Depends on how you view hammerspace. Some views are that the muscles are so strong the instantly crush food down. Some are that the preds interior is bigger than the outside or is an alternate dimension. Some are a mixture of both.

Definitely. There's also a fourth though, which is a lot like the instant crush except that it somehow isn't painful. Their body just manages to somehow squeeze the prey into the tight confines of the organ without killing them. For example, the comic on here called "Caked In" commissioned by Mutualtaco. The last page shows the prey being non-fatally" crushed and crammed through the preds digestive tract.
