Wow...a brilliantly written story. Loved the digestion descriptions. The innocence of the characters made it all very cute. Thanks for posting this, Bitter! One question, though: Is Mair's digestive process 100% efficient? That is, does she recycle all her food with no waste?
You've got it. The fey are more spirit than body compared to creatures of other realms, and are therefore capable of absorbing one another almost completely. Anything left over either contributes to their sexual fluids or gets burnt straight off into waste heat if there's too much to convert into useful matter quickly.
However, I'll point out again, for safety, that the themes presented here aren't quite originally of my own design; I cribbed the notion of encountering a good friend being digested by another acquaintance from "A Week With Debbie" by Sentinel. I simply took the idea and ran with it after my own inimitable style.
Again, you give us an alien world, and make its perspectives seem so natural - the glimpses into the fey's world view. The way they behave around one another. Dané's troubled hesitation about Mair's "innovation" (as it were).
There's an inevitable sadness to this story, but peaceful, too; soothing. A sense of loss (through digestion), tempered with a sense of comfort and beauty.

Bitter, your writing captures something beautifully transcendental about vore. It's simply fantastic.

Of all the stories I've set in the Mystic Wilds, I think this one hews the closest to the setting's ideal tone-- strange, pleasant, and a little sad.
Now that I think about it, that's the tagline from Mother 3...

Still one of the. Very best stories on all of Eka's.
A true work of art, in thought, concept and execution.

That's very high praise! Thank you very much. Hopefully I can get back into the writing groove soon and make something just as good.
