Great sex/vore in this series, and really nice romance, but you've also got me thinking.
I'm a little puzzled on just what happens to Jimmy when he's taken in. In the previous chapter, he was greeted by name by Bahrku -- so Bahrku is still alive enough to greet him, and knows enough about what is happening to Andro to know who Jimmy is. But Andro seems to be grieving enough that it seems that he can't still be getting specific reassurance from Jimmy.
Thinking about this makes me think of my own solution. I hope you'll take it as a compliment that I'm interested, rather than be annoyed that I'm meddling -- it is of course your world. If you like this idea, I'd be thrilled if you use it; if you don't, I apologize for stepping on your toes.
But how I think maybe it works for anhtros, for Bahrku and Andro specifically, is that Andro can't get anything more than a vague sense that Bahrku still loves and supports him, even though Bahrku is still conscious in a way and knows what's happening in the world through Andro. What Jimmy would bring to it is that he'll actually be able to touch Andro more definitely, so that Andro knows for sure that he is still there and that Bahrku sends his love too. This ability turns out to be a special ability that humans have. It seems sort of unfair that the anthros have all the cool abilities, and humans can't do anything special besides taste good. The ability to reassure the anthros that the spirits of their loves are really there means that humans really bring something valuable to their relationship. Otherwise, it seems like the anthros would be better off if they didn't have to share the world with humans at all. Having the anthros there makes the world better for the humans who can see it, but the anthros have plenty of reason to resent humans.
At some future time, I hope Anthro gets to have another real conversation with Jimmy. Perhaps it's in a dream, or perhaps it just develops over time, or perhaps it's in response to a crisis (for instance, it would not be surprising at all for Andro to get shot in the mess that has to be coming, and maybe his near-death experience opens up the connection).

I did consider the idea of a limited consciousness continuing beyond the deconstruction of the human (or anthro) that was taken in, but it seemed like it could get messy. Can’t have those meals sittin’ around and giving off nasty advice or whatnot. So, I went with the essence or soul without a consciousness.

As for humans not doing anything special besides tasting good (I loved that), it turns out that there are the rare humans with gifts of their own. Andro’s roommate, Mustang, happens to be one with an ability tap into the memories of others and relive moments with them, which combines with his being able to lessen the pain of past events, both emotional and physical. I had planned on Andro adapting this ability himself when he ate Mustang (this is from the RP), but a last minute change of plans resulted in Mustang surviving (This will be posted soon because it leads into the next story). So, there are influences involved in taking in an intelligent being, such as Andro’s navel fetish, which he swears came from Bahrku.
The concept of communicating with Jimmy again isn’t totally out of the question. It would be in a dream state, and would be debatable as to whether it was anything more than a dream. But dreams will figure into what’s to come.
It certainly could get messy if the anthro who eats unwilling people, especially enemies has to contend with hearing what they have to say afterwards. But to my mind, that's actually a good thing, because killing people should be a bad thing, with consequences that don't depend on being caught and found guilty by an outside justice system.
The reason I took the name of a famous ethical philosopher for this forum is that I want to examine vore on a deeper level than just how it pushes my personal buttons. In RL, we can ignore the ethical questions because it's just a fantasy, but the characters we create, if we're going to make them believable and compelling, have to actually face these questions head on.
I have a character I hope to actually write about someday who eats the love of her life. The way vore works in that world, he is completely and undeniably dead, and he wholeheartedly enjoyed and wanted it. But she has to deal with a real conflict in herself; she's truly happy for her lover, proud of the achievement of having taken him, and at the same time she misses him desperately. I'm trying to see if Andro is in the same place as she is, or if he has a more concrete assurance than his memories after the fact that he did right by Jimmy. (It can be just as interesting to examine either way. The great thing about fantasy worlds is they don't all have to be the same; we can explore as many situations as we can think up.)
Ethics. Holy crap! Heh. My early vorish writings (back before I discovered big, furry guys) dealt with the ethics of eating (and subsequently killing) another person. Thinking about it now, that may well be one of the reasons I was so eager to jump into the anthro world: humans eating humans has its appeal, but I couldn’t shake the “human” guilt that was connected to it, whereas anthros had a whole variant code of ethics.
Outside of what I mentioned as the essence or soul, dead is still dead in my little world. My own spiritual beliefs are that ‘who we are’ does continue in some completely unknown form when we die, so I have no problem with that piece being contained inside a living anthro. As Andro put it, it’s just as believable as a soul flittering up to Heaven to spend eternity.
Since anthros are still very much connected to their animal side, eating other living creatures (from rabbits to other anthros to humans) is just a part of nature. Their intelligence controls the desire to go out daily and gulp down a tasty young man, but they don’t have the guilt or regret that a human would have since they see it as sustenance (in most cases). An anthro considers it a respectable way to die, believing that the person will merge with them. But enemies will be eaten too. In the RP, my hyena character, Conroy, attacks and eats a human who was about to kill his friend. Conroy saw it as the only way to protect his friend.
In the story you say you want to write (and I hope you do!), you say that your female character grieves over the loss of her lover, which is normal for anyone who looses someone close – whether by death, abandonment, moving away, being eaten, what have you. Andro does experience similar feelings of loss in the sense he can never share a physical connection to Jimmy. But it’s tempered by knowing his companion is forever with him. True, Andro would like to have more bed-busting outings with Jimmy, but his animal side will guide him towards someone else to share those physical desires with.
Outside of the stray bunny or squirrel, Andro has only taken in those who were very close to him (so far), including his quickly-expelled roommate. There are less-cultured groups of anthros that will be introduced soon, and they are the type to grab and eat whatever they want. Outside of my little fictional world, I prefer the type predator that eats because he’s hungry, and sees everyone else (including blue otters!) as nothing but food.

