While I have played "rug" preds, and even did a story about a man-eating bearskin rug, the creature I detail here is largely based on an Oglaf comic. You can see it here:

It's only when you mouse-over the comic that you see how vorish it really is. "Having consumed its victim the flatbear, now resembling a normal bear, will sleep for three weeks."
This is a quick writeup and may have some typos or other problems. I'll have another look at it tomorrow.

I really enjoyed this little critter when I first read of it. Have been tempted a few times to write a short story for it or a cloaker or any one of the other snatch n grab preds D&D is full of that stragglers could find themselves prey to >_>
