sort of map. According to
the map it's author hid some stolen jewelry in a cave. The map shows
twist and turns leading to the location of the hidden jewelry. Ratnard
is not a stranger to crawling around sewers and passageways, so he
decides to check it out. Ratnard finds the entrance to the big cave in
the park. As he goes deeper into the cave his eyes start adjusting to
the darkness. Being a creature of the night, Ratnard can see well in
lowlight, but he can not read in absolute darkness, Fortunately he was
also able to steal a chemical lightstick. Ratnard activates the
lightstick and his path is illuminated by a creepy green glow.
Following the map he proceeds deeper into the cave in his quest for
  booty.
20:39:22 :Scree is dozing lightly in one of the many little bolt-holes
he's claimed around the park. Occasionally the odd limb twitches, like
those of a cat that's dreaming about chasing things. One of his ears
twitches a little then twists round to point towards the tunnel, and
before long he seems to perk up completely - evidently something has
his attention! He peers down the tunnel, then starts to stealthily
scuttle in the direction of the sound.
20:42:31 :Ratnard continues to follow the map untell the map tells him
to turn right where the is only a left turn. At this point, he
realizes he had the map upside down for a while. He then starts to
  bach track his movements.
20:47:44 :Scree listens carefully for a while, then scoots off to a
side passageway. He grins to himself as he anticipates the approach of
this intruder, and the tip of his tail begins to glow a bioluminescent
green. With one little flick, his tail is now draped into the tunnel,
the only part visible in the gloom being that glowing green pom-pom
like tailtip, which now lay there in the middle of the passageway.
21:01:37 Ratnard: After some examination of the map, and figuring out
where he went wrong, he decides that he needs to return down a long
strait section of cave. As he walks, he notices a green glowing ahead
of him. The glow has a similar appearance to his own lightstick. Can
it be the original thief here to collect his booty? Only if the
original thief got lost too. Ratnard is suspicious of the light, so he
buries the map and the lightstick in some loose sand quelling it's
brightness. A small trickle of urine sent-marks the items for later
retrieval. He then proceeds to within a several feet from the glow and
waits. Curiously the glow doesn't move. What could it be? It was not
there before when he passed this way the first time.
21:09:45 :Scree smiles to himself as the rat approaches, his ears
perked up so he can detect the slightest sound. Eventually there is a
movement - the glowing thing lifts up into the air, as Scree brings it
close enough to illuminate his grinning face. "Oh, whass this?
Breakfas' in bed? Ain't often I gets folks jus' wanderin' in!"
21:20:17 Ratnard: As he waits near the glowing grotto he suddenly sees
the glows creator emerge and watches the glow intensify. Once he hears
the creatures words, he decides not to stick around. He doubles back
on his path once again. He passes the scent marked items, but does not
stop to retrieve them. Even in total darkness he can feel the cave
wall with his whiskers. He also remembers this part of the cave. He
has about another 40 feet of cave that he remembers. Sence his first
  U-Turn.
21:25:15 :Scree cackles, his laughter fading into the darkness as the
glow fades away. Before long though, the laughter is replaced by a
series of high-pitched chirps and a scuttling noise as the monster
makes off after his quarry - while the rat may have his whiskers, they
don't quite stack up next to sonar...
21:32:27 :Ratnard is running for his life in total darkness. He has a
good sence of hearing and he can hear scree following behind him. He
can not hear the higher pitch sonar clicks. Soon he passes the first
U-turn point, from here out the cave is a misery. He can hear the
creature behind him, so he presses on. As indicated by his whiskers
the cave comes to a fork, Ratnard takes the left fork.
21:41:56 :Scree chirps a few times, then grins and scuttles up the
wall and through a smaller tunnel nearer the roof, the sounds of his
pursuit fading away as he does so. Soon, the only signs that he's
still around somewhere are occasional high-pitched chirps, which seem
to echo around the tunnels and come from all directions at once.
21:50:13 :Ratnard continues to run in total darkness. He hears the
chirps, but continue in the same direction. That is, he continues
untell he comes to a dead end. It is now that Ratnard becomes the
proverbial cornered rat. Turning around, he gets a few feet away from
the end. He bears his sharp teeth and waits for the danger to come to
  him.
20:37:27 :Scree can be heard chuckling away to himself somewhere in
the darkness, and that chirping noise continues echoing around the
tunnels, leaving absolutely no clue as to where the sound is coming
from - until, that is, a scuffling noise can be heard close by, and a
few little flecks of dirt rain down on the rat from above...
20:52:18 Ratnard: As the creature nears Ratnard picks up a curious
collection of smells. The creature is definitely producing some
feather dust with it's distinctive smell. In addition he smells the
mammalian sweat and the intrinsic chemicals given off be insects, but
far to much to be an ordinary sized bug. Scree may have the advantage
of sonar, But Ratnard has his whiskers. In the cave with no ambient
wind, he knows that any wind felt by his sensitive whiskers, can only
come from the movement of a nearby creature. Ratnard says in his
Brooklyn accent,"now listen here, I don't know what you are, but you
better leave me alone or else!"
20:58:50 :Scree cackles in response to the rat. "Hah! Or else what,
eh?" A faint green glow starts to appear in the tunnel as Scree's tail
lights up - revealing Scree sitting mere feet away, clinging to the
  roof of the tunnel!
21:05:21 :Ratnard's eyes are indeed sensitive to any light in the
darken cave. He then says, "You will get the wrath of my teeth in your
flesh. I'll start by biting off that sissy look'n mop-ball on your
  head."
   21:10:17 :Scree blinks. "Sissy-lookin'? Right, 'at's it..." A faint
crackling sensation fills the air and the creature's fur begins to
stand on end - in the space of a second this is followed by a faint
purple corona which is almost flooded out be even the weak light from
Scree's tail. The next light is a lot brighter though - and a lot
louder too, as Scree lets off a small lightning bolt inside the
  tunnel!