I think it's quite reasonable to say that another species, such as your anthros, could have instincts and culture that make vore natural, while it tends to go against human instincts. (Part of the world of the story I mention above is that while there are a lot of people who are interested in vore, and a pretty fair number who are interested in dying as prey, only a very small number are emotionally capable of eating someone, even someone who really wants it. I see the inability to eat someone as a human thing, and it carries over into the furs that are most of the vores, because they are derived from humans.) But I have an ethical agenda that goes beyond instincts or cultures. Outside of vore forums, I think most people believe that eating other sapient beings is universally bad; I have a more nuanced position that eating sapient beings against their wishes is bad, but I'm aware of something ordinary people aren't, which is that it's possible for a sapient being to actually want to be eaten. (I am sapient; I desire to be eaten; therefore it is possible. Q.E.D.)
People in my world (well, the one under discussion, I have others in my head too) who understand about vore tend to react differently to death by vore than other sorts of death. Part of grief is empathy for the deceased; knowing that they died truly happy, if you really believe it, eliminates that side of it, and just leaves the part where you're sad that you don't get to spend more time with them. Angie (my pred) has vored a whole lot of people before, but she's never been close enough to one where her feelings of missing them have been a big deal. One element of the story is that Vijay (her prey) was wiser about this than she was, and knew (or was pretty sure) that she would have trouble after she'd done it. He still wanted to do it; he trusted that she'd get over the hurt (and the anger that would come from the hurt). But he did make special arrangements with a couple of mutual friends to see to her comfort.
Darn it, I really want to write this story now, but I need to write like a hundred thousand words of setup and back story before I get to it. And that's just what I already know; I'll have to figure out a lot more to actually write it. I think my head will explode. Somebody should eat me so it makes less mess! (Did I mention that I like it hard and bloody?)
I wasn’t implying that you should eat me (and if you’re human, I’d probably object anyway!), but I think it’s an interesting dichotomy you present that you’ll only eat the willing, yet you’re totally into hard vore. But, that’s just differences in preference, and I have nothing against other people’s enjoyment of things I’m not into.
You’re correct that, in reality, eating sentient beings is frowned upon due to that fussy little detail of death. There is no “Hey, kill me! It’ll be fun!” in our world – as it should be, IMHO. That makes me curious about your statement about your desire to be eaten. I can easily put myself in a frame of mind where I would willingly give myself to a predator, if said predator were able to perform the deed as I see it in my fantasies. It’s like, IF they existed, IF they actually could swallow people whole, IF, IF, IF…! The idea totally excites me. But IF I were really facing it... knowing the outcome… I’d probably chicken out. I wanna be eaten more than anything, except dying. But it’s a fine line! Heh. IF the reality presented itself, I know I’d at least consider it. Kinda weird to say, and I know some people would immediately say I’m an idiot or sick or whatever. But that’s okay because the REALITY is that it can’t happen, so no matter how I feel about it, it ain’t happenin’. Luckily I have a pretty good imagination, although the physical sensations will never match. So, when you say it, you mean it?
As for your yet-unwritten story, I see no reason to not go into the background of it, even if it’s done within the story itself. Like you, chatting about bits of things to be written also get me into the mood to jump onto what I’ve been procrastinating. I have a book to do and am still in the plotting stages. Too many distractions… I think there’s a big, furry, hungry guy knocking at the door …
