A smuggler has found a unique way to sneak people across some mountains between two warring nations. But it isn't without risk... and not even HE knows what is going to happen on THIS particular trip.

Yes and no. I don't think the problem's so much that you telegraphed it, but that it's a bit of a cliche (the weird girl is ALWAYS the princess) so people are expecting it.

Haha, well put sir. There were absolutely no other women in the actual events of the story though, so I guess it was kinda inevitable whether she was weird or not. ;)

Wow. Dragons. Politics. SV. ESV (at least as far as the non-fatality is concerned). Sex while in a dragon's belly. Damsel in distress. Said damsel survives (Raine, consider yourself verrrry lucky!). Wow, everything got thrown in here but the kitchen sink and it all went together awesomely.
Kavenbach your stories are usually impressive but so far this is the Mt. Everest among your Himalayas.

And you know... this IS meant as a love story! Jerrit, who until now has been merciless and uncaring, even climbing into Mange to retrieve dead people's belongings, suddenly feels something different and spares Raine. Raine insisting on riding to the palace with him was supposed to mean a relationship would stem from these events.
