Despite gradual improvement after joining the Guardians, Rocket's horrific past still bears down on him. Eventually something has to break, and unfortunately it's Rocket.

Why are you making me sob.
I knew you were brilliant at world building and character arcs and murder mysteries (that's the best descriptive term I can think of for realistic voraphiles) but I had no idea you could write such moving character exploration and emotionally cathartic drama.

It's been many years since I wrote anything like this. Before I found the furry community I wrote a couple of very bad stories featuring a furry alien who'd lost his mate and was so emotionally destroyed he almost committed suicide. For some reason the idea of Rocket having PTSD (last story) or being a horribly abused child full of bottled up fear and pain (this story) just tugs at my heartstrings.
Someone suggested that I do a third story in which Drax convinces him to see a doctor about his botched implants, something Rocket would never normally do because he's afraid of doctors. Having Drax looming over the doc should provide some emotional support but I haven't found the right start for the story yet. I wrote this one in an afternoon, sometimes a story really needs to be written, but the next one is fighting me a bit.