Honestly, there are things it's pretty hard to know about oneseful until they actually come up. But I think I really mean it, and if the chance to be vored like in my fantasies presented itself I would jump for it. That doesn't mean that I am interested in trying to figure out how to sneak into a carnivore cage at a zoo. A big part of vore for me is emotional connection between pred and prey. Some people are turned on by the idea of being nothing but food, but for me, it's important that my pred cares how I feel about it. I don't need him (or her, either works) to love me, though it would be nice. I do need him to respect me enough that he's only interested in eating me because he knows I want it.
I don't have any unusual tolerance for pain, and I don't enjoy it under normal circumstances. But I believe that it's possible, in the right emotional context, to experience pain as pleasure. (I have minor personal experience to back that up, though obviously nothing approaching being eaten alive.) Part of being a vore in the world I've been talking about is having low-level psychic powers that help a willing prey get into that emotional state and stay there.
You say "There is no “Hey, kill me! It’ll be fun!” in our world – as it should be, IMHO." I have to comment on two parts of that. First, there's a language thing. 'fun' is a word that seems to trivialize, and trivializing death feels wrong. Second, there's the "as it should be". If vore were somehow possible, it would be illegal, and the law wouldn't make any distinction between between willing and unwilling prey. If I accept that that's "as it should be", then I'd be agreeing that it's wrong to choose to be eaten, and a short step from there to agreeing that it's wrong to *want* to be eaten. "It's just a fantasy" is too facile a defense; I like my fantasies to be ethically sound with my real ethics.
We differ there then. I HAVE to skew my ethics within my fantasies or I’d feel guilty about ‘em. In RL, being eaten is wrong. In fantasy, it’s my goal. Your discussion is still based on the fact that vore isn’t possible, so I kinda don’t get the leap to “wanting” to be eaten as being wrong. I mean, I get that you wanna keep your fantasies ethical, and I like to take ‘em away from reality a bit. And I’m certainly not going to judge anyone’s fantasy guidelines. hehe
The big furry fellow in the next reality over -- ya know, that one who's been watching you thinking you look tasty for a while -- is so disappointed. He gets karmic indigestion from prey whose last thought as they fade to black is "hey, this is wrong".
Maybe I think about it too much. It spoils the fun for some people, and I don't mean to spoil anyone else's fun as long as they're willing to let me have mine.
In my own vorish stories, I created a way for people who get eaten not to end up dead but rather to continue fully living inside the mind of the person who eats them. Mainly because I didn't want to be involved in anything that smacked of "snuff". I suppose I didn't want to deal with the "guilt" either.
(I actually based the hyperdimensional nature of my Neko Campus vores on a race of hyperdimensional beings written back in the '90s on alt.pub.dragons-inn; they were in the habit of eating other people too, though more in terms of a magical absorption ability than swallowing.)
In my stories, the voring can be done for love, or it can be done out of hunger, control, sadism, etc. I suppose one of the things I like the most about it is inducing Stockholm Syndrome in the victim. :) I even did one (slightly strange) story (in a different universe) in which it was entirely nonfatal, period, just to play with that aspect of it.
Some people find my stuff disturbing. Weirdly, at least one person complained it was MORE disturbing than "snuff" vore. Well, to each his own, I guess. I basically write to please myself, and consider the fact that other people like it too to be a bonus.
I fully agree with your final statement. I can't say that I find your concept "disturbing", but do lean more towards the snuff aspect. Oddly, it just sounds much harsher calling it that, but I suppose that's a reflection on how each of us views it. heh.
In my own absorption stories, Tina has a sort of pocket dimension inside her mind where the people she eats ends up—and at one point, one of the characters remarks with irritation that her habit of eating people who annoy her ends up self-selecting for a population of irritating people. :)
(Though I kind of borrowed that from a golden-age SF story, I think called "Catch That Alien!", about an alien that was shifting annoying people into another dimension and when the protagonist ends up there it's filled with annoying people. :)

