I've always wondered, but why doesn't anyone carry a knife?
It seems to me like a sharp edge would be a necessity. It might not work against all preds, but stabbing Simone's hiney as she sits down would probably work.

So far, I'm really enjoying this series, as usual. Your writing is excellent, and is well balance and doesn't sacrifice the erotica or story for one or the other. but being the nerdy little twat I am, I had to make this post.
While an important factor, digestive enzymes don't actually do any digesting. They act as a catalyst for the acid in order to greatly speed up the process. However, there's mostly only ones for proteins and sugars, which is why most carnivorous creatures have a much harder time digesting things like bone, plant matter, fabrics, wool, and other non-meaty things. Most creatures (including about half of the human population) also lose the ability to produce lactase as they get older, which is the enzyme for milk proteins, so keep that in mind as well.
Basically, if I were to hold my tongue, neutralizing the acids would in fact save them from harm, and their clothes would most definitely survive the trip even if they themselves don't.
So all he has to do is carry around enough strong base to neutralize the hydrochloric acid and enough oxygen to survive the trip, he'll be perfectly fine! :P

I have to ask, Aces. Have you ever read a book called "A Spell For Chameleon" by Piers Anthony? If you have, I feel like this is Amir's secret.
