Draken had eaten several maidens in relatively the same area, and this caused a few warriors to hunt for him and try to kill him.
One of the would-be dragon slayers was a young shield maiden who believed she would be more than a match for the dark dragon. From Draken's perspective though, all he saw was 'a meal I work for.'
In the end, one of them was right.

Well, when you dine on poor maidens from the same place for some time, you sort of create a market or knights. He is lucky that the warriors coming for him also are females ;)