Okay thank you. I think Im going to hold of reading anything else for awhile. You see after Iread all of the breakfast story here I felt a knot form in me. I know part of the knot was sort of a sadness for what happened in the story but the other part was a pain that I never felt that I need to figure out before continueing. Sorry your story is amazing and I know even if I didn't like what happened it is not my spot to tell you it was bad. I believe what happened progressed the story perfectly. Again wonderful stories and sorry for this strange babble
That's understandable. I wrote it with the intent of hitting an emotional chord or two, so I guess I succeeded a bit. Vore is - all on its own - an intriguing concept to be attracted to, so odd feelings are normal concerning it. :3
Dude, there's absolutely nothing to be sorry about. Feelings are feelings - neither right or wrong. Vore is an odd thing for many people because of what it entails - but that doesn't make it bad. I love it. And if Andro were real, I'd be an active participant in maintaining his muscular belly. :3
Well that's not why I'm sorry. I just feel I threw a little to much of my own thoughts into my first two comments. It's strange I feel like I need to explain everything I feel about vore but I dont know or want to explain. If I had a choice I would want to go in Andro's belly but be able to come back out alive

It’s like, IF they existed, IF they actually could swallow people whole, IF, IF, IF…! The idea totally excites me. But IF I were really facing it... knowing the outcome… I’d probably chicken out. I wanna be eaten more than anything, except dying. But it’s a fine line! Heh. IF the reality presented itself, I know I’d at least consider it. Kinda weird to say, and I know some people would immediately say I’m an idiot or sick or whatever. But that’s okay because the REALITY is that it can’t happen, so no matter how I feel about it, it ain’t happenin’. Luckily I have a pretty good imagination, although the physical sensations will never match. So, when you say it, you mean it?
As for your yet-unwritten story, I see no reason to not go into the background of it, even if it’s done within the story itself. Like you, chatting about bits of things to be written also get me into the mood to jump onto what I’ve been procrastinating. I have a book to do and am still in the plotting stages. Too many distractions… I think there’s a big, furry, hungry guy knocking at the door …

Honestly, there are things it's pretty hard to know about oneseful until they actually come up. But I think I really mean it, and if the chance to be vored like in my fantasies presented itself I would jump for it. That doesn't mean that I am interested in trying to figure out how to sneak into a carnivore cage at a zoo. A big part of vore for me is emotional connection between pred and prey. Some people are turned on by the idea of being nothing but food, but for me, it's important that my pred cares how I feel about it. I don't need him (or her, either works) to love me, though it would be nice. I do need him to respect me enough that he's only interested in eating me because he knows I want it.
I don't have any unusual tolerance for pain, and I don't enjoy it under normal circumstances. But I believe that it's possible, in the right emotional context, to experience pain as pleasure. (I have minor personal experience to back that up, though obviously nothing approaching being eaten alive.) Part of being a vore in the world I've been talking about is having low-level psychic powers that help a willing prey get into that emotional state and stay there.
You say "There is no “Hey, kill me! It’ll be fun!” in our world – as it should be, IMHO." I have to comment on two parts of that. First, there's a language thing. 'fun' is a word that seems to trivialize, and trivializing death feels wrong. Second, there's the "as it should be". If vore were somehow possible, it would be illegal, and the law wouldn't make any distinction between between willing and unwilling prey. If I accept that that's "as it should be", then I'd be agreeing that it's wrong to choose to be eaten, and a short step from there to agreeing that it's wrong to *want* to be eaten. "It's just a fantasy" is too facile a defense; I like my fantasies to be ethically sound with my real ethics.

