She was a fuck up. Born from the failure of the Legendary hero, Blink had never succeeded in anything she had attempted. She had failed to save her siblings, failed to stop the Sorceress, and failed to prevent Ganon's return. Blink was well aware of every single version of herself that had been melted in some monster's belly, and that all of them had failed in their quests as well.
But this time... being the only thing standing between that monster and Princess Ruto... Ruto who had forced the bunny to be her servant ten seconds after meeting her... Ruto who lectured her every single time she screwed something up... Ruto who always let her try again afterwards...
This time... Blink wasn't going to fuck up...
Not this time.
(I really should just hurry up and write a story...)

I want to know more about this. Is this just a case of video game lives? Or is it more complicated than that?

Well, for the short version: Blink is a corrupted version of Link, and as such, she is also multi-incarnate. Basically, all the timelines that have her in them are starting to merge together, so Blink is gaining the memories and experience of all her other selves.
... But, yeah, there's also the fact it's a video game~

Cool! I'm always interested in thinking of creative ways to write a character that can be shown dying repeatedly, like multiple lives, clones, and reincarnation.

Reincarnation is my personal favorite, since it allows for fatality, while still allowing the character to return.
And... I love multiple timelines in any story, which is one of the reasons Zelda is my favorite series.
