The decision is made for Galya to fight to the finish to free the Duke's eldest daughter. There is a brutal fight, and though Galya is badly wounded, she is victorious- and now it's time to make their escape.
Between the trip and a nasty head-cold, I'm just now back to being able to write coherently. Sorry for the delay! We shouuuuuld be back on track now. :)
-----
Galya the Champion
Qualities: Devourer, Silvertongue, Social Butterfly, Severely Injured, Touch-Empath?
The vote: Well, both daughters have been sprung from the castle, along with Mayonne, and everyone's in the stables with people coming.
Option #1: Get everyone on a horse and ride as far as hard as you can until Galya's ready to fall off the horse.
Option #2: Get on the horses and ride them out, but quickly get off and try to find somewhere to hide in the small town outside the castle walls.
Option #3: Delaying option. Galya takes Kay's crossbow and stalls the pursuers as long as she can to buy time for both daughters and Mayonne to make their escape.
As always, write-in votes are welcome!

Query: in Galya's estimation, is her injury going to slow their flight on horseback?

Only in that the others could probably go until the horses get tired, and she's likely to have to stop before then. No *immediate* or near-town slowdown.

I vote for option 3. They'll ride us down if we try to outrun them.
Ride the horses hard out of the keep, get them going... but pause on the outskirts of town. Get off and fake a trail. Cut into your arm and catch the blood in a water skin. Tie it to the horse, knick the bottom, and set the horses running hard.
Cover our own trail and hunker down somewhere low and hard to find. Hopefully the demons take off after the horse. Perhaps Mayonne or the youngest daughter has a hiding place? Best to avoid anywhere well traveled. We dont want anyone, friendly or otherwise, to know we did anything but run.

I changed my mind a third time!
Option 3, last stand of the Champions!

As much as I'd like to vote option 3 (being the most likely to succeed at this point) I've got to admit, I've gotten quite attached to Galya now. I've liked her from day one but now she's too close to my heart to just give up on a sacrifice play. But my choice will depend if there are walls around the surrounding town. If there are no walls then Option 2 but if there's a chance we can be trapped behind a demon controlled lockdown of the town gates then option 1.

Option 2

By the way, I just wanted to say that I love the story and I'm totally hooked on it!

I believe it best to pursue self preservation, a noble sacrifice would allow those we've saved to escape the castle, true. But what then? a young girl and a wounded arcanist, and a dazed girl wont get too far on their without protection. No, it would be best to accompany them to ensure they survive and should be a primary concern.
Depending on how many horses are still in the stable we may be able to lead them all out and cause a distraction that could buy us enough time in the confusion to escape and hide. Since it is dark it could take awhile for the demons to hunt the trail. The wounds we have and the blood dropping from Conzi should be cleaned and dressed, to ensure we won't be followed as quickly. Conzi particularly, our blood is typical and could be seen as just someone escaping, so they may not pursue us that hard, after all, the champion Galya is still suppose to be dead remember? But demon blood would be a dead give away and would point any pursuers to our location, we should use the hay on the ground to wipe the blood off of Conzi before we ride off. We could even cut one of the horses to mask our own blood if we really wanted to.
When it comes to just how far we should go, I'd say the safe bet would be option 1, but that would put us in a precarious position and give us little chance to recover. Instead I would suggest option 2. By masking our trail in the stables and by having all the horses in the stable run, we could create enough time for us to get into the town and hide. I would advise the small village instead of running as it would allow us time to recover and catch our bearings. It would also allow us time to determine the situation and the results of what is and currently happening and perhaps save more people. We also have the woods nearby that we could flee to if the need arises. The risks would largely be that we are in demon territory and could be found at any time.
But in the long run I believe option 2 to be our best bet.

I'm guessing we didn't fare too well with the combat roll this time, or maybe the enemy was meant to be that dangerous? Either way, good to see we pulled through. I'm going to go with Option #2. The sooner we can rest and recuperate, the sooner we can try to come up with some sort of strategy.