We differ there then. I HAVE to skew my ethics within my fantasies or I’d feel guilty about ‘em. In RL, being eaten is wrong. In fantasy, it’s my goal. Your discussion is still based on the fact that vore isn’t possible, so I kinda don’t get the leap to “wanting” to be eaten as being wrong. I mean, I get that you wanna keep your fantasies ethical, and I like to take ‘em away from reality a bit. And I’m certainly not going to judge anyone’s fantasy guidelines. hehe

The big furry fellow in the next reality over -- ya know, that one who's been watching you thinking you look tasty for a while -- is so disappointed. He gets karmic indigestion from prey whose last thought as they fade to black is "hey, this is wrong".
Maybe I think about it too much. It spoils the fun for some people, and I don't mean to spoil anyone else's fun as long as they're willing to let me have mine.

In my own vorish stories, I created a way for people who get eaten not to end up dead but rather to continue fully living inside the mind of the person who eats them. Mainly because I didn't want to be involved in anything that smacked of "snuff". I suppose I didn't want to deal with the "guilt" either.
(I actually based the hyperdimensional nature of my Neko Campus vores on a race of hyperdimensional beings written back in the '90s on alt.pub.dragons-inn; they were in the habit of eating other people too, though more in terms of a magical absorption ability than swallowing.)
In my stories, the voring can be done for love, or it can be done out of hunger, control, sadism, etc. I suppose one of the things I like the most about it is inducing Stockholm Syndrome in the victim. :) I even did one (slightly strange) story (in a different universe) in which it was entirely nonfatal, period, just to play with that aspect of it.
Some people find my stuff disturbing. Weirdly, at least one person complained it was MORE disturbing than "snuff" vore. Well, to each his own, I guess. I basically write to please myself, and consider the fact that other people like it too to be a bonus.

I fully agree with your final statement. I can't say that I find your concept "disturbing", but do lean more towards the snuff aspect. Oddly, it just sounds much harsher calling it that, but I suppose that's a reflection on how each of us views it. heh.

In my own absorption stories, Tina has a sort of pocket dimension inside her mind where the people she eats ends up—and at one point, one of the characters remarks with irritation that her habit of eating people who annoy her ends up self-selecting for a population of irritating people. :)
(Though I kind of borrowed that from a golden-age SF story, I think called "Catch That Alien!", about an alien that was shifting annoying people into another dimension and when the protagonist ends up there it's filled with annoying people. :)

Okay thank you. I think Im going to hold of reading anything else for awhile. You see after Iread all of the breakfast story here I felt a knot form in me. I know part of the knot was sort of a sadness for what happened in the story but the other part was a pain that I never felt that I need to figure out before continueing. Sorry your story is amazing and I know even if I didn't like what happened it is not my spot to tell you it was bad. I believe what happened progressed the story perfectly. Again wonderful stories and sorry for this strange babble

That's understandable. I wrote it with the intent of hitting an emotional chord or two, so I guess I succeeded a bit. Vore is - all on its own - an intriguing concept to be attracted to, so odd feelings are normal concerning it. :3

Dude, there's absolutely nothing to be sorry about. Feelings are feelings - neither right or wrong. Vore is an odd thing for many people because of what it entails - but that doesn't make it bad. I love it. And if Andro were real, I'd be an active participant in maintaining his muscular belly. :3
