The Zielinski sisters have an encounter with an alien that will probably end poorly for the human race.
There's a pithy little rhyme out there that I read once about how we can't tell the gender of a flea, but it would be obvious to fleas themselves. That lack of knowledge helped inspire this short story. I can't find it now, unfortunately.

Thanks for looking. I actually came across it in a short story about two scientists who wake up, naked, in a controlled environment and eventually deduce that they are the human specimens in an alien zoo. They assume that the aliens want them to mate, unaware (as a layperson would be) of the different sexes. I thought it was by Ray Bradbury in The Illustrated Man, but when I looked it up yesterday it wasn't right. Might have been Heinlein. I was reading a lot of Bradbury and Heinlein 17, 18 years ago when I came across this story.
