I seem to be in the mood for writing stories that are very short and slightly odd… This one is in response to an idea launched by 4ofSwords, which you can read about here: http://aryion.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=41756 . Thus the first paragraph of this story was written by 4ofSwords. (Or the first two, if you count the inaugural "BZZZZZT!" as a paragraph in itself.) The rest was written by me.
But the entire story, really, is heavily inspired by 4ofSwords' works, and is intended in part as a very modest tribute. Thanks for the inspiration!

Thank you very much for jumping in on that Last Night idea! You did an excellent job of taking it in a new direction with a predator that is unlike anything of yours I've read yet (though my readership is not exhaustive), but still definitely wears the badge of your style.

You're very welcome; thank *you* for the inspiration! I suppose it is rather in keeping with my tendency towards fairly "sweet" or pleasant predators… :)
