A lot of people told me when I wrote my story for Karbo's Becky Mermaid contest that Black Leg John was the most interesting character in the story and I should write more with him. So I did! Then I got a little distracted and de-railed and the story sort of shifted into something of its own... but I kind of like it this way? So I'll probably try to write more stuff with John's adventures eventually, including the part 2 of this story with a bunch of action that got missed out on thanks to an interrupting Succubus.
It's like that old knock, knock joke.

That was quite a fun and interesting tale!
It's been quite a while since I've read one of your stories, but it seems like the overall flow and clarity have improved quite a bit, so kudos on that for sure! :D
The combat with the deadly catgirl swarm felt appropriately hectic and frenzied, and I have to admit, catgirls can somehow always retain an unshakable air of cuteness no matter what sort of arm-chewing violence they're getting up to. It's a little uncanny. xD
The banter between John & Aiden was fun, though as you pointed out in the description, the interrupting succubus did kinda steal the show . . . in a good way. Narina certainly knows how to handle delicious naughty catgirls, and making a millennia-old magic sword blush is not an inconsiderable feat either. All her dialog and everything were quite fun to read through, she's quite the character.
Anyway, nice work, and glad to see you still alive and everything. :D
