Looks like those two mermaids won't be swimming around anywhere soon...
Are those gags a part of Clairs body? They dont seem attached.

Still working out the details about the gags. Ether their part of her that she was able to glob off her main body, a small blob of her she can control. Once its go in the girls mouth is swells up so she can't spit it out. Or the gag is the end of a tendril Clair has sent up the girl ass, through her body and pocked out her mouth. Another way to trap the girl in her body or to keep her on a lease of she let's her out to play.

I think I like the first idea the most, with Clair putting a little bit of herself in the girls mouth and making it swell until shes quiet.

Well I always preferred seeing the girls she captures as shapely bulges in her flesh, though i suppose a leash wouldn't be a bad idea. Give them a taste of freedom every now and again so she still has the fun of them squirming inside her trying to get back into the ocean.
Also, leashed mermaid would be more tempting for the octo or shark girls out there.

You just have to wonder what Clair uses as bait... Pearls? Regardless, from the looks on those two mermaids' faces I don't think Clair will need to worry about any lack of enjoyment for a while :)

Maybe its a progressive kind of thing;

Pearls attract mermaids, she absorbs/slurps them into herself, then she gags and plays with them to get rid of most of their struggles.

Then uses her flesh to manipulate the mermaid and make it look like she's simply sitting in the clam resting. An octo-girl sees this, think its an easy meal, goes for her, and gets absorbed into Clair as well.

Is that what Clair does? I know I saw another picture with her and probably asked the same question there too, but I had thought that she just collects them for a bit and then let's them go when she needs room for fresh girls?

Well I'm making a few presumptions, based on her nature and the past drawings.

I know she catches them(either by luring them in, or waiting a careless girl to swim too close), then she slurps into her body or simply absorbs them directly into her.

Once they are trapped inside her, shes free to play with them(using her soft flesh to push and pull them into different poses, make 'clothes' for them, etc), display them as her collection(keeping them inside her body, but near to the surface, then tightening her flesh around their body to show off their shapely bulges), or simply let them sink out of sight deep into her body until she wants to use them again.

Clair has cashes all over the sea floor for her to hide girls away. Clair can move about but very slowly. Some clams clap their shells together to jet through the water. Clair can do the same thing or use her blob body to form a giant tongue to push her along the sea floor.

So if she's tired of one girl (or a several of them), she just stores them away somewhere for later.

Though considering her shell is pretty large(and her blobby body can hold girls anywhere), I'd like to imagine what she would look like fully stuffed;

Girls bulging out of her top shell, girls pushing out of her bottom shell(including two soon-to-be additions;one being slurped into her, the other being absorbed), each breast wobbling with a girl inside trying to get out, and one reluctant girl(maybe a Sharkgirl Queen or something) on prime display; absorbed directly into Clair's main body, with the only part of her visible is her face wedged between the two massive boobs.

No point in her having a collection if she doesnt show it off, especially when shes really got a lot.
Not to mention her current favourite girl, shes gotta wedge her somewhere special to show off.
A royal girl is a rare catch, so Clair needs to make it known that she absorbed one.
Not to mention it'll be the ultimate way for Clair to tease her; With how proud royal sea girls are, theyd hate to know that they were absorbed by a clam girl, and now just another part of her collection.
Even worse, their face is wedged in such a silly position that any other sea girls can swim by(at a safe distance) and see her fate.

You also forget Clair is a clam too, so she can caught girls with an outer layer of peril. She can turn the girls into perils stachus. The girl can see out, but not move. great way for her to watch other girls swim by.

yes. Or if a girl has shown to be really passive and doesn't try to escape, she mite let her out on a lease. She getting a little freedom, but Clair can real her in at a moment notice.

So if a girl is good, they get to play around a bit(still with a gag, I assume), get a little taste of what the open ocean was like before being absorbed...
I guess that might also be Clairs way of teasing the unruly ones; The quiet little mermaid is free to swim around a bit, while the big, powerful, scary aqua-girls have to stay inside and watch silently.

yes, and also the swimming around girls can also use as bait to help catch other aqua girls. A good girl also will be very willing to help Clair out. Kind of trading other girls for her free time out side.

lol, that is true. Clair can go fishing with the free girl, letting her get swallowed and pulling the other girl into her body. Once that is done she can free the swallowed girl.

I love the idea. Clair would be very protective of her girls she collected so far, but it would make good since for her to use her collection to attract more girls to add to her collection. Clair is a good friend with Naut and sometimes the trade girls.

I can imagine those two being friends, similar interests. They probably met when they realized that they were too big to fit into each others shell, lol.

They'd make good trading pals; I think Naut more cares about quantity of friends, while Clair likes a little more variety(though they both like a mixture of both).

So Clair might have four mermaids, an octo-girl, and a shark girl on display.
Naut, being more mobile, might have two mermaids, an two octo-girls, a shark girl, and an unlucky diver trapped inside her shell.

Naut wants more friends, but Clair hasn't had a human as a part of her in ages.
So Clair pushes out two mermaids for Naut to suck into herself, then Naut squeezes out the diver onto Clairs shell, where Clair quickly absorbs her, then adjusts her body to her liking inside her body for everyone to see.