21:25:51 Ratnard: As Ratnard watches the unknowen creature and
contemplates his next move. The first thing he notices, the air fills
with oder of dander, repelled as the creature's hair begins to stand
on end. Followed in short order by the sound of crackling and the
scent of ozone in the air. Ratnard doesn't know what to expect, so he
decides to try running underneath the creature suspended from the
ceiling. As he takes a few steps, the whole tunnel lights up in a
brilliant blue-white. He is knocked-out by the charge, before he hears
to pop. After an unknowen amount of time, Ratnard feels himself
  beginning to regain consciousness.
21:32:19 :Scree can be heard chuckling away to himself as the rat
awakens to an odd spinning sensation as if he were being turned around
over and over and over - a few seconds more and it becomes apparent
that that's exactly what is happening! Scree is lying on his back
turning the rat over and over, all the while wrapping lengths of silk
  around the hapless rodent...
21:46:05 Ratnard: As Ratnard starts to wakeup, the first thing he
would notice is the smell of his own breath trapped against his face
and distinctive smell of spider web. He then is aware of his movement.
Once he is aware that he can't move his limbs his adrenaline spikes
him to full alertness. He begins to wiggle violently in an attempt to
free his arms or legs. He can feel some loose strands around his face
and is able to bite through only a few of them. Though his voice might
sound slightly as if he were gaged, he manages to get out the words,
  "What is this?"
21:48:47 :Scree cackles! "Whaddaya fink it is? You's been tied up
ready fer dinner!" He grins. "Can't 'ave you bitin' off me pom, can
I?" He chuckles to himself. "I 'ad ta catch a moogle ta get this!"
21:51:24 Ratnard: "how about's we make a deal, you let me go and I
  don't bother your pom"
21:54:19 :Scree grins. "Well, you ain't gonna bother me pom where I's
gonna send ya anyways!" With that, he raises the rat to his mouth as
if he were nothing but a hot dog...
22:02:03 :Ratnard has escaped from many encounters before, But this
time he is truly perplexed. As he is brought closer to the creature's
mouth Ratnard struggles furiously within the cacoon that scree has
provided. He tries to shake his head back-and-forth in an attempt to
break free, by it is all in vain.,save for a few broken strands near
  his mouth.
22:05:24 :Scree casually gives the rat another quick jolt before
tossing the entire parcel, webbing and all, into his waiting mouth.
The creature seems to be rather pleased with himself for catching such
a quarry, but this is no consolation to the rat!
22:14:29 :Ratnard starts to work feverishly to break the few strands
remaining around his mouth. If he were to get his mouth free he might
be able to just get a bite in. He is just about to make some headway
in freeing his jaws and teeth when he feels a second jolt. This time
when he awakens he can smell the damp smell of someplace inside the
  creature known as Scree.
22:18:02 :Scree smiles contentedly, already busy swallowing the rat
down like a particularly big pill, the muscular walls of his throat
gripping the cocoon and dragging it further downwards, until finally
the rat starts to pass into a slightly more open space.
22:31:30 :Ratnard can smell the warm damp spit of the creature. As
Ratnard can feel the mussels start to pull him downward. Ratnard
continues to struggle against all hope. The silk around him is
relentless at holding him tight. Ratnard knows that life is a struggle
for survival, however even he starts to think that he will not make it
out of this situation. Ratnard remembers the last time he forced his
starving brother from his mom's teat.
22:34:45 :Scree smiles contentedly as the rat plops into his stomach,
the various fluids within already starting to get to work on his
hapless prey - though the webbing binding him seems to be dissolving
  as well!
22:40:20 Ratnard: As Ratnard struggles he is forced deeper, untell he
is eventually pushed into a place that is a little larger than before.
The smell is awful, but as he struggles the webbing around him begins
to dissipate. Ratnard suddenly gets a glimmer of hope that he will
  survive this after all.
22:45:04 :Scree curls up and settles down to sleep once again, not
even waiting for his belly to finish dealing with his catch. As much
as Ratnard might hope, there's little chance of getting out now - the
stomach has begun its work in earnest, and the webbing isn't the only
  thing being being broken down...
22:52:04 :Ratnard starts to kick and push against his surroundings. He
notices his eyes and nose burning along with his skin itching. As his
situation worsen he can feel his skin feel as it is burning. Ratnard
yells out as he thrashes about uncontrollably.
22:54:57 :Scree doesn't even appear to be awake at this point - as far
as he's concerned the rat is nothing more than a snack, something to
be broken down in his belly - and sadly for Ratnard that's exactly
what's happening! Before long, the digestive enzymes start to get into
  the rat's bloodstream...
23:06:47 :Ratnard attempts to fight on against the pain which is
overwhelming. As he wears out, he tries to take a rest-bit, becoming
more relaxed. As he does, he begins to realize that to embrace the
relaxation is to embrace death, his survival instinct starts to take
hold, and he finds himself trying to fight on. Hoverer, as he gets his
second wind, Scree's digestive enzymes enter his blood. Soon Ratnard
feels his heart seize-up, and it is back to the bliss, back to the
quiet, back to the relief. All pain is removed and his thought soon
stop. A moment later, Ratnard begins to twitch then stop moving. Now
he is nothing but a breakfast, nothing but raw materials for Scree's
body to use as it wishes.
23:16:09 :Scree smiles contentedly and falls asleep properly, the rat
now nothing more than a memory for him. Subconsciously, his body would
start to incorporate the rat's body into itself, duplicating the
rodent's cells to improve himself where he could stand some
improvement, but otherwise just treating him as so much food...
