Yeah I totally agree. This is a total surprise for me as well. Seeing Evelyn swallow her most unfortunate victim is a first in this style of drawing. It really gives the impression of it being closely related to that of an anime style. Though that's just me.
You're hand drawn style looks good and the color and shading technique is also impressive too. I hope to see more like this in the future.
